I go into this place a lot. Officially the glass house, this is known in St. Helens simply as wetherspoons. The place is nicely furnished inside and there are two sections. A section on the higher level near the bar where you can sit and have a drink and watch the numerous televisions dotted around the place; and the lower section, which is reserved for eating.
The meals they sell vary in quality acording to the time of day you go into the place. Go in on a busy day and you can have a long wait for your food and sometimes, say if your order the beer and the burger, the chips that should come with the burger are cold and there may only be literally 7-8 chips. Thats poor service.
Indeed, over recent months there have been quite a few increases in price that seem to have sneaked in.
I goin with my friends mainly for the cheap-ish ale and the fact that it is nicely furnished and if you do sit down stairs there are some nice booths to sit in.
There are fancy toilets upstairs and the place is kept clean pretty mch most the time. read more
