Came in ready to buy a fishing cart clearly marked outside for $240.99. Even one employee agreed on the price. Then another employee came over from the gun store next door, and suddenly changed it to $249.99 while I was checking out. Lost a sale over $9 instead of honoring the posted price. I had already spent money there multiple times this week and came back specifically to buy that cart. Poor customer service and zero effort to make it right. He was also quick to rip that tag off, so I couldn't go back out and even look at it again. I didn't complain, just told them to have a good day and walked out. I know my little bit of money doesn't matter, but if you treat enough customers like that, you won't have to worry about it. read more

Excellent selection, knowledgeable staff, coming from a Californian the tackle, bait selection of live and frozen, as well as prices blow California bait shops out of the water. Making life difficult for their customers, they have teeny signs posted that they give a discount for cash. What they really mean is: they charge a hefty fee for payment by credit card, even debit cards. If you use two cards to pay for your purchase (for example, using a gift card)- you will be charged the extra fee TWICE. There are better tackle shops in the area that are happy to have your business; skip this one. read more

After reading other reviews I was weary. This place was great. The kid at the counter and I swapped stories for a bit and I left with exactly what I came in for. Good tackle shops are rare in touristy areas in other parts of the county. This place is a gem. read more

Things have changed for the better here. Staff is much more friendly and helpful. Not sure if they went through a management change but the store layout changed and the people are much more welcoming now. The grocery store next to them closed the location so I hope it doesn't hurt Top Gun's traffic. read more

I went here because Mo' Fishing down the road was out of shrimp, so he sent me here. The first visit, left me unaware if there was even an employee present in the building, so I perused the nice selection of fishing gear while waiting for an employee to emerge. When he did appear, he was swamped by the 5 or 6 people in the place who all wanted bait. He seemed pretty short with everyone. The second visit left me with nicer more attentive employees, who gladly "threw in a couple extra small shrimp." A very odd warning that the shrimp might die if I didn't put them in another container was given. Well, I rushed back to the dock to transfer the shrimp into my bucket designed specifically to let river/sea water flow through it, and I found that all the shrimp were already dead. Was I warned that they "might die" because they were already knocking on death's door? Overall, the staff is friendlier, and the bait of a more alive variety down at mo' fishing, so if you aren't faced with the rare circumstance that he is sold out of bait, pass this place and go there. note: this place does have a few items tangentially related to fishing that a pure tackle shop might not including Costas (and other sunglasses and sunglasses accessories) and a larger selection of rods and reels. read more

Horrible customer service. Went in for a basic replacement tip for a rod, and the employee would not sell it to me. She wanted the rod in the store so that they could replace it themselves and charge a repair fee. No thanks! read more

Very helpful! Gave a great recommendation on a fishing charter too(FishBones Fishing Charter). We stayed right across the street and my teenage boys went in at least once a day for bait to fish off the beach! They were great with the boys! Gave them tips and an education on the fish they would catch! Would recommend highly! read more

Bought bait here 3 times while we were in town. The little lady behind the counter was pleasant and very helpful, and the store was clean and simple. Very good experience here, will be back when we come to GS again. read more

Great store location whether fishing on the pier and the beaches I fish. Wide variety of hooks and tackle and I find most everything I need at one time. The bait is usually very dependent and sometimes they may be the only one with Live bait. Improved the store since these last reviews it seems. read more

The worst customer service I've ever had. The first time there the guy helped some but seemed annoyed. I went back a couple of days later and when I asked a question he just responded with a smart comment and never answered any of my questions. I finally gave up on getting any real answers and asked for for bait, he seemed to be annoyed with me for having to get up and go get the bait from the back. After talking to other customers they all said the same thing. I will never go back and strongly suggest to anyone to find a different bait and tackle store read more
