They completely destroyed the paint on my car! They scratched it up so bad and the other people who had gone through before me had the same issue. The manager here in Duluth MN refused to show me the camera footage of my car before and after. They know they wreaked my car and refuse to respond when I ask to see the footage they claim to have. I have written proof of me trying to contact them about it. I have written proof of them refusing to let me see the footage. I have photo proof of the scratches after coming out of it. I can't believe they get away with this type of behavior! it's insane!! If I had more time I'd have a lawyer sue them. read more

Our son took his brand new Toyota Corolla Hybrid to this car wash around the 4th of July, 2024. Upon inspection, it was clear that the equipment at the car wash damaged paint on the trunk to the point where it must be repaired professionally. The same car wash damaged both the front and rear license plates on two previous occasions. The company has a well-rehearsed process designed to placate customers. They took pictures of my son's car and supposedly entered it into an incident recording system designed to impress customers about the seriousness of their customer service. However, their after-the-fact follow-up seems designed to frustrate customers through delays and obfuscation. The auto-body personnel we spoke with suggested avoiding car washes with brushes like those used by Tommy's Express. They suggested seeking out touch-less car wash facilities. read more

For a $16 car wash, it didn't get our entire car clean! That's crazzzzzzy and unacceptable. The cashier, Lisa, was AWESOME, super friendly and cheerful, but we would not return as the car wash was not even thorough and overpriced. read more

This out of towner is going to be rude - I wasn't really rooting for Tommy's...BUT he impressed me. I decided I wanted to clean my car - I drove around a little and every mom and pops wash in the 3-5 radius seemed to close at 5pm/6pm. Currently, the modern monstrosity of a building sticks out like a sore thumb on one of the older main drags of Duluth. I had the motivation, so I was going with it... $13 bucks bought me a basic wash, unlimited vacuum time, a small car cleaning kit, and a mat wash. I can't be mad at it! ... AND the joe walking around cleaning up the place (jerks - don't toss your trash on the ground when the bin is 4' away) was super friendly - cherry on top. Give Tommy a chance! read more

Hello Spring, good bye winter! My wife and I are in Duluth at least twice a week and when coming down from Virginia, MN we are always getting some kind of dirt, mud, bug splatter, etc. all over the truck, so we decided to invest into a monthly plan at Tommy's by using their car wash app. We get the #1-The Works, which consist of a: Tire Gloss, Body Wax, Red Hot Cleanser, Rainbow Coat, 3-Step Wheel Cleaner, Tommy Guard, and Underbody Flush. At $40 a month, you really cant go wrong. They have different options for people who may want a cheaper plan, but this one works well for us. Not only does the car wash make our truck look brand new off the lot, but the customer service at Tommy's isn't anything I have ever experienced at a car wash. They are friendly, helpful, and they know how to make cars come in and get out quickly. If your anything like me, and your on a busy schedule, this place will make sure you can get out in a reasonable amount of time. When you have a plan like mine you also get to use their vacuums so you can clean out all that extra dirt left behind. Winter definitely makes sure to stick to the bottom of your boots so it has been nice to keep our truck clean. I'm very satisfied with the service at Tommy's and I know you will be too. Just try it out. Also if you don't want a monthly plan, it's only $20 for "The works." I honestly would think twice before putting your vehicle into their facility. Safety is the last concern for Tommy's car wash, ESPECIALLY in Duluth rather they prefer to pack you in like a can of sardines or a badly choreographed Congo line. They refuse to let you allow yourself space before going into the next car, I know this because I tried to wait in order to give some room for the car in front of me, and a worker came and shooed me in because he wanted the most cars in at once. I'm guessing he did the same for the car behind me considering mid wash I was pushed forward two feet by the car colliding behind me. The lady went from D to R to N and it jerked her car forward into me quite easily considering there was no available leeway for safety concerns. Luckily I pulled out my phone right away and started recording. In the recording you hear the staff tell me that I need to go park after the wash and pretend / act as if it was on the road. I literally have these people on recording telling me to lie for the report as if it was on the road. I can't even believe the disregard for the safety of their customers and vehicles. Luckily we have this recording, and other employees who said they do that so they can't be blamed, etc. That we are taking to court. WATCH OUT FOR YOURSELFS BECAUSE THIS PLACE DOES ANYTHING BUT. My truck was damaged by their soft wash equipment. I called within a hour and they told me to come in. Which I did. They took my information and pictures told me it would be okay and they would be in touch. It's been over 10 days and no contact. I have called 4 times. Very unprofessional response. Customer service unfriendly. Would not recommend using these people. These scratches are deep to the metal scratches and Not typical micro scratches. I will filing with corporate and with BBB next. BEWARE. Terrible service. Before someone post a reply saying they did not have a chance to look at it. Ken the assistant manager took photos and my information and told me it would be okay and taken care of. Then he and they ghosted me. Update 2-18-22 Based on the reply below. Full of crap. They have not called nor emailed me. Typical response to make them look like they are trying to make it right while in the back ground laughing at their own horrible customer service. Horrible. Absolutely terrible! I would not recommend this car wash to anyone. After I got done with the car wash, there were literal scratches put all over my doors.... like I do not recommend this, it's not worth the money. Look at these pictures below and look at all of the scratches....I tried rubbing them out and there's no way they're coming out so I don't know what I'm going to do. I have updated my original review that was posted during the grand opening. The vacuums have deteriorated so much I will be cancelling my $38/mo membership. The price was previously worth it when the vacuums worked great. The suction is so bad it barely picks up anything. This place hasn't been opened long, so I would expect them to do better read more

Super aggressive machines. I honestly thought it was going to crack my windows from the force of the pounding. Luckily it didn't, but once I pulled into a vacuum spot an employee walked over with broken pieces of my back windshield wiper. He told me that they were testing the weights in the machines to get the bugs off. Although he took a claim as if the insurance would cover their trial mishap, the manager in charge was impossible to get in contact with. Not worth the risk of damaging your car. read more

Love love love the vacuums!! It was probably the only redeeming quality of the car wash. I went when it first opened and I got a huge chunk taken out of my door. I didn't have proof that it came from the wash, so I didn't say anything to anyone. The auto body shop gave me an estimate of $500 to fix it.... Yesterday, I decided to give Tommy's another chance. When I got home, I noticed I got a few more scratches than I did before. I probably won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I was so excited when this opened up. I got my first month free so I went through the car wash at least once a week. Then I noticed scratches on one side of my car. The scratches are consistent and follow the same pattern that the red microfiber fingers use when you drive through them. So I spoke to the store manager and submitted a damage claim. He said it would take about 72 hours to go through security footage. It's been 3 WEEKS! I have emailed with no answer. I emailed corporate who told me to try contacting the manager again. I should not have to work this hard to fix damage that was caused by your car wash. If I don't get a reply, I'll guess I'll be filing in small claims court. My car is only 6 months old. I bought it brand new. I'm so upset and disappointed. Save yourself the hassle and go through a touch less car wash or wash it yourself. read more
