The worst cab ride ever tonight from Tommy's Taxi. It is 12:38 a.m. and I just got home.
I've had better cab rides in NYC where the back seat smelled like vomit.
I just arrived back to the Framingham Logan bus location after a flight back from California. The only taxis available were Tommy's, which I didn't want to take but I had to get home. I thought, it's only 3 miles, how can they screw it up?
The window was locked, so I asked the driver to crack it. He rolls it down all the way and it's still locked, so now I can't roll it up. I have to ask if I can have control of the window. Really? are you kidding me. Nobody needs that at midnight after being in airports all day on cross country connecting flights. Clearly the driver is very angry about something, so I'm not going to say anything.
The driver then tells me that my street is in Natick. Thanks for your input, but I think I know where I live, which is in Framingham. There happens to be the same street name in Natick, not that I would expect a cab driver to know this.
The driver then proceeds to drive 65 mph through suburban Natick and Framingham, stepping on the gas at every possible corner. I was hoping that Natick cops were around to stop him for speeding. He overshoots my house by 1500 feet because he's too busy talking to the "office" about how the Logan Express bus asked for 3 or 4 cabs and the other drivers did not end up getting any fares. Now, hit reverse at 65 mph and slam on the brakes.
I'm in front of my house, but guess what, I'm locked in the backseat and have to ask for him to open the door. He does nothing. I get the door unlocked and see he's thrown my bag on the front yard, again, saying nothing and gets in the drivers seat slamming the door.
Don't do it. Do not get a cab from these people. You are better off walking. Even if you catch them on a good day, they can't seem to estimate time. I've been stuck in the dark over by Farm Pond because they missed their "estimated" arrival time by 45 minutes! I've never taken this cab in the 20 years that I've lived in Framingham where they have come close to the estimated pickup time, even when you schedule the day before!!!
It has to be the culture over there, but these folks just can't get it together. Couple that with the animosity of the driver tonight. Hey, they are in a service business. It's unacceptable.
Call Natick Cab, they are pleasant, have always come on time and can accurately estimate how long it will take before someone comes and picks you up. read more
