My first day with the keys I realized the kitchen counter was not at all attached to the kitchen counter and there was a leak in the pipes underneath the kitchen sink. After living there for two days the handle to the shower faucet broke off completely - this might not have been something he could've caught but I feel like as an inspector you would typically have a better eye than the average person for things like that. Although I did think that Brian was good at explaining everything, I was just a bit disappointed to find these things immediately.

For the general inspection Spencer looked over the house from top to bottom. Because the home has well and septic Mark concentrated on that. After a few hours we received the inspection report and Spencer sat down with us and went over it in detail. After the inspection was over the next few days we were provided with the 360 degree tour and a floor plan of the house which has really come in handy. The gas was turned off for the…read morehouse, the inspector turned in written documentation to the buyer stating the gas furnace and water heater were not working and required a professional to come in to fix or replace them. (Did not even check to see the line was turned off. The gas company even tagged the connection as being shut off.) Upon have the utility company come back to turn the gas line back on, they inspected the furnace and seen someone had been messing around in the furnace and broke off a piece of the ignitor. I have documentation stating the inspector had opened the furnace trying to start the furnace. The furnace is less than 12 yrs old and was working great, up until the inspection. Coincidence . . . I don't think so. Now as the seller, I get to pay for the repairs!!

Our realtor had given us a…read morecouple of recommendations for inspectors and after seeing the reviews for Kurt and checking out his website, I was sold. The website was easy to use, you can book online, and you can see the pricing for every item as you're booking so there are no surprises. He even called while I was booking to make sure I didn't have any questions and I actually did so he explained each option on his site and didn't try to sell me any more than what we needed! The pricing was extremely fair and reasonable. I was able to get an appointment with him for the very next morning and you can pay online, with cash, or with a check so lots of convenient options. He showed up early and began by taking pictures of the outside of the house and of the roof (with a drone, so cool and great picture quality!). He gave us an overview of what we could expect and then went over everything as we went through the inspection. He was thorough, professional, and great at explaining everything we needed to know. Later in the day we received the final report that goes over every item and is color coded based on urgency. It also includes a suggestion of who you should contact to fix each item (i.e. electrician, contractor, plumber, DIY, etc). He has a sample report on his website that I would highly recommend taking a look at! Finally, after all was said and done, he sent a follow up email letting us know that we could contact him anytime with questions. Overall we had a fantastic experience with Kurt and I would recommend him to all of my friends and family!

He took the time to explain the terminology and was very honest about the parts of the house that should be replaced sooner vs later. I appreciate that the full report contains recommendations in addition to the issues noted.
