If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. The location was run down and that is not even why I am rating them negatively. I saw the nail technician drain the pedicure chair after finishing another client's pedicure then proceded to refill it with water for next person without properly cleaning it. I am all for finding holes in the wall that deliver quality service but the quality of the service was worse than the aesthetic of the location. The color of my gel was completely different from the sample color that I chose. When I got home my thumb nail was already chipping. It's been about four days since I got my gel manicure and several of my nails are chipping and have scratches. I would not recommend anyone to come here ever unless you want to waste your money and time in an unsanitary establishment. read more

honestly the most uncomfortable nail experience in my entire life. Peter is so creepy and made me feel so uncomfortable. I get long acrylic square nails and I just needed a fill. I walked out with a crooked nail and I was so uncomfortable. He makes very sexual remarks and there are literally girls in middle school in the shop. Nobody minds their own business and they ask really personal questions. I was literally bullied by grown men about how i looked like??? Tony and his staff are The Best!!! I love coming here and yes with my children as well... This place is very family orientated and makes you feel welcomed and at home.y children love coming to get their Manis and Pedis.... The Place is tiny but tony and staff make it's packed and people are willing to wait or even more so come back. Prices are reasonable for a nail salon in the city... But you honestly get what you pay for and that said it is long lasting color and results... The girls the do the eyebrows wow! Massage your tempo and have very light hands. I was so pleased with the service I got at Top Nails! I'm not from the area so I was naturally pretty worried about putting my nails AND EYEBROWS at risk. I have been coming here at least once a month for about a year now. I have nothing but positive things to say about the salon and the people working there! A few tips: I always call ahead of time and either make an appointment or ask if they're busy, and the longest I've had to wait is about 10-15 mins. Park in the BACK parking lot right behind the salon, and you will avoid the overcrowded parking mess in the front. Bring cash (they have an atm and will take card if absolutely necessary, but they love if you have cash). Come in with a positive attitude, and they'll definitely provide you with entertainment! Cindy was really nice and fast pace. Just a small issue was the nail filing. Two of my left fingers, the skin was rubbed off which was irritating and painful especially when the acetone was added. I had never seen this manicurist before so she may be new but she is the youngest one there. She did a horrible job on my nails I asked for French tip with pink acrylic and both of the colors blended so they look ugly. Went here with my mom today. I got gel mani and regular pedi. My girl was awesome, she was friendly and pleasant and did a great job. Overall, solid. However, the girl my mom had was AWFUL. She was rude and nasty and kept huffing under her breath. She actually hurt her and when she said something, the woman just ignored her and kept going. I love peter! He's awesome. Not only does he do my fill beautiful and natural, he's funny, remembers how I like it, gave me amazing Vietnamese pudding when I was hungry and is a great person! I have had MANY pedicures in my lifetime, but the one I got at Top Nails yesterday beats them all! It was even BETTER than the $50.00 pedicure I got at Burke Williams and it only cost $18.00 (which I think is a very reasonable price in LA). Sue was fantastic. She took over an hour for my pedicure and they were very busy, so I assume this was normal for them. Every spa chair except for one was occupied and every woman had nothing but great things to say about them. I plan on going to get my fill there in 2 weeks. I don't really understand the high reviews this place has because the place didn't look clean and the nail tech did a horrible job on my nails. Instead of painting all the way down to the end of nail, she left some of it unpainted, so I walked out of there looking like my nails had been growing out for a week already. I went in for a Mani pedi, brought my own OPI polish and just wished for a simple manicure pedicure without any issues or problems. My first clue about the type of service I was going to get was the way I was helped into the chair with my coffee, purse and polish. No help at all. A gentleman who spoke very little English started working on my toes without even asking me what I needed, granted I was sitting in a chair getting my guts shaken out and hanging on to my coffee for dear life with my feet stuck in luke warm light blue water, but I would think you would ask. He started doing something that somewhat resembled a pedicure, which if you want a half a**ed job done then you're in the right spot. The older lady, I presume the owner started working on my manicure when another lady came in and was rushed to go on some other event. So without asking she clipped my nails and begin to file them with a heavy grade file, which I didn't ask for, I do not clip my nails I get them filed down because I get Mani pedis' every two weeks like clockwork. Then she left me to work on the other lady who was in a hurry and sent a gentleman who doesn't even hold a manicurist license to work on me. Now granted I do not mind anyone who is learning to work on me, but for heavens sakes send someone who knows what they are doing. He began grating my finger nails down and they were slanted and I wear them straight with rounded sides, very simple. Then he clipped my cuticles until I was basically bleeding on two fingers , during all of this time the older lady was just speaking in another language and in a shrill of a tone I became uncomfortable. I asked the gentleman how long he had been doing nails, he then looked at me and said 7 months my wife taught me, at that point I knew I was screwed. I will say he tried hard but my nails are messed up, he began painting them and the older lady finished with the other lady that was in such a hurry , she came over to me looked at the look on my face and moved the young man away from me and started painting my nails as if nothing was wrong. I explained that I wasn't happy with the way my nails looked and she continued to paint them and basically rush me out of the door as quickly as possible. Needless to say I paid 25.00 for a toe wash with my toe nails painted as well as my cuticles painted , and my finger nails slaughtered and painted. On the way home I stopped at another salon, asked for help with what happened, they took one look at me sat me down and fixed my fingernails and refused to allow me to pay them, I was too embarrassed to even show my pedicure. So I say , Avoid Top Nail on Lincoln Blvd, Venice Ca,,,, drive further down the road and go to a Nail Salon who takes pride in not only the salon but pride in employing people who are qualified to do the job asked to do. read more

This is a "no frills" salon. You will not find TV's, get a massage after your service is rendered, or be offered refreshments... and you will not pay the outlandish fees for these. Bring a bottle of water, tell them what you want, and in a few minutes, you will be seated for your service. Eh...thats one word for this nail shop! My best friend was in town last weekend and I decided to take her out to get our nails done, we'll call this our "bonding excursions". In any case, the regular salon that I go to in Santa Monica was totally booked and they couldn't get us both an appt for the same time so while we were driving down Lincoln, i stumbled upon Top Nails located in a mini strip mall. Parked our car and noticed that there were 5-6 techs sitting on the spa chairs watching tv, so we walked in and asked for their mani/pedi. The person who I received was totally incompetent, I mean the damn woman works for a nail salon so I thought she'd be able to do a decent job but she totally messed up my french tip on my toes and tried to repatch it up by painting another coat of white polish over it, which totally butchered the look of the french tip. After seeing her work, I was stupid enough to ask for a flower design on my big toes which you guessed right, was butchered even more. I asked for a simple flower, which later turned out to be a butterfly of some sort. I was a bit upset with how my pedicure turned out but I paid the bill anyway and left without saying a word. Needless to say, I won't be back anytime soon unless they happen to be the last nail shop in the LA area. read more
