My kids love the selection of shopping carts, with sizes even for them. The only thing I slid a star off for was prices can be a bit more. But I understand the struggle of a small town store and I'm willing to pay it so we don't loose them.

That, to me, is very important. The store sells scented spray and I always look for the fruity scents (pineapple, mango, etc) and one of the workers remembered that I liked them and set aside about 5 or 6 different "fruity" scents that I absolutely love! Some of it is pre-cooked (pulled pork, for example), but most of it is ready for a home cook. They also carry some baked goods, jams, hot sauces, deli meat and cheese, and sweets. This butcher is quite out of the way for my family, but it is a favorite for its quality and value. When we were there during the week of Christmas, they were busy with lots of folks stocking up refrigerators and freezers and people buying gift certificates and gifts. A big favorite of our family is their beef jerky. They carry several types, sweeter barbecue, spicy, and it is fast mover based on the customers we saw. Most of it is less chewy than other butchers in the area, so it's worth trying before you buy to make sure you like it. It was also nice to get sliced cheese (Lipari) to have ready for the holiday tables and leftover sandwiches. If you are looking for something specific or want a large order, call ahead. They will pull the order for you and be ready with it when you arrive. This makes it easier on everyone! Also, they will vacuum seal almost anything so that it lasts longer in a cooler or freezer. Some places won't do this, so it is great service. It can get crowded, but the crowd and the service are friendly. When it's crowded, it may move slowly, but it will be worth it, especially to support a small, local business that provides an important food-based business for the community.

He insisted on going through them for the pig . The day before the event i went and picked it up . They had skinned it left the kidneys in it . As im taking the kidneys out i spread open the ribs and inside on each side were 2 football size spots of green nasty rotting flesh . I quickly called the shop on my home phone and my friend on my cell . Some one answers the shop phone . I explained the problem. And asked what their solution to this was i was informed they were closed and therefor could do nothing that night . I asked the person on the phone if they would take my number and have the owner call me back . He said he wouldnt do that . I asked why . His response was to inform me that he was the owner and hung up on me . I had to take the rotting pig carcass back to them they did replace it the next day . But as anyone that has ever done or attended a pig roast it takes a long time to cook a whole pig . So the event was ruined and they had a freezer full of roasted pork to deal with . I will never buy anything from them again .

It's been open and closed due to different ownership over the years, but it's always been an icon of the Algonquin Lake area.

She came back and said that I grabbed the gold box (that was right next to this brand and not the one on sale, the sale boxes were on the other side of the sign and full price boxes) She stated I grabbed the non-sale bacon and nothing she could do for me. I told her fine i will post a bad review and not shop at their store again. If you are going to run a special on anything packaged the same way in a white cardboard box, put a price tag on the non-sales one. Simple fix.......
