I went here and got shoulder length boho braids. I had to purchase my own boho hair. At the end of getting my hair done. I was told that it was $300. I was completely shocked. While trying to figure this out, they started talking amongst each other in their language as if I wasn't there. The price was not discussed prior to, so part of this is my fault but as a business, they did not even try to work with me. One of the ladies informed me that because they had to use the boho hair it was an extra fee(even though it's not included) and it took longer with two people in my head. One of the ladies doing my hair did 2 rows in the back, went and changed clothes and left to go order food. After the food arrived she sat down, ate and took her time coming back to my head. Take your lunch break but blame the length of time yall took on me. A client arrived an hour or more after me and left before me. On top of that I don't even like my hair.. worst experience ever getting my hair done. The price is a huge reason but not liking my hair is the worst part of it all. read more

What is the point of calling and making an appointment if in the end you're still going to have to wait an hour before they service you. Don't be fooled by the pictures, this is NOT a salon it is just like all the other braid shops. I arrived a like 5 minutes early for my appointment. I announce myself and tell them I have an appointment. I'm told to sit down in the waiting area. After sitting for a few minutes, the owner looks at the time and then tells me that it will be an hour before they can service me. No apologies, no conciliation prize - just very matter of fact. I made an appointment with Mariam for my daughter's hair for Saturday, August 1st at 8 AM. However, I inquired about the final hairstyle my daughter wanted. I sent Mariam a text on that Friday morning, asking how much that style would cost. When the afternoon rolled around, I realized she hadn't responded to my inquiry. So I called her twice, at that moment and then later on in the evening. She never answered my calls nor had she responded to my text. She had always in the past responded to texts and phone calls. I then realized she must not want my business (which would have been over $400 for my daughter and for me). I had to scramble and find another braider. I thank God that I was able to find a very talented braider who travels to your home. Not only did she do a fantastic job on my daughter's hair, her prices are nearly half of what Top Braids charges, including her travel fee of $25.00. Top Braids lost 2 new customers, because I was going to have Mariam do my micro braids the followingweek. I'm a business owner and understand customer service all to well. Even if your client (or prospect) is picky and asks a lot of questions, doesn't mean they should be ignored. Especially when one is willing to pay your higher prices. Mariam, thanks for ignoring me. They started my knotless braids at 10 am, we ended at 1 pm, almost on the dot for both times. Very efficient system they have going there. Two ladies braided my hair simultaneously. They did very neat work, I got a lot of compliments on them. And would definitely revisit to get my hair done again in the future. read more

It's sad that I have to write this b/c I actually liked this shop and the way she braided my hair! I called one day to get my hair braided and was told to send a picture of what I wanted done and to come at a certain time, just to get there and be told that they couldn't get to my hair and that no one was able to braid "short hair" mind you I just got my hair braided there 3 weeks ago. My hair wasn't washed nor blown out so how could she tell the actual length? even with the picture I sent, I was still told to come. It was a waste of my day and time. read more

I was referred to this salon by a good friend. I trusted her referral as she has had her hair done prior. I called/text for pricing and made an appointment with no problem. Appointment was for 9 am. I even confirmed the appointment two days prior. I arrive early on the day of the appointment. At 9 AM I go to the door and it is locked, no one inside the salon. 9:05 I text the # to inform I am here but the door is locked. I am texted back "Please be patient as you wait in your car outside. We are on the way." No apology nothing. I waited until 930, still no one. At 940 I get a call and a text. "We are here now you can come inside". Clearly we all know this is not how appointments work. By 930AM I already started making calls to go else where to have my hair done. By the time they arrived I was already driving to another braiding salon closer to my house. As soon as I arrived they were ready for me. This business clearly does not respect the time of their clients. If they did they would be on time or at least notify the client of their tardiness. I will not be returning due to their lack of professionalism. There is so much competition in Smyrna for hair braiding you would think they would take appointments more seriously. When I texted an hour later that I decided to go else where due to the 40 minute wait past my appointment time then an apology was finally given via text not we are so sorry please return for 10 off your service or anything to compensate me for my wasted time. It is a shame because I did hear good things and was looking forward to having them do my hair and being a regular customer. read more

After reading Sakeeena's review, I really should have heeded her warning. I made an appointment through Top Braids website for 6 a.m. (only because that was the only morning slot showing available), and after making the appt, I said let me give them a call anyway to confirm. A woman answers my call, and says 6 o'clock?, and I said yes I know that is early, can we do 7? She speaks to someone and said yes, 7 is fine. Two days pass and my appt is for the next day. I'm getting ready to leave work and I say, let me call and just confirm again, even though I really shouldn't have to, but I'm going to go ahead and call, just to be safe. I call, woman answers, I ask about my appt, she speaks to someone, comes back to the phone and says Yes, she'll see you at 7. So let me give you one guess what happened?? Right, I get up and I'm wanting to make sure that I'm not late for the stylist, so I leave my house, still dark out, but I make it at 6:59, Good because I hate being inconsiderate of someone elses time., silly me., smh. I wait, and wait, til 7:20 comes and I'm like oh no, I'm calling. I call, no one answers, but in the middle of my call, my other line is beeping. Sleepy, still in the bed voice comes on and says, "hello, Good morning". So you know the spiel already. I told her my grievances, she sighed like she knows she has bad workers, and I said what I said to her and told her after sitting in the cold and being told today was good, I was leaving and I hung up. So 1 Star was way more than "Top Braids" deserved., and the next time I feel like giving someone a chance, I'll just follow their advice. Their time may not be valuable to them, but for me, now I can't get that time back. And it's too bad because I work with a lott of women and I would've loved to have given a review.
