I paid a lot of money to sign up for the online classes that Top driver offers. I need my license fairly quickly and I figured that an online class would get me there the fastest. In order to start the mandatory 8 hours of in car courses I needed to complete at least 2 hours of the online course to learn the basics of driving before I could get into a car. Fair enough. The only problem is, they never sent me my username and password required to start my online classes! I have called the company 4 times and emailed a head manager 10+ times trying to get this silly problem resolved. I still don't have my username and password. I have had to reschedule my first in car twice due to the fact I cannot log on to complete my first 2 hours. When I call the women I spoke too were rude and short with me, promised my problem would be handled by someone else, though it was never resolved. I'm tired of dealing with this company. Their customer service is terrible and I still waiting on an email I should have gotten in the first place. Save your money and your time and please take your business elsewhere. read more

The arrogant, condescending driving instructor made everything stressful and painful. I will never recommend this to anyone.

Absolutely horrible customer service. The website is completely broken and will not show me that any in car lessons are available. I have called Top Driver MANY times and have only gotten an answer once (this was the first time I called for a completely DIFFERENT problem, which was resolved). As for the rest of my calls? Completely ignored. I never even got one call back. I went to their office at Westerville to try and schedule something but they just told me that dates would be posted within 24 hours. I have checked their website every day since and STILL NOTHING has been posted. Absolutely terrible customer service. I should never have spent $300. The only thing saving this from a one star is the fact that the online classes aren't completely terrible. DO NOT DO IN CAR DRIVING LESSONS WITH TOP DRIVER. read more

I would not even give them one star. They schedule the Driver's Ed classes like crazy for the classroom portion but do not have enough (beginning to wonder if they have any) instructors to perform the required in-car hours. Working with their 800 number staff or local staff is impossible as they have not resolution. Their reply is to check the website. We check it continually and there have never been any availability 4 weeks out. Wish I would have read these reviews prior to signing up with Top Driver! Seems to me that they take your money and could care less if you're able to complete the course. When I asked if I could go to another company to compete the in-car hours they said I would have to start all over again and take the classroom classes again because they don't transfer and if I wanted a refund they would keep $175. From other reviews on the BBB I don't believe they ever send the refunds if you request one. DO NOT USE TOP DRIVER IF YOU EVER WANT TO COMPLETE THE COURSE. read more

I have to agree with the other reviews on this site. My daughter signed up for the Ohio online course and worked through it in good time. We have tried to start scheduling her in car hours and cannot find a spot. They have an online system where you have to sign on multiple times a day to try and find a spot. I have been looking for over two weeks - signing on 2 or 3 times a day - and still have only found two lessons. This is the worst scheduling I have ever experienced. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this company. They are the worst scheduling experience I have ever had. read more

My son attended Top driver training in Feb 2013. There was a sub teacher there for a few of the classes and this sub teacher was way off topic primarily on the last night but primarily she made ultra-conservative comments about very controversial topics such as abortion and religion and stated that most rapes are just girls changing their mind. The worst came when she said someone should kill the president of the U.S. She backed up later in the night and said she didn't really wish "death upon the man" but wouldn't be too upset if someone did shoot him. She made these statements to 15 year old students who couldn't leave her class or risk not being able to drive a car. I contacted Top Driver mgmt and they said they talked to this teacher and let her know this kind of talk was inappropriate but let her stay teaching regularly in a classroom. read more

My daughter just finished her lesson with Vito, one of the instructors of the Top Driver classes in Worthington. Having gone through similar experiences with her two siblings who took driving classes at other schools, I am very impressed with the services we have received. I almost didn't enroll her because of all of the negative reviews but I'm glad that we decided to give them a chance. I have not had any trouble reaching anyone when I call the 1-800 number and each time the person answering has been extremely helpful. Also, Vito is probably the first driving instructor who has been very open, honest and thorough in his feedback with me about opportunities for growth and strength areas. I can't speak to others' experiences and I have heard several horror stories about "Scary Mary" who is an instructor at Thomas Worthington. I also wish that they would either get more instructors or limit the number of students so that the in-car slots aren't always full. But I also think they offer better services than other customers have given them credit for. read more

I am very unhappy with my experience with Top driver having used them twice and same experience both times. The customer service management is aweful and hard to reach. I would NOT recommend this company! Good luck trying to schedule your in car it has taken me over 15 phone calls, trying to get user name /password and check online daily with 2 - 3 months advanced timeline just to get on schedule! It takes a lot of personal time logging in and hunting for open dates never to find any. Then you get last minute cancellation option and teachers don't show up! I would NEVER recommend this company!! They had no problem processing and taking our overpriced fees though! Look for another service first you will be thankful ! read more

If I could give this company less than one star I would. I paid for my son's classes in May so he would be able to take his classes and in car over the summer, and hopefully have his license by the time summer was over with. The Hilliard office where he took his classes closed without warning leaving him with no way to do his in car. We contacted the corporate office after weeks of trying to scheduled an in car online...the first available they had was August 26 and the next was maybe the end of September... They would let me know. Oh and I have to take him to Westerville or maybe Dublin..they weren't sure. When he finally went for his in car they refused to let him drive on the street because they said his parent haven't done enough driving with him. I'm totally floored, I thought this was a driving school. Parents save your money this is the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. I can't even understand how these high schools let this horrible company work along side with them. read more

I was nearly rear-ended by an instructor driving solo in the TopDriver company car presumably because I was not going fast enough. I was going 5 mph OVER the speed limit. It's scary to think that someone teaching others to drive would drive in this manner. When I tried to contact the company, I was hung up on. I would NEVER send my teen to learn driving from this company. Beware parents out there. read more

We also had terrible service from Top Driver. My son had to take the online classes twice because the system somehow lost his records of completion. He was fine with it because he considered it a review. He tried calling the company a few times to confirm his schedule for in car training and never received a call back. I called and spoke to a woman who said he had never called (despite me being next to him when he did). We were told that he had all of his paperwork completed for the in car sessions only to find out that they could not find them on the day of his first in-car. The owner called me and said that if I was not able to produce them within 15 minutes that he would be charged $40. I explained that I was across town and had to return home to get our copies. We ended up getting reimbursed for the in car sessions because of the poor service and my son had to schedule the in car sessions elsewhere. Save yourself the hassle and go someplace else. read more
