My story: I downsized....then I downsized....then I downsized... I met a woman at one of my yard sales who was buying for this thrift store. So we (me and my friends / family at yard sale) filled up her van! That was a few months ago. Then 3 weeks ago I called the store and asked if they could pick up some things. They did - they showed up yesterday with a box van and I did a very good job of almost filling it up! The pick up men were incredibly sweet, nice, respectful and profusely thanked me for the donation. I told my 82 year old mother about it and she was beaming! I could have had another yard sale and maybe got some $ - but I feel much better about donating to them. They are doing an awesome job of helping others! They will continue to receive my donations as long as I live in Lake Wales!

I have always wanted to visit Forever Vintage and Surplus and I finally got the chance when my route took me near on a recent trip through Central Florida. Forever Vintage and Surplus specializes in all kinds of Disney merchandise. They sell clothing, accessories, collectibles, art, home goods, and even furniture from the resorts. There is a main room with collectibles and household goods, a smaller side room with clothing, and a warehouse with furniture and other larger items. If you are a Disney fanatic then this store is a wish your heart makes. They had amazing bags, a sparkling princess tiara, one of a kind collectibles, Christmas ornaments, fabulous Haunted Mansion merchandise, and even an Indiana Jones fedora. Prices ranged from a few dollars to many hundreds of dollars depending on the item. Service was top notch and the store smelled amazing. If you want to bring a little bit of the Disney magic home with you, this is the place to shop.

I enjoyed shopping at this wonderful thrift store during a trip to Winter Haven. It is located in a…read morehistoric art deco building that Publix founder George Jenkins opened on November 8, 1940 as the first modern Publix. There are pictures of how the Publix looked in 1940 on the wall opposite the checkout. Proceeds from the sale of items benefits the parish ministries which give food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless, and clothing and financial assistance to those in need. All items are donated to the church and then sold in the store. i was really surprised how large this store is. There were multiple rooms of home goods, books, sports equipment, art, small electronics, holiday decorations, and clothing. They even had wedding dresses. I especially loved the vintage room as soon as you enter where I found the Pyrex casserole dishes I adore. Also in the front of the store is a religious section with new items.
