From a distance the shelves look full, but up close there isn't much that stands out. Kind of a "Mona Lisa effect"--better from afar than up close. That said, the staff was friendly. One woman who worked there--short, wore glasses--was especially kind, though I didn't catch her name. The store is laid out nicely, and they had a lot of furniture available. If you're furniture shopping, this might actually be a good stop; the pieces looked decent and reasonably priced. They also appeared to use a color-tag discount system, though I'm not sure if it changes daily. About half the store was clothing, and the other half was bric-a-brac and furniture. I personally didn't find much this visit, but it could've just been an off day. I'd consider checking back in a couple of weeks to see if inventory changes. I did leave with one fun find: a vintage floating pool drink holder shaped like a rainbow, with space for ice and drinks--super cute and only $5. On the flip side, some prices felt off, like used wrapping paper priced at $3 when you can get a new roll at Dollar Tree for $1. Overall, it's worth checking out, especially for furniture, but don't go in expecting major thrifting treasures. Pretty cool that they are open on a Sunday, though. I will give them that. A medium size parking lot right in front. And a big grassy area if you have a dog that needs to go to the bathroom. Check it out? Definitely! Are there better thrift stores in Lakeland? Definitely!

If you are donating you should consider giving to actual charities instead of "for profit" enterprises unless you have no other choice. If you do give know less than an 8th of the total profits goes to those in need. Donating is easy here just pull up, unload and go. If you need to get rid of items in a hurry or can't deal with finding just the right place for your items this place may work for you. All that said, sometimes you need to buy inexpensive or items on the fly and you check out Goodwill. We had pretty good luck shopping here at the Lakeland location for a few items. There is a main big room and a secondary smaller room and both share walls with an employee only section. The furniture is in the back room with some household stuff while the front room has clothing for all, accessories , linens, appliances, dishes, small appliances, toys, glasses, etc. They sell some new items that are close outs or extras from companies and donations from individuals. The employee only area is the heart of the operation. The donations come in a door in the drop off area on the outside right side. The stuff is loaded into bins and carried in to be sorted, priced, and later put out. You can't buy things that are newly donated till they are processed. It seems strange to not sell newly donated stuff to willing buyers but they have their protocols. The mark up here is pretty high. Some furniture was too highly priced for condition. There was a ton of linens that could have been gotten for similar prices at discount stores on sale. The selection varies as well as some things are in good condition while some are stained, broken and/or ripped. Employees are nice and friendly for the most part. We dealt with several and most were helpful. You can't blame them that they work hard and the company takes all the money. I digress. If you need things at an inexpensive price come check it out but know what the items you need are worth prior to arriving. This way you know you got a deal and avoided getting taken. Additionally, you'll know whether you need to shop at another store instead

The Wildwood Antique Mall of Lakeland is part of the Wildwood Antique Mall chain. Wildwood Antique Mall claims to be one of the largest antique dealers in Florida. It was started in 2011, when 77-year-old Manny Pesco took his last $4,000 from his former auction business that had closed because of the 2008 recession and invested the money into the first Wildwood Antique Mall that took its name from the intersection it is located on. Other locations opened in Eustis, Vero Beach, and Titusville opened in the intervening years and the investment turned out to be a good one since all of the locations do around 5 million dollars annually. What makes this antique mall different from the other stores in the chain is the abundance of merchandise available from the theme parks. I found booths for both Universal and Disney items. The fun starts when you walk in the door and there is a carriage from Disney's Port Orleans resort out front and you are greeted by a velociraptor straight out of Universal Studios just inside the door. Wildwood Antique Mall of Lakeland has all of the typical booths of antiques you would expect to find but my favorite booths were the ones filled with Disney and Universal Studios merchandise. Recycling the Magic had a Splash Mountain log flume car, Vault Collectibles sells Disney and Universal studios props, and Melly's Remarket sells Disney art. My favorite booth was the Jurassic World Tribute store in the back of mall with a ton of Universal Studio items. They had an extensive horror collection and many other one of a kind items. I especially loved all of the Haunted Mansion items I found throughout the mall. If you are a theme park fan like me this is a must stop if you are in Lakeland. Prices for the real collectibles were more than I could afford but I found a Haunted Mansion Loungefly for only $25. There is something for everyone. Allow a few hours for a visit because this antique mall feels never ending. I could have easily spent all day here.

The…read morebuilding appears to be in decent condition but the a/c wasn't working properly and the workers kept grumbling about it. Many, if not most of the items were extremely picked over and in poor condition and over-priced. Then, those exact same items were price-tagged in red and were only 50 cents that day. Was that deliberate to sell them or just a coincidence? Also, certain price tag colors had discounts but it depended upon the cashier to determine if they were going to honor that discount or not. They had appliances in bad shape; broken, rusty, and no price tags. On the other hand, many pieces of furniture on the floor appeared to be right out of a store and priced quite high ($150 for one end table) for a thrift shop. Are they new or used? Some were obviously used, others I just couldn't tell. The clothing section was very large and seemed quite poor. Although, a woman before me found a treasure trove of '80s suits someone donated in excellent shape and she bought them all. I'm not interested in them, but it did get me thinking that if one was hunting for things like that, then this place would be one to keep in mind. There was a media room (electronics?, not sure) and books in another area through a doorway, that I did not check out. Only the cashiers were masked. The workers stocking things were masked when we first arrived but soon took them off, and were grumbling about that as well. They seemed to grumble about a lot of things. The biggest problem with this thrift shop is that the loading of purchases and the unloading of donations happen in the same area: the front doors of the store. People show up in very large pick-up trucks with flat bed trailers and park in front of the store and literally block the doors and make the first row of parking spaces very difficult to pull in and out of. Will we come back here? Maybe. Might wait a few months and check this place out again.

There's a decent amount of clothing, but nothing that really caught my attention. Along the walls are various knickknacks and random small items -- the kind of things you might pick up for under a dollar. That said, the best part of the store (by far) was the card selection. They have boxes of individual greeting cards -- Christmas, birthday, and miscellaneous -- for about $0.25 each, all brand new and blank inside. Some were funny, some were really pretty, and for that price it's a total steal. I found a Christmas card for a quarter, and my friend found a small zipper pouch that was perfect for tossing into her backpack. If you're someone who loves cheap, random little finds like that, this might be worth a stop. They also had some kids' items, a few books, and I noticed a couple of nice plates, but overall the store felt pretty bare. Unfortunately, the service was a big downside. The man working there didn't greet us and seemed very eager to close -- repeatedly announcing how many minutes were left until closing. I understand wanting to wrap up the day, but it made the experience feel rushed and unwelcoming. There's also a strict $5 minimum for credit cards, so I had to go back to my car to dig up change just to buy a card. I get it from a business perspective, but the delivery could've been friendlier. Overall, it was a strange little thrift store and not one I'd go out of my way to revisit. I might stop back strictly for the cheap greeting cards, but not for the service or general shopping experience.
