A nice place to stop and get a glass of wine and a bite to eat... I had the fish & chips (£17) and a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc (£9). A bit pricey for a "casual" spot of lunch, but I digress...
The fish & chips were good - nothing remarkable but cooked well (batter wasn't too thick) and the chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My son had the kid's meal of pasta w/ tomato sauce & cheese (ziti) w/ a dessert of a fresh fruit cup.
Service was friendly and prompt in the beginning but towards the end, our server disappeared and there was a bit of rubber necking to get the check. Total for 2 mains, a strawberry shake, glass of wine, kid's meal, and 3 pots of tea came to £73 quid. While it was a good lunch, I don't know if there was anything that stood out that would warrant a repeat visit (if I was in the area again). read more
