Chicken cacciatore and veggie primavera!! These are platters, not plates.
Teresa L.

Annual trip to Ft Desoto. Dined in this year. Fabulous pasta. Our table had chicken marsala, cacciatore, shrimp scampi and pasta primavera. All were delectable and portions were large. The stand out was the roasted pepper bruschetta, best appetizer I've had in a very long time. It was massive and would make a great meal for 2, with side salads. Service was sketchy because they were busy and our waitress was new. 20 minutes to get wine... Ambiance was noisy and crowded but the food made up for it.

Penne a la vodka

This is definitely authentic Italian food. We had penne a la vodka and it was flavorful and so creamy. The pizza, amazing! We ate the entire pizza between two people because it was just that good. Best tiramisu and cannolis we've ever had. The meatballs melt in your mouth and the marinara sauce was the real MVP in all this, it was homemade and made every dish just that much better. FYI: HUGE portions

Super good!!!! Servings are giant. Would definitely recommend sharing plates. Adam was a good waiter, good vibe inside. Pasta Rustica was AMAZING best meal of the four we got

Penne alla vodka

Food is always amazing, the Philly and vodka pasta are our go to's. 10/10 recommend - service was amazing and sitting at the bar is great too

Nello's Carbonara special
Michael L.

Hannah said she was new but she was far from a new server, she may have been just new here. She was excellent! My wife has come here a bunch but this was my first time. My house salad and bread appetizer were excellent. I ordered the Nello's Carbonara and it was great. My family enjoyed the veal piccata and Alfredo. Heard great things about the pizza. This really is a hidden gem. It's Friday night so we enjoyed the atmosphere being a little crowded and exciting.

Chicken Marsala

I am leaving this place with a smile in my face. Everything was so good, amazing, delicioso, spectacular. The service was kind, friendly, best of the best. Do not leave this place behind for its looks. The facade needs an update, but that is truly not important. The people inside make the difference. The authentic Italian cuisine was the best I ever tried. :)

We're staying with our Aunt and Uncle for a month here in Tierra Verde and wanted to try this place. My husband and I are foodies and love supporting local businesses. Dinner for four included a large pizza, which was HUGE, Greek salad - also huge, and a nice bottle of Chianti. Everything was delicious and perfectly made. The icing on the cake was our server, Peter. He was attentive and funny and we really enjoyed every minute we spent there. This place is a gem!

Visiting our daughter in St Petersburg over Easter weekend. She took us to Tony & Nello's in Tierra Verde. Walking in, the smells were so darn fabulous, we knew the flavors were going to be spot on!! Not a huge restaurant but plenty of space to enjoy yourselves. Nicely decorated with plenty of that Italian feel. Not quite busy yet, so we sat at the bar. Johnny was our Bartender .... Very friendly guy. Asked what we wanted to drink, we weren't sure because we had JUST sat down and looking over the menu. Very, very attentive. Plus he was answering the phones & getting to-go orders lined up. He worked like a Swiss watch. By the time we left, the place quite full of guests and orders were flying out the door. We figured out what we wanted. Pizza !! Found out EVERYTHING was in large portions. We ordered a tossed salad, ($14.95) which was plenty enough to feed 4, easily. I ordered a glass of wine...nice pour by the way, Johnny. Thank you. They delivered some hot bread as well. Delicious !! Then the large pizza arrived, for the three of us..... 1/2 meal lovers & 1/2 Tony's Special. OMG..... it was HUGE !! Loaded with sausage, pepperoni, peppers & black olives. It was certainly full of flavor. Guess we got the NY style because it was very, very thin. Tasty but we would have preferred it with a thicker "chew" on the crust. If they offer a thicker crust... we missed it. We each ate one slice, took the rest of it home and had it for breakfast the next day !! Just as tasty ! Yes, highly recommended. We would go back in a heartbeat !!!

Gf small

Really liked this place suggested to me by friends. Why? Because they make a great gluten free pie and other stuff I don't get to eat a lot. There were gf pasta options but with the smells in play this is where I broke my blasted pizza fast. Sure glad I did it was worth it. I even took some home for later after giving it my best shot! This place is very Italian, so they had great wine too. Pricey because its in a tourist area, but their bruschetta bread looked legit too! Would def chill here again.

We did it two more times each, and every slice came out just as amazing as the first. That countertop flat top is truly a wonderful piece of equipment for reheating pizza. It brings the crust back to life by heating the bottom directly and creating that restaurant-quality crunch you just can't get from a microwave or a regular oven. And the pizza itself -- DeRusso's absolutely delivered! The pepperoni, mushrooms, and onions were packed with flavor, and every ingredient came together perfectly. The crust, toppings, and overall taste show the care and quality that goes into every pizza. Keep doing what you do, DeRusso's! This time we got to sit down and have a truly enjoyable Adult Italian Dinner!!! The Ambiance/Decor is old world Italian style and very comfortable. It takes you somewhere that makes you feel like the beach isn't less than a mile away. We love it!!! Oh my word the Food was so flavorful and worth every penny!!! Food to Value ration: WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Yes I said it twice, lol!!! We ordered a reserve Chianti and Wifey LOVED IT!!! As an app, we got the Eggplant Rollatini and it did not disappoint. It was ooey gooey Great!!! We both upgraded to the Caesar Salad and I'm not sure how the house salad would have been, but the 2$ up charge was well worth it. Tasted way better than most Cesar salads at other establishments. We ordered our entrees from the Chef's Specialty menu. Wifey got the short rib ravioli. Portion size was good and taste was so fresh they tasted like they were made fresh when ordered!!! I got the Salmon dish and holy succulent Salmon. Cooked to perfection!!! The brandy risotto w/asparagus was a nice complement to the Salmon. We were so full we didn't even have desert, but we cannot wait to try the house made tiramisu next time!!! If you get the chance to try this place. Do yourselves a favor and stop in. We will always make this place a stop on our visits to the area!!! AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!

We absolutely came here for the flambéed cheese wheel pasta. AND it is absolutely worth the hype…read more Beyond just the show we got with a flaming cheese, everything that graced my tastebuds (like even the HOUSE SALAD and I never like a house salad) to the service we received really justified the price of our pasta dishes. This place isn't cheap, but you can kinda pick that up the second you walk in with the dim lighting and fancy-restaurant type of decor. We started with the steak tartare and oh my gosh it had my eyes roll to the back of my head. The crackers paired with it were perfect. Now for the entrees! My fiance got the Bada bing (the flambéed cheese) with spicy chicken added and it was soooo good. I ordered the Rigatonnaci Alla Vodka and it was FIRE! I love how each pasta was individually filled with stuffing and the vodka sauce was the perfect amount of creamy. The Italian wedding soup was a little bland and had almost no meat, but that may have just been our serving. My traditional veal Parmesan was fantastic, and my wife's Pappardelle Giuliana was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the service from Haley really hurt the experience. When taking my wife or family out for a nice dinner, I often call ahead, provide my credit card, and ask the restaurant to charge the meal with a 22% gratuity. I've done this many times without an issue. It's not because we're in a rush--it's simply nice to enjoy dinner and, when finished, say good night and leave without waiting for a check or dealing with payment. Haley approached us and assumed we had done this because we were "in a rush." When I explained why I actually do it, she told me it was more of a hassle for her because she had to manually enter the card instead of swiping it. That was a pretty surprising thing to say to a customer who had already arranged to leave you a 22% tip. I told her to forget the arrangement and that I'd give her my card at the end. Instead of letting it go, she continued bringing it up and making the situation increasingly awkward. She even reiterated that she preferred swiping the card. In the end, she literally talked herself out of a guaranteed 22% tip. I left 18%, mainly because I don't like leaving a poor tip. The restaurant is beautiful and the food deserves another visit, but Haley's approach to customer service turned what should have been a great evening into an unnecessarily awkward one. We'll likely return--but we'll definitely request a different server.

And the competition is there since many will claim to be home-made and fresh. Each will have their own style and recommendations. Nothing is formal. This is casual. It is on the corner of a block right next to a bar and clubs called Cock Tail...It is hard to miss. That place is open to everyone no matter what you might think. And the drinks are good. So, it is no surprise that rights next to it is Matteo. And that is a good thing to know. Make your reservation and you can get in (or sit outside) and have a good Italian meal. I tis everything you might imagine and nothing fancy or over done. The place to start is with an appetizer. There is a good variety to have. As for dinner, we selected several options and decided to share what we each had. Very typical of Italians if you ate at someone's house. You share your meals while having an extensive conversation. (Of course, a glass of wine does help.) It was a delightful meal. The team there is perfect. They can answer questions and make suggestions. The food is fresh and freshly made. As for the price, it is fine and as you would suggest. Overall, I will go back and bring some friends. It is a good place to have a good dinner and experience the crowd that are there. I came here after a long flight from the Pacific Northwest in need of some nourishment and ordered a Manhattan, shrimp cocktail, and the bone-in ribeye, following the table-side recommendation. Long story short, all of it was thoroughly enjoyable! But in further detail, the shrimp were from the Gulf, of course, and very juicy and succulent! The steak was prepared with a delicious char, which I have only seen once before at a steakhouse in Spokane, WA, which happened to be featured as the best steakhouse of the State in some publication. The char adds a very satisfying flavor without overcooking the meat....at Beau's they serve it medium rare - please see my pic to illustrate. Onto the potatoes au gratin - also see pic. These were more delicious that any potato dish I have had in Idaho, a state in which the potato is on the license plates! I initially chose Beau & Mo's because of its cozy, dimly lit atmosphere that I noticed in pics online, and it didnt disappoint. I had a leather booth with its own little table lamp; they also play Frank and similar tunes to accentuate the old school vibe. The service was attentive and exquisite; and last but least, I cannot finish this review without mentioning the impressive size of the Manhattan. It was our first time dining there, but it definitely will not be the last! Few things to note before you go. Definitely make a reservation! It's not a large space, but it is a popular one, so you want to plan ahead. Also, parking is a bit limited, so using a ride share wouldn't hurt. Lastly, come hungry! The portions are generous, and if you're going as a date night destination, the options on the "Secret Menu" for dinners for 2 include wedge salads, sides for the steaks, and dessert. All that said, we knew the minute we walked in that we were in for a good time. The atmosphere is cozy, casual, and distinctively Chicago, with dark wood everywhere, red accents, and vintage photos and prints all over the walls. It's a feast for the eyes to go along with the feast for your stomach! Though we arrived a little early, we were seated right away. They knew we were celebrating an anniversary, so they spread rose petals on our table! Our server, Angelo, was exemplary--professional, attentive, and full of great recommendations, the most important of which was recommending that we order the Chateaubriand off the Secret Menu. Everything it came with -- the wedge salads with homemade dressing, the sides, the red wine reduction to drizzle on the steak, and the mini cannolis at the end -- were delicious. Aside from cocktails, we didn't need to order anything else! Speaking of cocktails, Beau's Old Fashioned is one you can't not order if you love bourbon and bourbon drinks. However, I was even more impressed with "The Chicago Man." Try it at your own risk, though - it packs a punch. All that said, we can't wait to go back. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean!
