The project turned out so much better than we had hoped. In addition to replacing the siding, the added Tyvek between the exterior walls and siding. This will help protect the walls going forward. Our previous windows were aluminum and never opened or closed well. They were always cold or warm depending on the weather. And we often felt a draft coming from them. The new windows are vinyl, nearly two times thicker, and much more temperate stable. They feel like the inside temperature. Also, they are double hung, so much easier to maintain. As a bonus, outside noises are much less noticeable. They replaced a double window in the back with dual opening French Doors. And eliminated a single door. The siding change makes it look like the door was always there. The new siding is also vinyl, but seems to be a thicker gauge than the previous siding. It's also foam backed, and this adds a little to the R value of the walls. Additionally, the siding is wider double 6" top to bottom versus the previous double 4". The panels are also much longer than before, so there are far fewer seams. I'm sure this contributes to the outside quietness we've observed. They also replaced the gutters. We went from small, white gutters to larger black ones. The downspouts are also black. Both serve to outline the house better than the previous ones. We've always needed a front porch. Both when it rains, so I don't get soaked when unlocking the door. And to protect the door from the relentless sun. We had previously replaced the door, and had the new one refinished and repainted a few times. The heat was enough to destroy the handle and the lock two times. (Our house faces due south, so sun all day, in every season.) This has been fantastic during the days it's raining. And our door has been much cooler. Between the gutters, the porch, the siding, and the windows our home no longer looks like other homes in our neighborhood. It's much more distinctive and we have received several compliments from neighbors.

It took them 8 hours and for the first 5 hours there was only one man at our home for installation. While my husband and I were checking on the progress in our son's room, the gentleman broke the window while trying to slide it down from the outside. On the company website, if you schedule a consultation you receive a $25 gift card. After inquiring several times we receive the gift card two months after the initial consultation. There are bubbles and inconsistencies in the caulk on all windows. A thick plastic strip was glued to our window in one of the bedrooms which was never discussed nor ask What attracted my husband and I to this company was the lifetime warrently, but after our experience I am certain that we would NEVER use there services again. The windows are decent, but installation and the final product was very poor quality with lack of attention to detail. I would NEVER recommend this company.

After fewer than 3 years a leak developed & the serviceman actually took the door to the tub with him to order & replace the gasket. That was weeks ago. Now, I cannot get anyone in Knoxville office to answer the phone much less return my calls inquiring about the status of the repair. I even left a message with the so-called "escalation manager." Another joke. My calls rotate over to what I assume is a main office & even they can't get Knoxville to respond to emails sent to the customer service representative. I will be visiting the office on Monday. If nobody is there to answer my questions, the next call will be to my attorney. I have NEVER had such a bad experience with any business!

Mountain Glass failed to provide service and did not contact the homeowner after taking the window…read moremeasurements, Mountain Glasse's' owner took measurements and said they would order the window and arrange for installation of the window within 30 days (this happened on 14 Jun 2023). After not hearing anything from Mountain Glass at the 30 day mark I called today on 21 July 2023. I talked to the owner who made the measurements, he said he didn't know what happened but would call his secretary and would let me know. The secretary called me and claimed she had no knowledge of the window but did find my call info she said she would contact the owner and get back to me. About an hour or so later I received this text; Quote request: I spoke to the owner, and we aren't servicing (your area) any longer. (Suggested other company) Sorry for the confusion Pam Why send someone out and tell me you are going to do the job then refuse to do it. If you won't or can't do the job that is fine, but why wait 5 weeks for me to call and find out? It is my opinion Mountain Glass dropped the ball on the job and didn't want to deal with making it right. I would not recommend this company.

How to you go from one to the other? Only in Knoxville, TN apparently. It would seem that from all that I've heard and experienced, certain fields of companies must be independently wealthy or have an adverse reaction to WORK and so, do as little as they can, if you can get them to come to your house and give you an estimate, which is highly inflated. A bone of contention--a bonus, if you will, if you've read this so far, is to stay away from Lowe's--either store in North Knoxville (South Mall Road and Clinton Highway) along with Home Depot for flooring and installing doors areas. So sad!
