I got a call after the initial inspection by the technician, and in a couple of days, the job was done. Start to finish in 3 business days for a complete flashing replacement on a chimney. Laura was wonderful and wrote out the details as we needed to satisfy the buyer that the job was fully documented. I liked that it came with a 2-year warranty that cools everybody's nerves when dealing with real estate. So much rides on documentation in these deals. Thanks Mobley. (Heads up-- paid by check. No credit cards.)

The owner worked with me on the cost to repair and after a year, I reached out because it appears that there may have been additional leakage. He sent out his employee the next day. He was at our house for over two hours researching and (I feel confident) resolving the issue. Through no fault if their own, they determined the short length of my gutter most likely is the issue. They adjusted it and we should be good. They have a 2 year warranty which he honored, no issue at all. I'm very appreciative! Highly recommended.

It's unfortunate that I must leave this review.. but with all the issues I was left with, I feel I…read moremust let others know. Firstly, the roof did turn out beautiful. Andrew was friendly and upfront about costs. He went over every part of the roof and anything that needed to be addressed. However.. He sent people over to my house at night without letting me know, I asked him not to do this- as I'm a female living alone. (which he did send guys here again, at nighttime with no notice). They decided to pick up the trailer at night, and damaged my retaining wall. In the morning, when I woke to find the damage, there was no messages on my phone from him. When I called, he said he "forgot to give me a call". The guys came out, without notice, at night, to fix it.. right before a rainstorm.. not the smartest. Next, if you expect that the roofing nails will not be found all over your yard since the contract says they run a magnet, well, so far I've found about 40. Stated on the contract, it does say things need to be removed from the walls... but I didn't think about ceiling light fixtures. Two panels broke, and again response was, "it's in your contract we're not responsible." Ok, I get that.. my fault.. Now, this is where I became more frusterated after all the other issues. They damaged two seperate parts of my gutters that DID NOT leak previously. Yes, they were old, but they wern't dagmaed. Again, when I let Andrew know, he said "it's in the contract we aren't responsible to damage to gutters". If you want an affordable roof, go with this company. However, be aware that you will likely have to deal with a series of issues afterward. Because between the retaining wall, my $300 ceiling light that can't be fixed, my gutters being damaged and a flat tire from the nails.. I'm very disappointed in Andrew. Also, if you expect him to be the lead on the crew and to be here to communicate with, as him employees don't speak english.. he won't be.

Turner Exteriors did an outstanding roofing job on my small office property in west Knoxville. They…read moreresponded promptly when I sent an inquiry, they gave a competitive bid, and worked to schedule the work around the needs of my tenant. When an issue with the trash dumpster came up on the day of the work, they called me and offered solutions that worked out well, and didn't cost time on the job. Their communication was excellent, as I had a few text messages and calls with William Hunt, the estimator. This communication was very important as I, the owner, live in Europe, so working around the time difference was important. The work was done on schedule, and properly. I would gladly recommend Turner Exteriors to anyone needing a top-quality roof installed.

Lance and his crew just finished a kitchen addition and remodel project for us, and I cannot say…read moreenough about his integrity, commitment to quality, communication, fair pricing, and flexibility. First of all, Lance stepped in when our original contractor had a medical emergency and could no longer complete the project. Lance was doing the footer work on our project and agreed to pick up where our contractor left off (with the same budget and timeline), and without much time to get to know each other and talk through our plans, I think we all crossed our fingers and hoped it would work out. It did. Beautifully. Lance navigated with ease and grace numerous city permits and inspections and so many supplier issues and architect flubs, including an incorrect measurement that ultimately required us to add a partial bathroom renovation to his contract. He personally checked on every aspect of our project, correcting work when it didn't meet his high standards and making sure his workers and subcontractors met deadlines and his expectations for workmanship. Every time I brought him an idea along the way, Lance was up for it and helped me figure out how we could make it work (much to my husband's chagrin at times!). When we called, Lance always answered, and he stayed in communication with us when we weren't on site, sending texts and pictures of progress daily throughout the almost 5 months of our project. After a few months, I trusted Lance to make decisions in my stead, and that says a lot, considering my Type A personality and specific design sense. He respects old houses and understood my aesthetic vision as well as my desire to preserve original elements of my 1940 cottage wherever possible. The end result speaks for itself. We consider Lance a friend now, but I think my hound dog Sadie misses her friend Lance and his crew most of all. Luckily for her, we have already called him about our next project.

I spoke with Lance and he scheduled a site visit to inspect my parents house in Knoxville. After site visit, I received a cost estimate for repairing water damage to main bathroom floor and replacing old toilet. I was notified right away, they had to purchase subfloor and a change order was submitted. Work was completed within 2 days and my parents were very happy with the finished work. All billing was done electronically, and receipts were autogenerated. We have a few more mini projects in the house and will contact Lance again. 5 starts for Big Bear Construction! Having been a foreclosure, we weren't surprised when we spotted leaks during storms. After over a year of contacting and soliciting roofers to take on our job, (the majority of which never even returned calls or submitted an estimate), we happened on MO SHINGLES. They had outstanding reviews but their website indicated they didn't service our area. Still, with a hilarious name like that, I couldnt resist contacting Old "Mo!" The owner, Andy, responded to our online inquiry within hours, and drove the distance to view our roof the very next day. He impressed us tremendously with his experience and frank understanding of the unique issues required to make our new roof both beautiful and one that would outlast us! My husband is a construction engineer, so he is picky, skeptical and not easy to satisfy! We were pleased with the quote we received from Mo Shingles. It wasn't a bargain-basement el-cheapo quote, but was extremely reasonable and more than fair considering but all the added special touches and premium quality material we received. We realized, with the materials that were quoted, that Andy thoroughly understood our goals and we were completely delighted. The crew was professional, clean and super courteous and friendly. (Amazingly-- none of the crew smoked on our property! We really appreciated having a group of non-smokers!) The job was enormous and took 5-6 guys daily for 5 days to complete. They cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day and took extra care to ensure the wind never blew any debris around. They have an onsite dump truck to haul trash off as needed. They discovered a number of issues with our old roof and fixed everything professionally as they went along. The finished roof is absolutely a work of art- so gorgeous, and compliments the architecture perfectly. They incorporated special touches to unify the design from one section to another, and took special care to make the roof extremely strong against the harsh winds and storms we see. They also added new roof vents where none had previously existed. MO SHINGLES is, without question, the most competent, skilled and customer-service oriented contractor we have found in East Tennessee. The owner is very bright, with years of experience in a variety of climate regions of the US. He is highly respected by his crew who describe him as "the most honest guy they know." WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND MO SHINGLES. We feel we received excellent service, a spectacular roof, and competent repairs of hidden damage-- all at a reasonable fair price. We believe the new roof added so much beauty to our home that it probably increased the value of our property. This is the mark of a true professional-- when the value they add is greater than the cost. We couldnt be happier.
