I have known Mary Deggelman since 2007 and I can't say enough nice things about her. I went to…read moreschool with her, and she is a phenomenal therapist. I appreciate her therapeutic orientation. She is a very skilled therapist if you need someone who is holistic. She is one of the healthiest people I know, body and mind. If you seek someone who can support you in a period of transition, growth, mourning, grief, or stagnation, she is the ideal therapist. I often recommend patients to her because I trust her judgment and theoretical orientation.

Mary has been such a blessing in my life and has impacted our lives in such a positive way!!! She…read morehas been extremely helpful in my personal life as well as my entire families. Her style of therapy was captivating to all of us and exactly what we needed. The fact that you don't sit in an office for the entire session but rather take a walk together in the fresh air really allowed us to open up. I first started seeing Mary when my daughter was in the third grade. I was searching for tools to help in our mother/daughter communication challenges. Not only did Mary provide a sense of comfort to me, but also to my daughter. It was awesome showing my daughter that I am willing to do anything to make sure our relationship stronger than ever because a mother/daughter bond is so important. Mary really helped my daughter develop ways to communicate to us and provided her a safe outlet. Throughout these sessions, Mary helped identify issues that I suppressed for years and were just surfacing when I became a parent. She identified underlying topics, helped me cope with them, and then provided tools to overcome them! She not only help me with ways to open up and heal myself but also is making me a better mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. My family saw such a difference in me, that they were open to the idea of therapy and had full trust in Mary. I have seen Mary for personal, couple, and family therapy! Walking and talking was the perfect therapy. When you are walking you are just talking to "as trusted person" and opening up about various topics. These tools are life strategies you take with you long after your sessions with Mary. If you are looking for someone to talk to for your self, your children, your spouse, or all of the above, I would highly recommend Mary. My entire family would say the same!!!

Uncaring and technologically inept. She's only interested in the most simple and surface issues,…read morenot actually helping people with REAL trauma/problems. For the initial consultation she said she'd send me a link but it was 1 hour till the visit start time and I still hadn't received anything. She was closed off and unhelpful, a lot of one liner answers that continuously tried to put the blame on me. "It's probably in your junk mail" etc. I had to send her a screen shot of my junk mail folder to make her realize it was HER who didn't send the link. Took A LOT of emailing back and forth before finally 5 minutes before the appointment she sent me a link to Zoom. When we finally got it working and got into the visit, I told her about the main issues I wanted to talk about in our consult and she balked and said she thought these issues were too difficult for her to handle. I just took a huge leap of faith and confided some very difficult things to this woman on day 1 of our visits and her reaction is the equivalent of, "Wow you're too ****ed up!" Not exactly the response you'd expect from a professional therapist, especially one who claims she had 12 years experience in an in-patient setting where you would think she got to work with some VERY sick people. However, she agreed to attempt to work with me at first, and that's when all the technological issues got in the way. After the visit she was supposed to send me a link to the patient portal to get signed up, finally I received it but when I tried to log in using the temporary 6 digit password the email was telling me to use, it kept saying "user/password incorrect". She had the system generate a new password and I was STILL getting these issues. Beyond that, she didn't seem interested in getting it fixed. Her response was "Let me know if you're able to log in," after I'd already emailed twice saying I couldn't. It was at this point I gave up and decided I'm better off trying to find someone who actually cares about helping me with my psychological issues. I believe part of the reason she refused to fix the patient portal was because she simply didn't want to treat me. She continuously made statements like, "If you find someone else I understand... " and then refused to help get the portal working so I could sign paperwork/pay bills. This is a therapist who is afraid to tackle ACTUAL trauma. How can you even call yourself a therapist??? On top of that, she has no idea how to work a computer, yet insists on doing telehealth only. She told me for my issues I should be seen in-person, yet most providers these days refuse to do in-person visits, as does she. If you think you can get better results from this woman, you're welcome to try but if you have anything more serious than passing sadness or anxiety good luck. That is if you're even able to get past the first visit due to her technological ignorance. She didn't even give me any referral to someone who would be better to help me than her, she simply hid behind these technological issues in order to turn me away without actually saying no.
