The butcher and meat counter at the back of the store is great too, they are cutting meats fresh right behind the counter where they are all displayed for purchase. They have a great selection of beef, pork and chicken cuts along with a few others and some seafood items, they even have a LIVE lobster tank for you to pick out your own and they also have little bags of oysters and scallops in the shell. They also have general grocery items, some name brands, some generic, but they also keep alot of local made items like Goat Lady Dairy goat cheeses, tubs of Hursey's BBQ in the feezer, Neeses products and a host of others. They had some mini homemade pecan and chocolate pies in front of the checkout area, the little baby pies in the tini pie tins, I picked up a couple of pecan pies and they were really good, not sickening sweet like most pecan pies. Steve's is definitey a great plce to checkout...aisles are a bit narrow, so you're probably gonna be rubbin' elbows and giving and getting a few "excuse me's" if there's many people in the store like a busy Saturday.

I always had a good experience at this location but a few weeks ago that changed. I went in and…read morethey had about 12 packs of wings marked for around two dollars. I was excited but not surprised because they normally have really good deals and random sales. Well on this occasion I go to pay for them and the lady at the register say this is a really good deal. The lady behind her (older lady) say what and the lady who is assisting me said well I am not sure this is right. The older lady walk over and say not this isn't. She said the should be the price of the legs not wings. She then took all the wings out of my cart and said he can't have them. Called someone from the back gave them the wings and said "he trying to get them for the price of legs. This isn't right take them back." She never told me the price they should of been and never gave me an opportunity to pay the correct price. I asked for the right price and she yelled "2.99 but he should have known that wasn't the right price. ". Referring to me as if I put the price on the meat. I am now debating if I would return to this location. I felt embarrassed and if they felt I was trying to still t from them. I rushed out after paying for the rest of my items yet to return.

It was a great suggestion as my food was very good. We ate on the Smokehouse side (there is a deli side as well that share the space and a unique speciality market as well). I ordered their "2-Meat and 2-Sides" meal, and chose the smoked Prime Beef brisket and pulled pork with scalloped potatoes and baked beans. Many other meats were available. The portions were good but the price was rather high but to be expected for this kind of restaurant. It was all excellent. The brisket was smoked and cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. It was not too fatty. The pulled pork was great too as were both my sides. It came with three hush puppies about the size of golf balls or slightly larger. There was plenty of seating despite it being very busy. They have a selection of adult beverages and several unique hard liquor drinks that looked interesting but I just had water. I'll eat here again. I would have liked to have explored the market area further but we did not have time.

My son's car had a radiator issue and we initially got it diagnosed it a Firestone. The diagnosis alone was $137, and the total amount for the work to fix a cracked radiator connection was going to be roughly $730. I called Pep Boys and they were $670, I called the dealership and they were the absolute worst at $1200, and I called Chapel Hill Tire and they were gonna be in the $700 range as well. The total cost for East Franklin was $487. That might not sound like a huge difference but they were the most honest and real. EVERY single other place said that you had to do a "radiator flush" alongside the repair for ~$130-150, but that just means they empty old fluid and fill it up with fresh fluid. East Franklin car center was direct and they said you don't need that because whenever you fix the radiator if it dumps out all the fluid so there's no extra charge it's just part of putting it all back together to put in new fluid. I was actually shocked that there was such a gap between every other traditional car care place and East Franklin. Even though (because they're so busy) you normally have to schedule your repair a couple of days in advance, I would not even think to go to any one of those others ever again, ever, after this experience. And simple story too is that you really have to call around because there are a lot of arbitrary charges that just get thrown into the mix that you don't need to pay to get something fixed!
