They are charging 40$ for a cover fee like this is Chicago. (This was on a Saturday) that's just crazy considering this used to be rivals.

Ok, so I came here based on that I love a good tiki bar, walked in and knew it's a dive bar. That's…read morecool cuz I love those too! I did ask the bartender if she could make a zombie and got a reply of what the heck is that? Still cool. I'll take a beer. It's definitely a locals bar, all good. But if you are walking in solo and not from the area, this isn't the place for you. I tried to ask the bartenders name, something I do so when I go back etc and maybe to have a conversation, they were more interested in getting back to the regulars and chat. I did get it, but it was just a weird exchange. All in all, service was just fine, I got my cold beers timely as I had a few before moshing to another spot, but if I want to sit and drink alone I can do that at the hotel. If you are with a friend go in and party on! I'm really only dinging because the name is misleading. I'm guessing that was the original intention and the area just doesn't want that and so it's a shift. It's all good, just different.

Best bar in downtown Crown Point for the night life scene. They are a real hidden gem for foodies in Northwest Indiana, it's not your typical bar food. Their birria tacos and smash burgers are amazing, and they started having smoked wings on the menu that are so good. They also make their own biscuits and gravy. The quality isn't something you'd expect from the nightlife scene, it's the best kept secret in the CP Square right now.

Bon Vie is a lovely little gem along the river. Ridiculously inviting restaurant set in a home…read morebuilt in 1895. Very serene & frenchy as soon as you walk in. The owner & hostess was extremely bright & engaging & provided the perfect table for our party of 4 adults plus my 1 year old nephew. The table bread was a beautifully light & herby focaccia paired w some sort of artisan butter. Definitely hit the spot. All entrees were really nicely done. I so enjoyed the scallops appetizer as my entree. Perfectly cooked & seasoned & served w roasted garlic cloves & a luscious sauce. A lot of surprises & all of them reasons to return.

I have been wanting to go to this place for months because of the reviews and pictures I've seen, I…read morereally, really wanted to love it because of its uniqueness and level of quality, from what I heard. Unfortunately, when a place is this level of hype and price, the first trip means a ton and the expectations are high. The good: - awesome atmosphere, deck is great, and overlooks the lake. Couldn't be a better spot to dine out. - service was good, even though they were busy they didn't have us wait a while for anything. -scallops were excellent, perfect sear on them. The reason for the low review: - Beef Wellington.... It's rare to find and we heard so many people comment that's why they were they, including us. It says 10 oz filet, it was not tonight. It was some 3 sliced cut beef that was well well done. Despite being told it would be medium rare. - Seasoning. Nothing had salt or pepper. Everything had garlic. And by garlic I mean huge cloves of it. Both the scallops and filet had cloves of garlic all over. The filet was cooked great, but I didn't have any juice from the steak and the flavor was blown out by the garlic. Just refer to a majority of my reviews, more than willing to pay a premium price for an awesome dining experience, but the food is first and foremost important. Maybe we got them on a bad night, but unfortunately that was our experience. Edited to add pictures to review from 05June.
