Stop! Do not try for a mortgage at this bank unless you have 3+ months to waste while you plead…read morewith them to hurry so that you won't lose the contractors they make you retain. What a waste of time & money!! Never again!!! We're extremely disappointed with the communication lapses and delays we've experienced with Community Bank during our home loan process. Despite assurances of a 'couple weeks' to closing, weeks turned into silence, requiring escalations to the branch manager to get basic updates. Their staffing constraints are unacceptable. If they're unwilling to address workload by adding personnel, they should adjust their loan volume to ensure existing commitments are met. This is simply not an acceptable way to treat customers. When I'm sure this bank has fumbled the loan. I will post the names of the people within this bank that you should stay far away from. They do not do their jobs and blame the underwriters for the slow process Edit: The bank requested additional information regarding our experience. We promptly complied with their request. While they acknowledged receipt of the information, no specific actions or timelines for resolution were provided. Our rate lock date is soon approaching! It's possible that within 2 weeks we will be going to Empower, like we should have from the beginning!! While I understand that deadlines mean nothing to banks, they DO mean something to people that have to ask banks to borrow money. I hope your bank learns to understand what a deadline is and why it's so important to keep your word when committing to a deadline.

They were so helpful in sorting out some of my misc income, and some other oddball stuff that we don't deal with every tax year, and for the first time in forever we got a refund from the federal and owed the state far less than I had anticipated, so I call that a win! Fees were similar to what I would have paid TurboTax or H&R, and I didn't have to deal with any of it this year :)

Rather than opting for Turbo Tax and shuffling through all of the paperwork to do it ourselves we…read moredecided to go to Liberty Tax. This choice was also influenced by a small business adventure started last year and first time doing taxes for it, meaning we wanted a professional. The initial scheduling was very easy and received support immediately with what to bring and what made sense for us given our new and unique circumstances to us. We were thankful for that. At our appointment we got in, filled out a brief check in sheet and immediately sat down with our advisor. He got right to work sorting through the paperwork, organizing and inputting our information. We were explained things along the way and we were able to ask questions as needed. At the end they showed us how all the numbers worked out and what our refund would be. You get all the typical options of bank routing or check in the mail for state and federal. The fee from them was 175 to do our taxes jointly. Which is exactly in line for doing it ourselves with turbo tax. Taxes aren't exciting and I was thankful Liberty took that burden from us this year and greatly simplified it.

So I make an appointment in good faith. I do into the Dewitt Walmart and am directed to the Jackson Hewitt Desk next to the bathrooms / stockrooms. The tax preparer, who was polite, intelligent and a victim of his own companies mistakes, informs me (while over-hearing the dis-grunted employees and customers in and out of the bathroom) that there is a "disconnect" between Jackson Hewitt online tax filing and Jackson Hewitt direct filing. He says I have to pay hundreds of dollars to re-file my taxes then MAYBE I could get an advance on my refund. Their email / messages are misleading to the point of being fraudulent. They wasted my time and disrupted my work and upset me!!!!!. I am going to report them to the BBB.

The next day I got an estimate for the damages to my car then proceeded to call Geico to make a claim. The lady who took my claim info from the Buffalo office was very professional and courteous. She said she would need to call the other party and get their side of the story and would get back to me. Within 30 minutes, she called me back to say that they would pay on the claim and would have an inspector call me to schedule an appointment either later that day or on Thursday, the day after Christmas. I got a call at 10am on Thursday from the inspector who was in the area. He came by a few minutes later and inspected the car. By 10:30am I had a check in my hand for the damages. This was my first experience making an insurance claim and the representatives from Geico made it so easy that I'm amazed. A piece of advice to others, when you call them, make sure that you have all the pertinent info such as the names and addresses of the involved parties, car info, etc. It helps if you report the accident to the police and have that report in your hand when you make the claim. Bravo, Geico. I will be calling you to get a price quote and if you are anywhere close to what I am currently paying, will be switching my car insurance to you.
