We rented a television for wedding reception on board the Spirit of Ethan Allen recently and it could not have gone more perfectly! The owner explained how to make our video work, encouraged me to practice it there in the store until I felt comfortable, carried the tv to the car for me, and was very generous in the time frame he allowed for us to return the tv. Honestly, the entire experience was positive, happy, reassuring, friendly, and professional. I highly recommend Top Hat Entertainment, and and am very grateful for the expert help and advice! read more

We used Top Hat for our recent wedding in Vermont (Mountain Top Inn), and had the best experience! Mike was our DJ, and leading up to the wedding he was responsive, easy to work with, and helpful. His energy in emails/phone calls was contagious, and we'd leave interactions with him feeling that much more excited for the wedding. Day of, he provided ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception music and was phenomenal! My big hope for our wedding reception (especially post Covid) was that people would dance, and he did such a great job, the dance floor was full all night! He had the best energy, and was great to work with. I'm so glad we found Top Hat! I should also mention, we rented Top Hat's "magic mirror" photobooth. Our guests thought it was so cool, and it made a great favor. I was originally on the fence about a photobooth, but it was so fun, and made for some hilarious pictures! Top Hat is the absolute best!!!! We worked with Mike for our wedding at Mountain Top Inn. Throughout the planning process Mike was awesome, reassuring, very easy to communicate with, and supportive of our vision for our day. Mike provided music for our whole wedding day, from pre-ceremony to the last song at the reception. It was flawless. My husband and I love to dance, so having a full and fun dance floor was a big priority. Mike REALLY knows how to build a dance floor. I was so impressed. At one point I looked around at our packed dance floor and thought "DAMN this is a good party!!!!!" It was the best feeling. The next day I got a ton of compliments from guests about how good the DJ was. THANK YOU TOP HAT for helping us through the party of our lives!!! read more

My wife and I hired Top Hat as the DJ at our wedding in Ludlow, VT this past May. Our specific DJ was Damon. We had an outdoor ceremony which unfortunately ended up being beset by rain at its conclusion, though our reception took place within a tent. The DJ was an excellent presence at the reception without being overbearing or stealing the spotlight. We had a number of songs we wanted played which were featured throughout the reception, and the chosen songs for the ceremony were well adhered to. The quality of the music was excellent. The microphones for the ceremony worked out beautifully, both those for us and the stand mike used for our readers. We found the price for their services reasonable and deeply appreciated their easy-going business demeanor. Additionally, their set-up and take-down proceeded without a hitch on our end. Unfortunately, there were some negatives, which we were able to move past but did notice. The wrong song was initially played for the father daughter dance, which though rectified later constituted one speed bump. A few of the songs we specifically requested played were not, including the one I had selected and sent the track for specifically to Top Hat for the garter toss. Additionally, in my interactions with Top Hat's office I did not get the impression of tremendous organization, and leading up to the wedding they mistakenly indicated that they would send an extra person and a photo booth when we had made no such request. Thankfully this was rectified before the wedding after I contacted them. Also, toward the end of the reception our DJ was preparing to pack up at 10:00 PM when our contract specifically indicated that music was to continue until 10:30 PM. Thankfully, between the Innkeeper and myself we were able to keep the music going. Finally, in a more minor incident the DJ mixed up the names of our respective parents during a celebration of marriage dance that we had. The DJ services they provide are most definitely solid and their equipment is excellent. I would simply be prepared to be vigilant with them as a client in the lead up to an event and during the event itself. read more

Very solid, competent DJ for our wedding. The transitions between songs and genres could have been smoother, but we got everything we requested and nothing we blacklisted. His pacing throughout the night, and timing on introductions and announcements was great. read more

We used Top Hat as our music for our cocktail hour and reception at our barn wedding in Arlington, VT. Damon did a spectacular job! He was very professional, had a great presence and was on top of all of the details. We requested a mix of spanish music (salsa/merengue) as well as the usual dance music and he did a great job of mixing the two up and keeping both sides of our family happy and dancing! He was even attentive to our timeline with our photographer, pulling us aside to make sure we did our cake cutting and mother-son/father-daughter dances while she was still with us. I received multiple comments from guests stating how great the DJ was, open to suggestion and playing the perfect mix of american and spanish styles to keep everyone happy. We couldn't have been more pleased and happy with Damon. His professionalism and experience made our evening a wonderful hit! read more

Mark from Top Hat is absolutely wonderful. He was the DJ for our wedding this past weekend, and he kept people smiling and dancing (even those guests I was pretty sure wouldn't get up) all night. From the ceremony music to the last song....it was wonderful, and he was such a pleasure to work with. It was everything I wanted....it was perfect. Daren from Top Hat was the DJ at my wedding a few weeks ago. My husband and I could not be happier with our choice to hire Top Hat! They were very attentive to detail and made time to meet with me and call me to go over everything I needed before the day of the event. When the day came, they did exactly as I asked and played appropriate softer music during dinner and cocktail hour, and then played dancing music for the rest! My guests were out on the dance floor the entire time, and they were so happy to hear the songs they had requested on their RSVP cards! Daren also did a great job at keeping the entire day very organized. He announced what needed to be said, came to my husband and I before he announced anything, and walked us through what we needed to do and where we needed to be. It was so great to have an experienced DJ to help us out with this! I would highly recommend Top Hat to any other bride and groom, or anyone throwing a party!! read more

So so disappointed... Worst memory of my wedding.. The DJ that I requested was all of a sudden unavailable. I sent them a list of song requests that my guests requested on my response card... He did not play a single one from that list. He by past the list and went straight to the second list of filler songs I had just in case. The wedding coordinator and Dj did not have any communicate so my wedding party announcement just couldn't be done... And to top it all of the announcement song he played as he just announced us was the wrong song!!!!!!.... The $1000 photo booth was a glorified cardboard box!!!.... When I told them how unhappy and disappointed I was he just said... O well!!!.. They don't care.. They got there money.. Real class act... I could keep going but what's the point.. I just hope that someday I will look back and not focus on this very disappointing memory only on the good of that day.. Please rethink before you deal with these crooks. read more

Top Hat Entertainment is fantastic! They brought so much fun to the reception and provided us with some wonderful memories from our wedding. The quality of the photos were great and the customer service was phenomenal! Our guests had a blast using the photo booth and we were able to use the photos as additional party favors. Top Hat Entertainment formed when Scott LeCours, Daren Cassani and Damon Brink decided to join forces to create a DJ company that was responsive to the needs of the client. As we have grown, we have added several DJs (many who had prior disc jockey experience working for other companies), and established a full-time, walk-in office in South Burlington, Vermont to appropriately handle the wishes of our clients. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed by the quality of service that was delivered by Fulton…read moreMusic. To start off, Michael did not follow the timeline of events provided whatsoever. Toasts were supposed to be sprinkled in every 10 minutes within dinnertime, but over 45 minutes passed before Michael called anyone up to toast. This seriously delayed the flow of events and cut our dancing time very short. The worst part is that my maid of honor was the one reminding Michael about the order of events and eventually took a microphone and started announcing instead. Later in the evening, Michael randomly announced that we would be having our first dance when we were not ready. This caused a huge awkward moment because there was no room for dancing and guests were looking at us waiting for us to have our dance. I'm very confused as to why I would be even asked to provide a timeline if Michael did not follow it. The thing that hurt me most is the fact that Michael completely botched our first introduction as a couple. We asked for a specific song to be played when we entered the room but our song was not played until we were at our seats across the room. This was very awkward and shifted the energy in the room. Next, Michael's transitions were extremely long, silent and awkward. Michael did not play music or say anything during transitions. These transitions did not flow naturally, were filled with heavy silence and lasted a long time. Things got so bad that we avoided adding in more events/announcements because we knew Michael's transitions would be uncomfortable. Next, I indicated on the DJ Questionnaire that only clean music was to be played. Towards the end of the evening, Michael played music that was extremely explicit. This was offensive to ourselves, our friends and our family who don't uphold those values. Next, Michael's microphone was echoey and guests could not hear what he was saying for most of the night. When Michael announced things, people looked at each other confused and questioned each other about what was said. A few days after my wedding, I reached out to Michael to discuss what happened. I explained why I was disappointed in the service I received and I was met with an aggressive response. Michael told me all the mishaps were my fault and I could seek legal action if I wanted to. This reaction was very hostile, especially because I was simply expressing the things I was disappointed with and I did it in a respectful way. Michael expressed to me that he needs couples to have a day-of-coordinator in order to perform his job effectively. Apparently, the DJ Questionnaire he provides and a timeline of events is not enough for him to know what to do during our big day; he also needs a resource person to tell him what to do. I don't have anything against this, but it came as a surprise to us because we were never made aware of this before hiring Michael. I don't think we would have hired him if he had told us he needed an additional person to keep him on track. Finally, Michael blamed us arriving 20 minutes late to the reception as the reason the timeline was off. I understand we were late, but that's something that happens at weddings (20 minutes is a very small delay). I guess this delay threw Michael off so bad that he gave up on announcing events. I strongly discourage people from booking Fulton Music because you will spend a lot of money to receive a service that one of your untrained friends/family could provide.

My husband and I got married 10-1-16 in Enosburg Falls and our DJ truly made the night! They called a couple days before to chat about the notes we gave. The DJ was so much fun and genuinely seemed excited about our upcoming day...what more can you ask for!?!? As for the day unfolding...it was perfection! They were seamless and so accommodating. I missed it, but they apparently even allowed a friend of mine visiting from LA to get up on the mic and start her own karaoke! We've heard…read morenothing but ravs about him from our guests....who were on the dance floor from the moment the music started till the end of the night. We even had a couple of guests who wanted to pay Jason to stay longer. We were a little skeptical about hiring a dj that typically is a club dj for our wedding but turned out to be one of the smarter decisions we made. He really could not have done a better job. He incorporated our tastes into the night but was able to read the crowd and keep them happy. Completely professional and a great guy.

He's a good guy and plays great music, and his rates are incredibly reasonable. Only slight complaint is that he has his own ideas about what good music is, and some guests told us that they requested songs that he refused to play! But I sort of respect that, and the music he did play was awesome. We nearly hired someone much more expensive to come up from Boston, which would have been exceptionally stupid. Evan is highly recommended.
