I've worked with this company in the past for electrical repair work related to older equipment and found Tool Service to be adept in this regard. With that in mind I was eager to take my Ridgid Brad Nailer to them for warranty work through the Ridgid lifetime warranty program as they are an authorized repair facility. For clarity, the issue with the tool was a single pin on the nail guide that kept popping out of place and causing reload problems. Nothing major, just a pin. I could have put some rubber cement on it to hold it in place but hey, it's got a lifetime warranty right? I dropped my item off without a hitch having already gotten the approval. They gave me my receipt and said they would be in touch in a couple days. I called a month later to inquire about the status and they had not received the part yet. OK, so I waited another month without hearing from them and called again. They told me the part was not available, and the item would have to be replaced. So far my only complaint was their lack of communication, understanding that this was pretty much out of their hands. A few weeks later I called again, aggravated at having to wait so long for this warranty work. I asked if the tool was still there and they said yes. I said I would just come and pick up the tool and fix it myself instead of waiting for Ridgid to get off their ass and do something. They said I could not have the tool back since it was going through the warranty process. I said, well it's my tool, it hasn't been fixed, you still have it, so I'm going to come and get it. They again said it wasn't possible, that Ridgid would have to authorize it. I said I would call Ridgid for authorization and call them back. When I called Ridgid, I was told that Tool Service had already called them and that I was going to have to wait for a replacement. So now I'm pretty angry that Tool Service is inserting themselves into my personal business and called to ask them why they had involved themselves in my issue with Ridgid. They said they had the right to get involved when I took my tool to them. Now I'm really pissed so I attempt to explain to this moron that what I pursue with Ridgid doesn't concern them and to stay out of my business. Long story short, regardless of how Ridgid handled this situation, these guys had no right to step on my toes and get into my business. Unbelievable lack of courtesy and professionalism on their part. I'll never go back to them and, unless you're completely out of options, neither should you. I would say I'm very fair when writing these reviews and however I can help others from experiencing poor service, I'm up for the task. This may have been singularly related to Ridgid warranty items, I'm not sure, but the lack of customer service and total lack of professionalism is inexcusable no matter what. read more

I bought a used rigid out of warranty from ebay so I already knew what I was getting into. I bought new electronic things broken out of the box before and that is most infuriating. Tool service inc is the only authorized ridgid dealer in Las Vegas, NV. I was quoted 60.00 and about 3 weeks or a bit more for the repair. Sure why not. I have a Mikita 5030 orbital sander that I use, anyway. Got done a bit more than two weeks and it works! I never used the ridgid before and I love the oscillating pattern it does. I took my Milwaukee urethane gun down to these guys. I was referred by a friend. I was told they do great work. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile. That rare now! The young lady asked for my information and then asked me what was wrong with my tool. I told her it was smoking when it got hot. She gave me a reference ticket. I told her no rush, this is a backup tool. Then the owner was around the corner and he showed me some of their new tools and things that might interest me in the future. A couple weeks later I received a call that my tool was ready. I definitely recommend Tool Service for your tool repair service. read more

Very good repair service on my Dewalt miter saw. Replaced the drop shadow light. Also had them upgrade the cutting head in my Dewalt 735 planer to a helic cutter. Very good communication and reasonable pricing. I would not hesitate to bring them any of my tools for more repairs. read more

So let me start off by saying that there was good customer service and they fixed my electric circular saw as good as new. I originally had to take my tool in to get the electric cord repaired because I accidentally cut the cord while I was ripping a door. I guess there's a first time for everything but once I did this I was thinking I may have to just suck it up and buy a new saw. After doing some research I found this company and decided to try them out even though there were no reviews. When I called them they had informed me that it would take a week which of course was not as quick as I wanted but I had no other choice. After dropping off my tool a week went by and I decided to call them. They stated to me that it was ready and I went to pick it up promptly the next morning. The price was very reasonable and when I got home I tried it out and it worked great. I wanted to give this business more stars but there were a few things that bothered me. First was taking a week to have it fixed. It should not take that long to replace an electrical cord. In addition, I prefer it if a business would call me to inform me when a service was completed. This was not done. These are just my criteria so if you feel that those criteria are not as important to you, you will definitely love this business. read more

I have been here a few times as they have the contract to do warranty service on multiple brands of tools. Recently took a battery powered impact driver there, they told me it needed a trigger and a motor $160.00 repair. Brand new bare tool is $149.00. Guess it's time for a new one right ? SOOOOO.... this is where things bum me out, I sold the "broken" tool on eBay for parts thinking well maybe it will help someone. Tonight I got an email from the tool buyer that it wasn't a motor or a trigger that was broken; it was one wire / solder joint that was stopping the tool from working and in total about a 15 minute fix from start to finish. It seems that Tool Service either is not a very good tool repair business or they are just part changers, either way this was the last time I use them. I am happy someone else got a nice tool on the cheap, but now I would think twice before using Tool Service as a business to fix my tools. read more

Delta Machinery has this business as a certified repair facility. The following is my experience... My table saw wasn't working so I took the motor and switch to Tool Service. When I took it in I was asked "What's your name today" and the guy was serious. He wrote my name and phone number down and handed me a claim ticket and said he would call me the next day I walked out, but went back in and had him write the description and serial numbers on the work order for my protection. 5 days later I called for the status and the guy on the phone said "I told you when you called the other day it would be a week and a half". I had not called prior to this and that his associate told me one day. His response was " No, no, no, a week and a half". I'm in direct customer service for my living and was appalled at being treated like this. Two days later I drove there to get my saw and switch. The guy tried to give me a tile saw. Dear Lord, the professionalism just doesn't exist at thus business. I've since taken my motor and switch elsewhere. Don't go to this business. read more

These guys have fixed a few things for me over the years. I've always been very happy with the service and repairs done. They seem to want to find the part under warranty, which caught me off guard. They've also given me a few tips about the maintenance on a couple of different tools. When I went in they were busy, and did tell me it would be about a week. Which was good to know upfront that it wouldn't be the next day in case I was in a hurry. They called me about a week later and said that impact gun would be more to fix than buying a new one. So they tried to steer me in that direction. Which was another shock, lol. In short these guys do business the way I wish everyone did business. I will definitely be coming back to tool service! I went into Tool Service again this morning. I got the excellent service for my Milwaukee drywall screw guns that I've gotten since the 1970's. They provided the replacement parts for a 1988 version with a discontinued part and provided a new cord for that model as well as a 1997 version. Excellent prices and great customer service. These guys know small power tools. read more
