My twin boys have been attending Learning Springs Academy for 5 mornings a week for almost 2 years…read more We found LSA by chance (just driving by) after negative experience in Creative Minds Preschool (Rose Room for youngest kids). After reading the mixed yelp reviews we decided that it is always better to see the new preschool in person. During the tour of LSA we were surprised with the friendly attitude of the staff, large classrooms, spacious playground and extensive parent involvement. We also had the chance to speak with the teacher of the Yellow Room, which was most important for us. Our boys were about 2.5 years old at that time and in process of potty training. The staff of the LSA Yellow Room helped us significantly by using fixed potty regime for the whole class. The school also provided us with daily communication report about the activities of the day, mood of the child, activities that our boys enjoyed and weekly homework. If there was a behavioral issue, it was quickly resolved and the teachers always found time and spoke with us privately. The kids were bringing home tons of art projects and both of them were happy. Everything was basically the opposite to what we suffered through in Creative Minds. LSA accommodated our request and tried the twins in separate and in the same classroom just to know what works the best for our boys. The school also organizes monthly Parents Nights Out, parties for Valentine's, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and other occasions, professional picture days twice a year... My boys are now in the Red and the Blue Rooms, getting ready for kindergarten next year. The teachers are wonderful, patient and try to do what is in the best interest of the kids. We as parents could not wish for a better school for our boys.

BACKGROUND: Five…read morestars is not enough for Lia and Luis! We've been to different daycares before finding this gem, and we can confidently say that we are happiest with Lia and Luis' care. We could not ask for a better experience! Our daughter attended for half a year, and our son is currently enrolled at Adventures in Spanish. WHAT SETS THEM APART: Academic gains: -There is NO television or screen time here, but rather lots of fun and academic enrichment: puzzles, circle time, art, music, etc. -Our son is learning many things (the alphabet, numbers, colors, etc) in both Spanish and English thanks to the careful and thoughtful planning of Lia and Luis. Holiday fun: -Lia and Luis also celebrate holidays in such memorable ways: around Easter time, they had a bunny visit. -For Christmas, Santa visited and the children put on the most adorable performance. -They even had a small Thanksgiving dinner for lunch the day before Thanksgiving, too. Health: -Lia and Luis maintain an immaculate and welcoming home that is not dirty at all. -kids get lots of time to play outdoors in their spacious and shaded backyard (I'm never worried about sunburns) -food is healthy and not ultra processed. Even on holidays/parties, candy is not distributed to children to eat (Lia and Luis respectfully wait for the parents to get the candy at pickup) Other: -Lia and Luis are such kind and warm people. My husband and I feel like we have family watching our children. If you are looking for a stellar daycare in SJ, look no further than Adventures in Spanish! We are so thankful we found them! They are also an exceptional value! I wish I had found them sooner!

The only reason we left was because we moved out of the area. We were very sad to take her out because she was learning a lot at the day care, including Spanish! Highlights - Lia offers home cooked, well balanced meals. Their home is clean and appropriately child-proofed. They have a good-sized shaded backyard for the kids to play. They do daily art/writing/drawing activities. They speak Spanish to the kids. Lia is also great about sending pictures. I could tell that my daughter enjoyed the day care because she never cried at drop-off. At pick-up she always had a huge smile and was excited to show me her artwork or drawing she did that day. I could tell that Lia and Yayo loved my daughter like their own, and I am so thankful that we found them.

I'm sharing this with a heavy heart. My son attended an iD Tech summer camp in summer 2025 and…read moreexperienced an assault from 2 other campers. He reported what happened to a counselor, but no action was taken to protect him, and the counselor failed to do his job. He didn't inform the camp director, though the director was aware there were other concerns with those 2 campers as they kept going into my son's room which I shared with her. As parents, we were never notified until my son finally felt safe enough to tell us last month. When I contacted iD Tech, I was put in touch with Kimberly Frinell. Initially, she seemed sympathetic, but communication quickly became sparse and then stopped altogether. It now feels like the company is hoping we'll just go away. This experience exposed serious gaps in training, accountability, and most importantly child safety. There appears to be no reliable system for incident reporting, escalation, or even contacting counselors from previous years. For a program this expensive, the lack of care and follow-through is unacceptable. id tech isn't a safe environment for children, and the way this was handled after the fact was deeply disappointing. I would strongly caution parents against sending their children here, and caution anyone considering working for them to think twice.

Our son did the Battlebots camp at UCSD. He did the day program, not the overnight program…read more Pros: He said the lunch was AMAZING, the actual Battlebots portion of the camp was fun and engaging for him but that this was only about 3 hours of his 8 hour day there. His instructor gave out heartfelt certificates at the end that showed he cared about and knew the students. Cons: While we signed him up for Battlebots camp, he spent ~3 hours a day playing Roblox and other computer games as part of his day (all the kids in his camp did). Additionally, his camp shared a room with a Roblox programing camp which he said made it hard to listen to his instructor because the other instructor was also teaching in the same space. (We went in the rooms, they are not large - they were smaller than his elementary school classroom).
