Their…read moreselection is huge, and the mushroom section is on another level, way beyond what you see at a normal grocery store. Fun fact: this place is famous for carrying hard-to-find and foraged produce and has been a quiet favorite of Bay Area chefs for decades, which explains why half the fruits look like they belong in a cooking show challenge. That said, the quality isn't flawless. This past summer the corn on the cob was disappointing, with a few ears already rotten at one end once you peel back the husk, so definitely inspect before buying. Also, the clientele is usually fine, but this visit featured an unnecessary checkout cameo from a full-volume Karen who felt the need to explain how standing in line works. The cashier chose silence, which felt like a statement. Still a great market overall, just keep an eye on the corn and maybe bring a little extra patience to the register.

It has a good variety of vendors for produce, meat, cheese, mushrooms, breads, body products, jewelry and more. There are a variety food vendors where you can get your fill of dim sum, burgers, Laos sausages, and a wonderful coffee vendor. I think you want to get there earlier than noon. The first time we went, it was about 1pm. We strolled up and down the aisle. By 1:30 there seemed to be little produce and a couple of vendors were starting to pick up. The second time we went a bit earlier. It is about a 20 minute bike ride from the Point so it is convenient. We walked around and saw the same vendors so I feel confident they will be there regularly. Great location with views of the marina and bay from the parking lot. There is a no pet sign but it was posted only at one entrance - and not the one we went through. It was warm and I couldn't leave her in the car. Because she was self-contained in her personal buggy, I didn't think it would be an issue. Still, probably best to leave your furbabies at home. The only negative I have is one vendor blasting music from their booth. I enjoy listening to music but it's so loud that I can't have a conversation with the vendor without yelling, so I move on. Quickly. When you get to the water end of the market, you are blessed with sounds of the bay and birds. Now, that's nice. The second time we rode our bikes from home. It's about a 20 minute bike ride from the Point so it is convenient and it was a beautiful morning. As we rolled up, we were greeted by loud music. Again. Sigh. There are a few tables set up at one end with coloring books and games, entertainment for both grownups and kids alike. You can also grab a bite to eat or something to drink, sit down and enjoy the vibes. Pleasant way to enjoy a sunny day by the bay in Richmond.

What is so great about The Richmond Farmers Market in Marina Bay is the space that is being used. The vendors at this market are very kind. You say hi to them and they start a conversation with you. It is a friendly Farmers Market to come to. I love seeing the people that attend the Farmers Markets. I have not seen anybody trying to bring their pets to the market which is not allowed. I do love how people come here on a Sunday Morning checking out the vendors. When I attended this market I only saw one vendor that had fruits/vegetables. Every other vendor were take out food or clothes. I am not disappointed that the market didn't have much produce vendor but it is still a market nobody if you call it a Farmers Market. With a couple food trucks in addition to vendors, I've found this to have the most hot food dining options for those who go to the market to do more than shop. This market also has pretty much anything you'd need for a meal. One note, it is so popular that I've seen a tent and a food truck sell out before they close for the day so you may want to go early. There are a few benches that provide good seating, which can allow for taking this market at a bit of a slower pace than you might others. Only note, it can get extremely congested, as I feel this is one of the most popular markets in the Bay, if you want something more sprawling I'd suggest Old Oakland, but otherwise no complaints. Temescal is soundly in my faves!

What makes this farmers market so special is that there's truly something for everyone. Many of the produce vendors have been staples for our family for years. You can find fresh vegetables, eggs, local crawfish, chicken, meat, bread, pastries, plants, dates, flowers..you name it, and it's probably there. The vendors are always welcoming, and there's such a great sense of community. It's wonderful to see so many people coming together to support local farmers, makers, and small businesses. Whether you're shopping for groceries, grabbing a bite to eat, or just enjoying the atmosphere, it's always a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

It has all organic vegetables, fruits, honey, mushrooms (including Lion Mane ($5/bag), oysters), sourdough breads, flowers that you are looking for, without feeling overwhelmed with lots of booths. Parking: free street parking Come early as favorite items run out fast: for example: blueberries ($7/bag) and sweet cherries ($6/bag)!! I was there on the early side, so not all stands were fully set up but seems as if there is a few bakeries with fruit forward desserts and baguettes, lots of fruit, flowers, rotisserie chicken, tamales, empanadas and a fish vendor. Parking is seemingly mostly in the CVS parking lot and some street parking. Overall, Thursdays, if you need some local NorCal fruits and veggies and eats, this is a great little farmers' market.

What's not to love about this petite farmers' market every Thursday from 3-7pm? It's compact yet still packed with abundance & variety, especially when I visited at the tail end of summer/early fall produce season. I made a beeline directly to the famed Frog Hollow Farms stand that was overflowing with assorted stone fruit (their specialty) and berry tarts, hand pies, and galettes. But right next door you can buy the actual fruit or local honey from other vendors and head home to make your own pastry. Or maybe you want veggies? They've got stall after stall of the season's best. I picked up a ton of basil for pesto. Need to rest? There are shaded tables and chairs for kids to seniors to disabled folks to catch a break while listening to live music. Don't feel like cooking dinner? There's always a vendor, like Roadside Rotisserie, where you can pickup a juicy rotisserie chicken, or pork loin, with sides like red potatoes or broccoli roasted in chicken fat. And if the plethora of organic goodies and vendors galore aren't enough, just turn around and realize that you're surrounded by some of the best food destinations IN THE WORLD: Cheese Board Collective & Cheese Board Pizza, Saul's Deli, Andronico's Grocery, the ORIGINAL Peets Coffee & Tea, and of course Chez Panisse is just 8 doors down! I stopped by this past Thursday and told him that I had chicken tikka masala once and that it was rotten so he apologized and gave me one (from his cooler). I told him that he needs more ice because his food is sitting in the sun. Well, when I hesitantly opened the new container, and smelled it, I almost vomited on the spot. It was spoiled, again. I kept dry heaving as I ran it to my outdoor trash can. It was so bad. I would like a health inspector to check his food. I cannot be the only person who has received spoiled food from that stand 2 times! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, never a third time.

I like that this farmer's…read moremarket has slightly later hours than what I see at other farmer's markets - they are open from 10-2 here instead of 9-1. I came by and got some fresh, sweet strawberries and a thick slice of sourdough focaccia bread that was soft and paired great with some rosemary infused olive oil. They didn't have any hot food vendors though, so I was a bit bummed by that. Parking is available on the street via meters.

Bought loose all natural teas but they were expensive. From $20 - $30 per bag. I usually buy loose natural teas at my local farmers market in Tracy and they are $15 per bag no matter what type of tea is is. It was quiet since I arrived right at 10am when it opens. Not many people at all walking around. The tea vendor was nice but seemed nervous, which I thought was odd. Unless this was his first time selling. It is a family run home grown teas.
