My favourite would have to be the Malaysian stall. They do a good char keoy teow, curry laksa and hokkien mee dishes here. Don't bother getting the nasi lemak dish though as the sambal was awful. Prices range from $9-$10.50. I never bother with the Indian stall as it is way to expensive but you will find some good Indian bread and vegetarian dishes. Go for the Tom Yam at the Thai stall and sizzling beef and spring rolls at the Chinese stall. A dedicated drink stalls with coke, juices, soya bean, beer and wine would appease any diner. All in all, it's a pleasant little Asia under one roof.

Set up in a food court and school cafeteria environment, you can choose from a wide selection of South-East Asian Cuisine. Choosing from a menu is hard enough in itself. let alone trying to figure out if you'll be ordering from the Chinese, Malaysian, Indian or Thai section. If you can't decide, order a dish from them all. The venue is licensed, so grab a drink while you decide, and take a seat. All sections will promptly bring the food out to you. The prices are very cheap - I'm convinced you can't buy the materials for what they charge here. This is why I keep coming back for more, and then re-order take away to heat up later. Pro tip: If you can't find your table number, remember to look straight up (You'll find it hanging from the ceiling).

Watching shows like epic mealtime really piqued my interest and I was excited when I saw a poutine shop opening. Actually, I've made an unauthentic poutine before using KFC chips and gravy but couldn't find the signature cheese curds anywhere, so I used bocconcini. Because of all this I ordered the unadulterated classic: thick cut fries, cheese curds and gravy as well as a hot dog. The hot dog had a lot of bun but not enough sausage, and was $6-7.... It was okay... The poutine was a different story. When I opened the box I was surprised to see melted cheddar... I really wanted to try that squeaky cheese curds bite! So moving on, I try the three together and nothing really stands out. The gravy was serviceable but slightly gloopy (as in cornstarch gloopy). The fries were your standard fries. Honestly I visited this place to try the cheese curds. Slightly disappointed, because honestly my ghetto DIY version tasted better. May come back one day to try again.

The problem was that despite being drawn to it by the fact that they were selling pouitine (and I have had some pretty good poutine in the past) it turned out that their poutine was nowhere near as good as the one that I had in Melbourne. I guess the problem was the ingredients that they used, and also that the chips were pretty ordinary as well. Sure, it was filling, but the fact that they used smoked beef sort of put me off it it a lot. While I don't necessarily want to knock a small business trying something new, I doubt I will come back here again.

Unlike most food court stalls which serve up substandard, formulaic and tepid dishes which sit under a heat lamp all day, Ricky's food is fresh, delicious and all in all a culinary sensation. Formerly situated in the markets, Ricky has brought the quality one would expect on Gouger St to the center of the city. Their specialty is bbq duck, pork, and chicken, which serve as the base of most dishes. They are put to many uses, including a fantastic noodle soup, where the roast meat (i go the duck) is dunked within a sea of fragrant broth. There is a choice from a number of different types of noodle, a chili sauce and some kind of delicious green sauce which I think is based on coriander or some other herb. Naturally, as the food is not served tepid from the warmth of a heat lamp, there is a bit of a wait, which potentially could pose a problem if you are in a rush on your lunch break, but it is well worth the wait if you have the time.

Some of my fellow Elites rate it pretty high, so I had to give it a go. I ordered the roast duck on noodles with sauce. Usually I would order rice, but for some reason I was in the mood for noodles. I also ordered a chicken broth for a side. This was so super cheap at $10.50. The duck was really tender. Actually, it was a lot more tender than other duck I have tried around Adelaide. But this also meant that the skin on the duck as not as crispy as I would have liked it. Oh well, the flavour made up for that. Well seasoned and topped with a soy based sauce for the noodles. To freshen the dish, it was also served with steamed bok choy. What I also liked was the additional sauces served with the dish, one was green onion sauce and the other a chilli sauce. Perfect for dipping your duck into for extra flavour. Yes, the reviews are right! This is a great destination for an all time favourite. I will be returning here on a regular basis when I am in town. Especially at those prices!

From Chinese to Indian, you can choose from a range of delicious dishes. My personal favourites would include the Korean BBQ stand. Try the spicy chicken and rice. It just bursts with flavour, and the sauce in which it's cooked is rich with tangy spice. It isn't tongue-numbingly spicy either, so you can still enjoy the flavour. In the last couple of years, though, they reduced the rice portion so you don't get as much, which sucks for me because I live off that stuff. Moving on, we have the Japanese stand adjacent to it. Here, you can find your classics: Teriyaki Chicken, Tempura Prawn, Miso Soup, etc. All are tasty and affordable. Last but not least on my list of favourites is the all day Yum Cha stand. Now, don't be expecting Star House or Ding Hao quality, but it certainly isn't far off. Maybe just stay away from the fried long pastry-looking thing. It's great, but you may as well have drunk a litre of vegie oil. Get the pork buns (always a safe bet), salt and pepper squid, prawn dumplings, and chicken feet if you're game (which I'm not). They have special deals depending on how many choices you get.

I forget the name of the place, but the little Indian takeaway is my favourite. The chana masala is the best I have eaten in a food court--perhaps not as good as you will find at a good Indian restaurant. ++++ VEGAN FRIENDLINESS -- The aforementioned Indian takeaway has several vegan options, clearly labeled. Including the chana masala (try it!) and a spinach and tomato dahl.
