They were very knowledgeable and professional and issued an 80+ page report with several photos. Although our new home appeared to be in pristine condition, they discovered several "hidden" safety issues (such as problems inside the chimney) that would have cost us thousands of dollars in repairs later on. We are so grateful to Reckner for not cutting corners and giving us a thorough report! We will gladly recommend Reckner to our friends, and if the need arises, we will definitely use them again prior to purchasing another home in the future.

As a result of his thorough inspection and explanation, I was able to prioritize the items requiring immediate attention and identify which items needed remedy repairs before continuing with the purchase of the home. Chris personally answered my call to schedule. He was able to arrange the inspection at a time that I could attend, and worked within the timelines of my purchase contract. With his expertise, he was able to inspect all aspects of the home I needed inspected in the same visit and estimated the inspection time at about 3 hours. Chris was patient and took the time to speak with me and explain the process and arrangements. At the time of inspection, he arrived just ahead of schedule and was friendly and efficient. Price was high and the inspector put a screw through wires in the electrical panel. I heard him…read moreyell because of the shock. He said that everything was fine. When my son put the electric bill in his in name for the the condo, he was told to flip the main breaker. It would not fip back and we called our electrician to fix it. He needed to splice wires, it was a simple repair but the bill was $260, for travel, parts time etc. I'm going to bill the insurance company for First In but he also missed a lot of expensive repairs needed. My son was a first time buyer, he is smart but never knew what to look for in his purchase, trusted the realtor (and he is an ok guy but needed to make the sale, my son acted too quickly and I really dislike the unit, others in a similar price range seemed well maintained and updated. He was shown 3, told that was usually the way it is done and never negotiated anything (he's a scientist and pretty much focused on little else, needed a roof over his head and acted too quickly.) So he passed up places that had newer windows, updated kitchens, etc in the same price range . I'm also looking for a condo so I saw those choices but he'd already started the process (he's an adult and I wasn't involved but I have bought real estate before and knew a little bit about what to look for when "investing in a home".) He didn't have a clue and grad student places are what he was used to so here we are. I'm unhappy with the inspection because I immediately saw things that weren't mentioned so here we are. He'll lose money when he sells because it's not worth it for him to update or replace torn screens but it really needs new windows and doors. And flooring. Sigh. He'll live with it until he gets married and sells. Oh well. I'm the one who fixed everything in here so I learned by my mistakes. He'll do the same.

I contracted DeFazio Company to install a privacy fence, and the entire experience was frustrating…read moreand unprofessional. After weeks of poor communication and multiple follow-ups on my part, the crew finally showed up on September 17th with less than an hour's notice. The owner, Nick, called me irate about our "newly installed lawn" -- even though he knew about it, had been on the property on August 27th, and we had already discussed sprinkler shutoffs in advance. His tone was so aggressive that I felt threatened and uncomfortable speaking with him, and from that point forward I directed him to communicate with my husband instead. The crew left, then later returned to begin installation. The foreman admitted that the wet ground was actually caused by a neighbor's sprinklers, not ours, and was segregated to a small portion of the yard. Despite assurances that excess dirt would be raked out along the fence line and moved to low spots throughout the yard (and any remaining dirt to be placed along the side of the house), they left a truckload of dirt in the middle of our backyard and did not rake any dirt out along the fence line. On top of that, the double gates were installed backwards after having in depth conversations about how to install the gates and which side on the double gate would be the main door. The excessive conversations happened mid-install when we were told that if the double gate is installed on the side of the house we originally requested, it would be installed 8 to 12 inches off the ground (obviously unacceptable to all parties). When I raised concerns, the company agreed to fix the gates but ignored the issue with the dirt. Instead, they demanded the remainder of the payment and even came to my front door during the workday to collect, despite the job being unfinished and not as agreed. In the end, I had to rent equipment and spend my own time moving the dirt myself as well as contracting a lawn care specialist to replant the grass that was mutilated from the large pile of dirt left in the center of our yard. This was an unprofessional and disappointing experience. I have attempted to speak with DeFazio Company regarding these issues, but they have continued to demand payment without the willingness to work towards a resolution. I expect my final balance to be adjusted to reflect the work I had to do myself, along with a formal acknowledgment of their mishandling of the project. If this occurs, I will update my review to acknowledge this.
