Ocean City location of Philly favorite Tony Luke's. They do have both indoor and outdoor seating or you can get takeout. Enjoyed a cheesesteak and Birch beer. Delicious. They have pretty good fries too. Good place for a group meal.

First sight the place was nice and clean. And empty. After seeing all the pictures and articles on the wall we had high hopes. The food was awful. The cheese steak had hardly any meat on it. Cheese was basically tossed on top. Lacking big in flavor. Huge disappointment. I just wanted something light so I ordered a chicken Caesar salad, how can you mess that up. Well. The chicken was ground chicken. No seasoning. Was gross. Lettuce and croutons. The dressing wasn't even homemade. I was given a kens Caesar dressing packet. Nope, never again. And to have this establishment on the boardwalk as well shocks me.

Cheesesteak quality is good sometimes but recent quality not as good. Especially at the prices they charge. Web site is very inaccurate as to hours of operation. When questioned about the web site we were told "they" wont change it. For example the site shows Thursday closed but they are open every Thursday.

Stopped here after happy hour where I was close to full Jimmy Litz. Greg decided on here - so we got to it and walked in. Seemed fairly clean - and the staff was satisfactory. From what I recall the place was clean - and there were inside and outside tables for dining. Known for their cheesesteaks - we ordered two whiz with and for some reason I also racked on an order of cheese sticks. The bread was fairly fresh - steak was properly prepared but the main issue was a true lack of whiz on the steaks. With fresh bread, and the bread being porous, any liquid (even cheese) will be soaked up fairly easily. That was the case here as well. The sandwich was very dry- and thanks to my state of mind I ordered waters as well. Cheese sticks were great - battered not breaded. We used this as an ample floatation device for the rest of the night - but again tough to be a part of with the dry sandwich

I only stopped by Tony Luke's since a traveling companion wanted to go & said the food was decent. Sadly, it was overpriced and very lackluster. It cost over $30 for a chicken cheesesteak, a hot dog, a soda, & an Oreo shake. To start off, they deceptively advertise a somewhat decently sized milkshake...you'd think for $6 plus tax, you'd get a decent size and quality shake. It was pathetically small and barely tasted like a milkshake (1.5/5). It clumped at the bottom and didn't have the consistency of a milkshake, and was very watery in places rather than thick and creamy. Also, it had hints of flavor of the mango smoothie the customer before me had ordered, so the employees didn't do a good job of cleaning whatever machines they use in between customers. For the price, you're better off grabbing a milkshake at any fast food place. The hot dog (1.5/5) was one of the most flavorless I've ever had...it was bland and had nothing resembling a grilled taste...a complete rip off at $6.50. The chicken cheesesteak (4/5) was the only decent food item, but also quite expensive at $14+...it was big enough to feed 2 people or perhaps one hungry individual. Overall, this experience was lackluster enough to make me steer clear of any Tony Luke's in the future...once was more than plenty for the experience.

Some of these reviews really crack me up. I really hope it's just hyperbole or humor that would make people write things like "they came here for something authentic" or that they wanted "an official Philly cheesesteak". If not, are you really that stupid to think that something like that is possible here? This is sort of the four degrees of cheesesteak separation. 1. You could actually go to Philly and get something good/real/authentic from a place like Jim's Steaks or maybe Dalessandro's Steaks. 2. You could go to Philly and hit the crap tourist trap joints that shall remain nameless. 3. You could go to any random pizza shop and have them make you a turd that has red sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, dried Yoo-hoo powder or who knows what else on it. 4. Or, you could come to an overpriced beach town where you pay a premium for everything on the island and quality is a word that maybe a few people read about but I guess assumed that it was only an urban legend so they assumed it didn't apply to them. Where does this TL's fall? Somewhere between #3 and #4. I get there on a beautiful October Sunday night. Total people in building besides me, two, and they were working there. I ordered up two regular cheesesteaks with no BS on them and some cheese fries. Stuff took about ten minutes to make and everything was "freshly" rendered. When I go to the counter to pick up the stuff the one kid working there says that they close for the season next weekend so they are out of takeout containers/utensils of all types. While not a big deal with the steaks, for the fries he put maybe a dozen napkins on the bottom of one of their bags while next dropping the fries in the bag then for the finish the cheese sauce goes right on top everything. WTF? Slop City! Thankfully he gave me legit thirty napkins while telling me that they still had plenty of those left and with that I was on my way. The fries were sloppy as all hell but were actually not half bad. The cheesesteaks (with provolone) were short in the cheese department and apparently went briefly on vacation to Phoenix before hitting the roles because man was that the driest sandwich ever. No oil, grease, juice. No nothing. Just dry ass meat on an overly firm roll. Look, I didn't expect a miracle coming here but I also didn't expect the Gobi Desert sandwich along with a pint of cheese sauce just dumped in a bag either. Nice looking store and it was super easy to walk from the hotel but the two kids working there didn't have a clue. With food like this maybe this Tony Luke's will end up like the one close to me in Allentown which closed after less than a year because the food stunk while being priced like it was Fogo de Chao. One and done.

Pretty mediocre. Honestly, the steak lacked flavor and the overall cheesesteak was just bland. I was surprised to read, while waiting for my food, that this place originated in Philly. I thought to myself after eating, if this is how they're making the cheesesteaks, I don't understand how they could've originated in Philly, the cheesesteak capital. I really don't mind waiting for my food. But when it tasted pretty blah, it is just unfortunate. We also ordered the Maryland fries and should've just ordered the regular ones. The amount Old Bay was just too overpowering.

First off, I wanna give props to the man that was working tonight. He was running the show by himself and killed it at making everyone's food. Give that man a raise. I wish I caught his name! Second off, literally one of the best cheesesteaks I have ever had in my life. I'm so glad I got to finally try Tony Luke's. I got a pizza steak and it was so good and flavorful and the roll was perfect!!!

Yellow fat at end of many of the little pieces they chop this steak into.

Still nit Philly. Music was off that's a plus. Has this franchisee ever visited the original in Philly ? Meat had a piece of fat at end of every other piece. No matter how much you chop it, it's still chewy fat. No peppers available like they had last time and like they always have in Philly. Didn't want to run up north to Primo and thought I would give them another shot. Nope

Wish I could give this zero stars. Rating this, I have been to the REAL South Philly location multiple times. This is not anywhere close. We ordered 4 wiz wit steaks. We got home to eat them and there was NO wiz visible at all. Couldn't even taste it. The Philly location had cheese wiz on the top and lots of it. So we called the place to express our disappointment and asked to speak with a manager. Apparently there is no manager here and no one knows what time the manager works. Great. Bottom line the food is terrible. It's not the original at all. Save your $14 and buy a big bite from 7-11, you'll be happier I promise.

This remains one of my favorite places for a steak, but if you want a real Philly treat you have to get the roast pork with sharp provolone.

We arrived around 6 on a Saturday night and the place is busy (it always is). We are greeted in an ok time, it took longer than ever before (and we've been there when it's been busier). The young lady greeted us, took our order and left. We ordered boneless wings, fries, crab cakes, and soup. She came back about 5 mins later and said they sold out of crab cakes. I get it's the off season, but there really is no off season at Fast Eddies. So we ordered something significantly cheaper from the menu. When the food came out, it was just ok. My boneless wings were way overdone and the crab burger was just ok. When the check came, it seemed to be a little high, like she never adjusted the pricing from the crab cake dinner. We never received the itemized receipt and after she dropped the slip to sign, we didn't see her again. So we just signed the receipt and left, as we had plans to get to. I don't know if we'll be back to be completely honest.

To be honest I was very disappointed. It's not that it wasn't good. It's that it wasn't great. I suspect the store in Philadelphia is more authentic and better overall, but I can only review what's put in front of me. The good: The beef is very tasty and seasoned perfectly. The grilled onions literally make this hero.... they add both flavor and moisture to your bites. I added peppers and mild Provolone which also ramps up the flavor. The bad: The hero roll was just ok. The ends were a bit hard but palatable. The beef was a bit dry and probably would be a disaster if it weren't for the grilled onions to moisten it up. And talk about greasy! For a somehat dry sandwich, the grease soaks thru both the wrapper and bag. To be honest, it wasn't a terrible experience. But after eating at many Philly cheesesteak places, I expected this to be top ten and it just isn't. If you have ever eaten one of the Subway cheesesteak offerings, this will remind you of that. Overall Rating: C+ Note: At some point I will try one from the Philadelphia location and review here.
