I've been going to top nails since it opened! I always get my bio gel manicure there and I can honestly say my nails always looks gorgeous and they can actually grow now! Ive never been able to have them long before. The range of colours they have is great (sooo many colours) and they have really nice sparkly gels which I always get complimented on. My nails have never looked better. And sue, I think her name is? That does my nails is quick and efficient and i love the hand massage at the end! What I also noticed is that their files and buffs are one time use. Sometimes you see them being reused at other places but not here. And they always sanitize their stuff which is really important and I dont even normally see the nail tech cleaning their tools at other places, but they do it here. This place is was better than 3 stars. I came in on a walk in from out of town and they took me right away. Rachel did an amazing job and was super thorough, gentle and timely. She did both my manicure and pedicure and took her time unlike other places that just rush you out. We had great conversation and she was very nice. I honestly didn't even have a yelp account but created one specifically so I could come write a review about how embarrassing of an excuse for customer service I experienced at this place. I literally went in JUST to have the polish changed on my acrylic nails, I get my nails done in Vancouver by a bomb nail tech who actually knows what she's doing, so my shape was perfect (as I just got them done a week ago) I literally just needed the polish changed. It took her over an hour to do, she charged for FIFTY dollars, and they came out looking like I just got them done at the 99 cent store. There were bubbles on the ends the shape was all bumpy and they were way too thick. So I went in the next day to get them fixed and right off the bat I was treated like I was just a giant inconvenience to their time, even though literally all of them were sitting around watching tv. The whole time she kept arguing with me about what was wrong with them and tell me how this girl is straight up talking trash very obviously about me to all the other techs in the place in their own language and they're all laughing and then looking at me and she's going off making hand gestures about how I'm improperly placing my hands. I'm sorry but in what country is it okay for you to trash talk a customer directly in front of their face because you're mad that you have zero talent and don't know how to do your job? Let's get this straight I'm a very reasonable and friendly person if you're respectful to me but that honestly just blew my mind. When I called her out and asked if we had a problem she just told me "Oh no we're just talking about cats claws." I'm sorry I must have had "IDIOT" in capital letters written across my head for you to think I believe that trash cover up. I really don't understand the justification in trash talking a client because you're mad you did a crap job. If I could give this place 0 stars best believe I would. To be fair I should've expected less from a place called "Top Nail Salon". Can't even put any effort into naming their own business let alone the experience and work they deliver. I have been coming here for nearly five years. I used to live in Yorkville so it was easy to walk there, but then I moved to St.Lawrence and now I'm in Etobicoke. I STILL come to this place. I tried others for convenience sake, but I haven't found anything that compares to them. Sue and her team are professional, they work fast, and it is THE cleanest place. They prioritize hygiene and health. I brought a friend in once that gets regular pedicures and her toenail was not doing well, they advised her not to do a polish and let it heal. She had never been told that before. Sue is regularly supervising her teams work, showing them ways to do better and give the customer what they want. I'm ultra picky and hard to please and they accommodate me every time. read more

Jennifer did my nails, she was really good and did not rush unlike other salons. She made sure my nails were even ( I got biogel with shellac) The salon does not do acrylic nails. The salon is pricier than others but it was totally worth it. Great customer service. read more

I don't use their services personally but my beautiful and very discerning wife always gets her nails done here (even though there are several closer nail salons she could attend) and in my opinion her nails always look especially phenomenal after visiting here. This nail spa just opened in my area and they had a $35 mani/pedi special on, so I figured I would give them a try. Overall experience was just ok. Though nicely decorated, there was a sense of disorganization amoung the staff. The owner pointed out that she had left Shea Cocco to open this business and kept making references to what she thought were competitive services and prices and it wasn't hard to tell that her staff were in training mode. The pedi was excellent (my tooties are like butter), but the manicure was less than desirable. Uneven nails, left over cuticle and polish wore off in two days. I might go back on occasions where I am short on time for a pedi as they are located at the end of my street, but it definitely won't be my "go to" spot. read more

I cannot express how frustrated I am right now. Today was the third time I wasted money at this dump. Each time I went for shellac and each time was pathetic today was the icing on the cake. The girl used a sharp knife object to peel my nails and they are now mangled. I did not hesitate to bring up my concern about what she was doing to my nails on countless occasions which she ignored me and continued anyway. I wanted to let my nails breath so asked for a regular manicure instead of shellac. They girl didn't even paint my nails and charged me for it. Instead she put on a nail strengthener and started another manicure. It's been ten minutes since I left and they are peeling cause she put shellac top coat on and lied to my face saying that it was a regular top coat. My friend that joined me today got her uber Long nails hacked off that she had been growing out. This place is a unreal they over charge compared to other salons and do an awful job. Don't waste your time or money. Disgusted.... $25 for them to remove shellac destroy my nails and not even put the colour on. Oh and this took an entire hour... Amazing! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Top Nail has the best service so far. Everyone is very professional and friendly. I've been here for more than 10 times and every time I am satisfied with the colour, the nail length and the shape that they've given to me. They have a wide range of colours and services to chose from. But as a costumer, you have to realize that in Yorkville, the price of the services might be higher than other places (because of the geographical location, if you know Yorkville you'll understand). I've seen some comments complaining about the price, I think as a costumer, you need to know what you are able and willing to afford when you want a service. Last but not least, I suggest every women who love doing manicures and pedicures to come to Top Nail! Yesterday I was charged $29 dollars for Shellac removal at Top Nail Spa!! I had been to Top Nail Spa on multiple other occasions, and my experience had been fine. Unfortunately I had gone in to have my shellac nails removed just yesterday and was appalled at the service. Most typical Asian-run nail salons charge between $5-$7 to remove shellacs as it is a simple process. I asked the woman at the front counter if her calculations were correct, she assured me that was the charge for Shellac removal. They had charged me $10 for my hands and $15 for my feet and $2 to clip a couple nails, and another 2$ to file them. These are things that should be included in your service. This is more than what the Four Seasons across the street from them charges for the exact same service, and they do a much better job. It is safe to say I will not be going back to Top Nail Spa. read more

This was by far the worst manicure I have ever received. I had bio gel put on, but wanted tips to make my nails longer. The esthetician took a long time and three of my nails are visibly crooked. The owner came over to look at them and tried to reassure me that they are straight - trust me, they are not! They also took so long (about an hour and a half) that they made me late for another appointment and I had to leave with my nails wet - so the nail polish is ruined. They also cut my cuticles so much that they started to bleed - and hurt for three days after. I would not recommend this place! read more

Did a regular mani and pedi. Bad quality work done on my nails and felt like my attendant was rushing. Didn't take the time to soak my fingers in water before removing my cuticles which made it painful. Because my cuticles were not removed properly the nail polish application looked really messy. Showed them that the polish was all over my half removed cuticles and they didn't do much...will never come back again and definitely don't recommend. read more

Had the worst, bar none pedicure experience of my life in this overpriced, rushed salon. As a gift for my daughters before they went on a vacation we stopped into this salon for a manicure and pedicure. I only wanted a nail polish change on their toes. Once the service began I went to pay. They asked me if I wanted their toe nails buffed or cut. Everything I said yes too added another $5.00 onto the bill. By the time her calculator was done I was charged a total of $96.00 for 2 manicures and 2 toe nail polish changes!!!!! This was including a 5% discount for paying cash. One of my daughters was wearing running shoes and so she waited at least 40 minutes under the dryer to assure her nails were dry. She told the manicurist that she had not done a top coat but the manicurist assured us that she had. In the chaos we trusted that it was done. I don't remember her putting cream or oil on my daughter's toes before she wrapped them in plastic wrap. This is a usual method to protect nail polish on toes when you go home wearing shoes. When we got home and unwrapped her feet the nail polish peeled and/or shmoshed off into the plastic. I immediately called. They offered to redo it if I would come back. This was a long way from my home and they were leaving on a trip the next day. I told her I wanted a refund. Why would I trust them to do a competent job the second time? On the phone they said OK but once I made it to the store the refund was refused. They insisted that no one promised a refund. Horrible, overpriced service. I think they are charging for the address. There are many better choices in the city. Don't bother with this one. One star is too much. read more

My favorite place to get a mani/pedi, Top Nail Spa is definitely the best nail salon in Yorkville. I always get shellac on my hands and regular pedicure on my feet. I usually go to switch up my nail colour every two weeks, and feet once a month, in both cases, the polish always lasts. While its not the cheapest spot in the area, I find it to be the cleanest and most pleasant, with the best results. Ask for Sue to do your shellac, she's amazing! read more

I have known the owner for years, whereever she goes i follow her, she does such a good job for the mani/pedi. I was very excited to learn that finally she opened her own shop. It locates right in downtown, very clean and spacious, the stuff are friendly. I can say i am a very picky guy, i have to say she knows her stuff. I have been to any mani/pedi place in Yorkville, the once called shea coco, the owner is not very friendly, and they are expensive, if you request to use the razor instead of scrubbing your feet they charge extra, every thing cost extra there. Also they are not on the street level, they are below the street level sometimes it get very hot inside and their chairs not massage chair. The owner of shea coco are very cheap, everything want extra money. For the service and price, i highly recommend Top Nail spa, is the place to go. I don't know WTH that krystal woman is talking about, i suspect she knows the owner of Shea coco write a untruthful review about this place. read more

I recently went to Top Nail Spa for a mani-pedi. Two people worked on me at once. The person who filed my nails worked so fast, she slipped with the file and made my cuticle bleed. I also had my forearms waxed and the wax was too hot and my skin was all red. I had to ask them to stop the procedure. Some of the service providers speak English well, while others do not. I am sad to write this review, but feel that others should know what I have experienced. read more
