Here's hoping. That aside, if you're within a 50-mile radius you should drop by and give this family business a try. The shop is cozy, and the variety of shoes, socks, sweaters, jeans, caps, other things on the shelves and hangers is impressive. Price point and vibe is comfortable. Like downstate meets Catskills in an approachable accommodating space. Thought and creativity clearly goes into how they select their ware, and I'd not be surprised to see all the young dudes sporting tight street sneakers and smart-looking jeans come the last snowmelt of spring. All turned out leaning on Main Street lamp posts watching the world go 'round. They've been open a month. Given the care and quality and welcoming atmosphere I expect they'll be here for years to come. Stop by and give these good people a try!

This is a tough review to write because as a mall, this one is rather small and there's not a lot…read moregoing on; but there is not a lot of population in this area to financially support a huge shopping mecca that you'd maybe find in Albany, Syracuse, Kingston, or even Binghamton. So you have to set your expectations correctly. Within 20 miles or more, there's really nothing else like a mall. Some of the stores are going to be a bit weird, or will go out of business after a few months, or whatever. As it is, this mall served its purpose; something for us to do for an hour or so to kill some time when it was raining. There was a book store that was not bad, and a foreign market which had some unique foods. If I lived in the area, I'm sure I'd be dropping the kids off here to run around and hang out for a while.

Would not have predicted that a shoe and boot store that we chanced into while in the area, is one of the best of its kind that I've been in anywhere, but it is : ) Much, much better than any we could have gone to we would have gone to back home in Brooklyn or anywhere in NYC. A large and well curated selection of outdoor wear, including a better selection of non-leather/all man made material than I've probably ever seen in one place. The owner could not have been more friendly and accommodating to us all, poorly organized and uncoordinated shopping units that we are, and the prices were a pleasant surprise to me. Extremely reasonable, no sticker shock, which I always expect and accept as part of buying things while on vacation and also my own lack of embracing the fact I still think it's 1982 when I look at what things cost. I usually like a boot and then put it back down after seeing the label, but not here. Buying shoes is generally a negative experience for me, much less when the whole family is involved, but I had a great time today and at least 5 stars to Foothills Shoe and whoever is responsible (Pretty sure it was the gentleman who was our salesperson). In all seriousness, especially if buying shoes is torture for you, this is the best outdoor wear shoe and boot store you will run into.

This is the best thrift shop in the entire catskill/Hudson Valley area. They have the greatest…read moreselection of every kind of goods you can imagine. They have artwork and antiques that are beyond belief. There is nothing that even looks used. About half of the clothing is absolutely brand new/unused and the remainder looks brand new. This is a new location which is larger than the old one and located in the center of Margaretville in a beautiful old building which is the cornerstone of the Village. They have frequent "Bag Sales" where you can fill a bag for a fixed price and also regular "2 for 1 sales". I'm so used to Silks and Treasures long list of items and brands they don't consign as they only have so much room because everyone consigns there that they want only things that can bring a larger sale which makes sense but so many gently used or barely worn items I couldn't bring went to Cornucopia and always sells. I've gained some nice returns at Silks but more than trippled that at Cornucopia in half the time. My consignment experience with Shakedown Street was awful. I never saw even one item I consigned on the floor and things like brand new bags and shoes which would have sold in a couple days, a week at most at Silks and Treasures were never bought at Shakedown. I consigned hundreds of dollars worth of clothing, bags and shoes and got one payout for 12 bucks and another for 22 bucks. That's it. Pretty sure they made a killing selling my stuff online, at least that's what I heard. Cornucopia actually let's you have your items back too if they don't sell which is the major draw for consigning there. And the store looks nice for the most part. My only complaint is the new clothes they have are too expensive so naturally people buy the used stuff. I've bought many nice dresses and jeans there this past year and they don't take out anything so I find myself looking for tank tops by pushing past the turtleneck sweaters but it's worth it. No fuss no worries no list to remember and I either pick up my cash or pick up my stuff if it ends up not selling so I never loose or feel cheated.
