Ford makes a subpar product in many instances and when you want to have it repaired it takes too long to get an appointment, you have to pay for a rental car even when it's under warranty. I was going to buy a new truck from them today because they had a 30% off msrp sale. It took all day to finally get a quote. The 30% off is a joke. The msrp on their site shows the truck at 48k. The salesman told me they deduct the 30% from the base price which was 39k but they are still charging you for the full msrp. So after their "sale" price the truck was still more expensive than other dealers. They are using bait and switch, or false advertising to get people in the door. I have contacted the attorney General already and plan on contacting the BBB tomorrow. I wrote them an email and the lady that wrote back was rude and not very professional. This place is the worst dealership I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I arrived at 4pm ready to purchase a new F150 and left at 8pm with no truck and very angry & frustrated. When the salesman finally found the exact truck we wanted (took almost an hour just to find keys and make sure it wasn't already sold) then it took another 2 hours before we were actually given a price for the truck which was the sticker price. I told him I wasn't paying sticker price and asked for a better price, which took another 30 minutes to get an answer for. He came back with a bunch of numbers scrawled on a piece of paper and told me what my monthly payment would be, and requested a 3k down payment but still gave me no price. I asked again what the price was and we finally got to an agreeable price. However the monthly payments he had told me didn't match the truck price and when I asked what my trade in price was, and what kind of interest rate I had gotten he stated "I'll have to go back to my manager and get that information". What?!?!? I was getting monthly payments without them telling me my trade in price or the interest rate. I again told him in a very frustrated manner, that I wanted to know what my interest rate was and what the trade in price was. Again he went to the glassed in sales room only to come back 20 minutes later still refusing to give me the information and wanting me to do a deal with no other info than monthly payment and there so called truck price. This place is a joke. I have bought many new cars in my lifetime and have never had such a bad experience. Over the last 4 months I have looked at and test driven Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, and Ford trucks to find the best truck for me. . All other experiences I was given a solid price for the truck as well as exactly what my trade in price would be within an hour of arriving at the dealership. NO STARS-This past weekend my wife and I had our hearts set to purchase a Nissan Titan from Tomball Ford. We scheduled an appointment a week ago to see the truck, we waited for this day. We spoke to Steven on the phone prior, we discussed trade in value, etc. We gave Steven the information for my current RAM truck and agreed on trade in prices and current deals for the Titan. After driving 1 hr and 40 mins and my bringing my 38weeks pregnant wife I was told upon arrival of my appointment the Nissan Titan truck was brought to an auction 40 mins ago because no one was interested in the vehicle. We then stayed, talked to the manager and was told there was no guarantee to get the Nissan Titan truck back. They barely apologized and blamed it as a communication issue. The manager then priced out or RAM again and offered us 4,000$ less than what Steven agreed to give us on the phone. Again the manager said it was a "communication issue". No real apologies. This experience was absolutely awful. I find it extremely disrespectful to waste my wife & I's time. I serve for this country and she's about to give birth and this is the respect we were given. I do NOT recommend this dealership, we are highly disgusted and aren't ones to complain ever. But this, this was necessary to be heard. read more

Updating my review to let Yelpers know that i was contacted to make things right by the dealership but was told the same thing, I'm obligated to buy the truck with GAP, antitheft protection, etc. for the deal to work. That is fine but they should have just been up front and included it in my out the foor price so I could have left 3 hours earlier. This place is a SCAM and are very dishonest from online advertisements to negotiating a sales price. My husband went in for a 7pm appointment and finally settled on a price at about 9:30pm (keep in mind they close at 9). The deal was for the new F 150 as-is for a price of $31,350 plus taxes and tags. My husband had to wait about 40 minutes and they finally got him in to start signing. It was close to 11 pm and my husband was very hungry and tired and started signing away but he was wide awake when he saw the total price of the truck, $36,300!!! Considering the car sales tax is 6.25% and tags are about $300, the out the door price should have been $33,600. He asked why is it so high and they said it cost an extra $500 for the bed liner (this was already on the truck which my husband didn't ask for and they already negotiated on an as-is price for the truck), the other fees were for GAP and antitheft protection and etc. My husband stated that he did not need all of that and for them to remove it but they said they the sales price of the truck was so low and they have to add this to get the sales price that low. This is complete nonsense! So you sell the truck at a lower price but make me pay for all this worthless crap to make up the difference? Like other customers and their reviews, my husband was there for 4 hours and did not make a purchase. They keptoinsisting that we invested 4 hours there, and drove an hour to get there, and that we wouldn't be able to walk away. 5 hours invested?? I don't make $3,000 in 5 hours so I would be more than happy to walk away. Also would like to add that they gave me a quote of $4,700-$6,000 for my trade in online. When I went there they said $1,500 because it was involved in an accident. Online doesn't give you an option to enter that in. My car had a scratch from the accident and I had no repairs done because there was a factory recall on the paint so a new paint job had covered up the scratch. There was no structural or mechanical damages and the title was still clean so how is my car only worth a quarter of what I was quoted? Cars with salvaged titles would have been trade in for more. This is a trap to lure you in. This place is despicable and I wish I could give it zero stars! read more

Sales men are not very knowledgeable nor do they demonstrate what all things the car does or features that it has. It's insulting how low of an offer that they will offer on the trade in...especially when it's a 2011 Ford F-150 Limited, 16,000 miles and all the extras on it (for 33,000) then they turn around and sell it for 37,000. Once they sell you something that doesn't even work properly (SYNC Navigation on 2013 Ford Edge) you're screwed because that isn't covered under a lemon law. Ford also doesn't let you know that you can get the extended warranty money back if you sell the car before its normal warranty is even up. ll, please listen to these reviews... This place is a joke and I had to learn the hard way. I'll try to make it simple: 1. Made excuses to try and not give me offers advertised in the mail and radio. 2. 6 hours to buy a car! It was the traditional talk track of "let me see what I can do" and then disappear for 45min with your car keys. Other ford dealerships such as joe Myers had me in and out in under an hour. 3. Customer refreshments were non-existent and areas were dirty. 4. After the car was bought I had questions about finance and calls were never returned. 5. My sales person stopped answering and returning calls. 6. I was setup for aftermarket installation and my sales rep said to call him the day before to secure a loaner, and low and behold showed up the next day and no order was placed and they were out of loaner vehicles. 7. Sales rep said when I drop off vehicle for installation he wanted to review all of the features on the truck for me...he disappeared. 8. Got my aftermarket installation done and went to pickup vehicle and it was done incorrectly and I was forced to drive 20min away to have it fixed myself. 9. I was told my finance company accepted online bill pay and would not send payment coupons as I was against this from my last experience... Just got in the mail payment coupons with no website for online bill pay. Again hopefully you're reading the reviews and consider them before shopping here. read more

When I arrived to test drive a car it was pouring raining (clear skies the whole way there). Ms. Claudia greeted me with a smile and asked what she could do to assist me. I informed her of the car I was looking into. In the HEAVY rain she was willing to go out to the parking lot and bring the car closer for me to drive when the weather let up a little. Mr. Kurt Wilson was the perfect gentle man and brung the car closer so she didn't have to. They worked so patiently and stayed late with me to get me the best deal possible. Then the following day I get a call from her saying that Mr. Kenny (finance director) found me and even better deal on this car. Bought a 2016 Ford Explorer on March 28 at this dealership. Pros: Sales lady was on the ball and asked what I was looking for in terms of options. When she knew the color and options it was mere elimination by driving 3 different Explorers w/similar options. Got a very good deal on my trade in value. Everything done in the financing office is under video & voice recorded with your knowledge. Cons: I was approved for their financing which I opted for the 0% for 60 months, which is Ford Credit. Apparently, they were able to get a rate of 2.99% for 75 months through Texas Dow Employees Credit Union. If I still wanted the 0%, I would lose the cash rebates and employee discount I was offered. Reluctantly, I chose the 75 month offer knowing I will pay it off sooner. What I learned through this loan debacle was GAP coverage did not apply from TDECU. I offered to purchase it through them and they said I couldn't since I didn't finance directly with the credit union. Huh? Shouldn't have Tomball Ford provided me w/a list of gap coverage vendors? My car insurer does not sell gap coverage unless you finance the car with them. So, I refinanced the car before the first car note was due for 2.82% for 72 months, gap coverage and waive the deductible. My note increased $20 a month by cutting 3 months off & TDECU got the middle finger! No, I won't tell you who my insurer is. But do your homework and have your financing ready by your own bank! Financing was not forth coming on certain optional after market packages that were included in the final paperwork. Second, I was asked to sign 2 copies of paperwork in case there is a mistake, MAJOR RED FLAG. I was in no rush to purchase this vehicle and told them that I would return and we could finish up the sale. I needed to leave by 215pm to pick up my toddler. Now they were hurrying up to get the paperwork done so I didn't have to return. When you hurry you are bound to make mistakes. read more

Had a terrible experience here this Saturday. We drove a truck, pulled it up to the front of the store, worked a deal, SHOOK THE SALESMAN's hand, only to be told it was sold to the couple sitting in the cube next to us. These guys were working a deal on the same truck with two couples. We began first and negotiated in good faith and came to an agreement. However, I guess they made more money on the other couple because they got the truck. These people are pure garbage. They didn't even offer to find me another truck because they didn't have the same one in stock and I told them that was the most I could afford. The two lowest grade humans on the planet are Kent Hobelman and Tyler Phelps. These guys were the pricing guys working two deals on the same truck. I wish there was something I could have done. However, this seems to be a good medium. Kent Hobelman, Tyler Phelps=Garbage. Update: they still suck. We ended up buying an F250 from Joe Myers Ford. I had been a 2-time, loyal customer until today. From the start I made it clear that I wanted their absolute, best cash price. He told me that a) he had total authority to get a deal done and needed no one else's approval and b) when we got down to final numbers, he said that while he "would not lose the deal over the $400 difference" in our bid ask, he wanted some financing concessions from me. I declined (remember, he was not going to lose the deal) and in the end both comments were lies. When it became clear I was not budging (remember, I had purchased 2 other vehicles from them over the past year) he first went to the manager (lie, see above) and also did not come down to my offer (lie, see above). I have purchased two vehicles from Tomball Ford over the years. Recently bought a 2016 Ford f150 XLT that got flooded during a rain storm. Engine had to be rebuilt and was done by Tomball Ford. Since then I have had to take the vehicle in every two months or so because of some mechanical issue. I understand that a rebuild is a complicated affair and that bug fixes come with the process, I have no complaint in that regard. What I do have complaint with is the extreme hassle that you go through everytime you deal with their service department. I literally loath dealing with these people...Setting an appointment is hit or miss. I have called to schedule an appointment only to be told when I come in on the day of.. that they know nothing about it...the lack of internal communication is non existent. The lack of customer engagement is lack luster at best. You should not feel like your at the department of public safety getting your DL license when dealing with Tomball Ford. BUT, They are close to where I live so I just sucked it up and dealt with it. UNTIL now..I have decided to end my affiliation with Tomball Ford for one simple reason. They no longer take appiontments. The new policy is you drop off your vehicle to them they keep it until they can get to it... Which is open ended and averages a week to two weeks. Mean while your out a vehicle,... This is an insane policy.. and goes to show how out of touch Tomball Ford is with their customer if they think basic folks have the where with all to reliquish their primary mode of transportation to park it on their lot until they can get to it..So my suggestion to you is to pass Tomball Ford and take your business down the road as I have done. read more

Can I leave 0 stars??? Saw a truck online and contacted the dealership. Asked if the specific truck I was interested in was still available and was told it was. As soon as I got off work I text again to make sure the truck was still available and the online price was correct. I was told it was correct and I headed out on the hour and a half drive after working all day. When I arrived they took me straight to the truck I asked about. It was great and exactly what I wanted. Then we go to look at working a deal. The salesman come back with a price that was $31k above the price I was quoted online and over the phone!!! He proceeds to tell me that the online price didn't include dealer added options. I may have been ok with that except there was MAYBE $10k worth of options added to the truck and that is being very generous. And they were advertised on the truck with the price. while dealing with this dealership, and their service department, i bought a brand new 2022 ford explorer timberline as well as the extended ford protect plan in case anything happens, and low and behold not even 4 months after purchase, the car has an electrical failure, locked the car in park and was unable to drive. when my wife called to the service department, and said the car would need to be towed in and what the vehicle was (they do record the phone and verified with them this occurred.) there was no direction to use the roadside assistance, no direction other then the car would be looked at in the order it was received. which could take up to three days. at that time they would do a diagnostic and see if anything is under warranty or what plan she had. the last ford i bought was in 2004 an expedition and dealing with that vehicle I promised myself i would not go back, but i wanted to give them one more shot since they are an American brand but after dealing with this dealership i can understand why people drive foreign cars i am stuck with this vehicle until i can flip but i will never but another ford the rest of my life. read more

So my fiance came in on a Thursday evening to trade in our vehicle for a used one, he worked with a saleswoman named Andrea. He got approved for the vehicle but she said that she was going to work on a better deal with the finance manager to get us a lower payment and see what we can do so we waited and kept in touch all that weekend, and yes we have text messages to prove that we have kept in touch with her, and nothing happened. So Tuesday afternoon rolls around and they sold the vehicle either Monday evening or Tuesday morning without anyone telling us!!!! I had to call and ask because when I drove by there the vehicle was gone!!! I was upset and spoke with Carlos, the used cars manager, and he apologized and said that he would work with me directly. However, Andrea called me and said that she is still working on a deal, with what vehicle I have no idea, but that is what I was told and so I have been waiting for almost 3 weeks already and no one has gotten back! And yes, I have text to check in and see what's going on and yet I keep getting the same response that they are going to check on our paperwork and see what's going on and yet nobody has gotten back with me! This is very unprofessional I don't even know why we wasted our time trying to check back in or wait for about A MONTH for a damn response. To the point then ill go into detail on my experience. * Horrible customer service at the parts and service and offered no rental while it was going to take 3 weeks for them just to look at the car * low grade sales and finance employees. When you think of snakes in sales, these guys are the epitome * I know 4 people who have purchased a vehicle from these guys and each and everyone have all said the same, horrible experience in the purchase and then with the service and parts department. Don't buy into what you are seeing here. Reality doesnt tie into this. Look at the yelp reviews and then google. Id even say google has been littered with false reviews. My experience. I wanted the focus st and they had the build I wanted. My sales rep started the dialog by saying, I dont care what I sell this car to you for, you will be walking away with it today. Typical procedure ensued, test drive, credit run etc. So we go to start talking numbers and I said very honestly, I want to pay X for this car, this is what I have for the down payment and I had a trade in and was asking a modest X$$ for that. I said, at the interest rate you have that would put my payments at X per month which I absolutely will not go above. Sales rep says of course let me submit it. And of course comes back with a much higher monthly payment. I said, no, I told you what I have and I refuse to go above it, so just be honest and tell me if you can do it, if not, no biggie, we just wont reach the deal. Comes back with yet another offer higher. Let me say I know this is typical. I get about 6 different deals of putting down more money, or financing for 6 or 7 years instead of 5 etc etc. I say no and am ready to leave. Then the manager comes out. Young guy, and says look, cant you just pay more, my sales rep is having a hard time, just pay some more. I say no, and that I have been honest with you from the start. You can make the deal or not. He says, come on man, not sir, he is having a hard month just help him out here. I say, what I am hearing is no, and thank you for the time but I cannot pay more. I get dirty looks and he leaves, then the sales rep comes back and says more or less the same, so I stand up to leave and he goes back for one more offer and they finally accepted my initial offer albeit very grudgingly. At this point I see the manager shaking hands with other folks who have closed a deal and thanking them, he wont even look at me, all for sticking to my offer. Then I get back in financing and the older (I wont even call him a gentleman) says, congratulations sign all the paper work. As I am doing so I see my payments are 20$ higher than what I negotiated. I ask him why and he says well you are still getting a good deal. I say okay, I'm done. Everyone there knew what I was willing to pay per month and for how long and they tried to stick it in at closing. So he says, what are you trying to waste everyones time. I say the opposite, they have been wasting mine and Im about to leave. He says hold on, makes a call, and says okay we can get your payments back to XXX. Finally done. 5 months later I have to take into for a small oil leak around the turbo. They said it would be 3 weeks till they can look at it and I have to leave the car there and they I dont qualify for a rental. I asked to ensure warranty should cover the service and the rep says, maybe leading me to think they would try and snake out of taking care of the finances on what should be covered. I called Joe Myers and they took in my car during a super busy time and knocked it out in 2 days. They asked why I wasnt going to Tomball so I could get a rental and the rep was shocked that they wouldnt give me one, because Joe Myers offers rentals to all folks who purchase through them. They apologized on behalf of Tomball and explained how their current manager has super high expectations on their levels of customer service and it shows. I was completely satisfied and regret so much not shopping a different dealership. read more

Lie to you to get you in the door and then hold your car hostage until the "get around" to working on your car. They told me on the phone as well as when I dropped my car off it would be done by the end of the day. When I went to pick it up at the end of the day the finally told me they haven't even got around to my car and wouldn't for at least another 3 days. I was very pleasantly surprised at my experience at the Tomball Ford dealership. I knew what I was looking for and had already picked the car before I went and knew if I found no issues once I saw and drove the vehicle I would be purchasing it. My salesperson was wonderful. First time I have purchased a car and didn't feel pressured, I didn't want any add ons except for gap and she didn't pressure me for anything else. They didn't slap on charges for things like window tints and such that already exist. The entire process was pressure free, pleasant and quick considering. After driving the car the first day it shut off on me and I thought oh no, I made a mistake. I brought right back and in and they put in a new battery at no charge and everything was good. They also had filled the tank full when I had purchased it, without me asking for that upfront. I had originally inquired about a car at Planet Ford and been pre-approved. The salesman couldn't seem to find or know what car I had been interested in. I expained to him exactly what I wanted and made an appointment to go in after work. He sent me photos of five vehicles on their lot and only one met anything close to the criteria I asked for and he couldn't tell me the mileage or prices. That turned me off and when I called to cancel the appt because I was looking at something else, he sternly told me that he can't do anything for me if I go somewhere else and they don't finance me because only they are the best and do all this. I was excited about the possibility of buying a new F150 Tremor. I have used TrueCar in the past and loved the experience, but that was with a different TrueCar-affiliated dealer. I had been in contact with Taylor, the salesperson since 9/24. Yesterday, I found the one I wanted and got a TrueCar quote on the Tremor and on my trade-in. I was happy with both quotes. I told Taylor I had the quotes and sent her a screen-shot. She said "great, let's do it; when can you be here so I can have the truck pulled around for you?". I told her I was driving from Conroe so it would be an hour. I drove out there, and the first thing she did was take my car and park it around the corner, to be "appraised". I told her I had the TrueCar cash offer, but she said they still had to appraise it. I was all good with that! After the test drive, we sat down and the first thing she wanted me to do was sign a piece of paper saying that I would buy the truck today. Are you kidding? Then she said she had to "check availability" on the truck. What?! I confirmed it was available before I drove to Tomball! When she came back, she said "good news, it's available and here are the numbers." She NEVER looked up the TrueCar deal, and instead put a piece of paper in front of me with a trade-in value of 12k less with no reason for the decrease. I told her that I was done, and to get my keys. She said "that's just the first pencil numbers". She spent more time away talking to other people than listening to me. If the salesman can't make the deal, then I shouldn't be sitting at their desk. She then sent Jana over to talk to me, Jana who claimed to be the European car expert. When I mentioned test driving an RS6-Avant, she said "that's about $55k?". A Euro. car expert would know it's a $130k car....She told me that "this is a truck place", as some kind of excuse for undervaluing my car, again without referencing the TrueCar deal. Not once did anyone try and lookup by TrueCar deal. I felt like this was the type of dealership that plays all the old tricks..sign this form, let me talk to my manager, that's just the first pencil numbers....and that's why I won't be giving them my business. The location of Ford should be shut down, they're trying to scam me out of $1200 after I just paid Ford $1700. They are trying to charge me for repairs that are covered by Ford warranty. They're saying because Ford dealerships are independent they don't have to follow my warranty. I'm sorry are you not a Ford dealership? Don't buy a car from here and don't take your car here to be repaired. I hope they lose one of their only two stars. read more

This is an "old school" dealership and that is not a compliment. Had to ask multiple times for the X-Plan discount. Hit me at full retail the first time through. Loaded me down with warranties and other money-makers for the dealership without disclosing such. Wasted my time by putting my salesman in an endless loop with the 'Floor Manager' (don't know what he was managing) despite my pleas to sharpen his pencil. Went to lunch in the middle of the negotiation. Treated me like a convicted felon (by trying to 'confirm' my employment status at a business who's employees are eligible for x-plan by using the excuse 'we've had contractors trying to get your employee discount here before.' As a result of their bumbling, instead of buying the car locally, I went to their competition, and saved a lot of MONEY and TIME. The floor manager was very fond of telling me that it took 8 hours for the average person to buy a car. I told him I was exceptional and I didn't expect that. And I meant it. And the floor manager? He's probably wasting someone else's time, maybe yours, and maybe your money, too. read more

Please read all reviews of this dealership before wasting your time. I have purchased 3 new Fords over the past 10 years and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. The dealership is run like a mouse trap and it appears that the staff is trained to employ every under handed tactic synonymous with car dealerships. If you are expecting to walk in and find the vehicle you were told is in stock - Wrong! If you are expecting not to go through a 5 hour grind - Wrong! If you are expecting them to honor a price that they agreed to over the phone - Wrong! If you are expecting that they will not use your trade in vehicle as hostage to keep you from leaving - Wrong! If you are expecting to find the price of the vehicle to adhere to the viewable window sticker you saw on the internet without insane dealer add ons like "Shark Repellant Spray" or "Super Duper Fabric Protector" - Wrong! All in all, this dealership is a semen stain to the Ford name and a disservice to loyal patrons. Ford should realize the damage to the brand that owners of such dubious dealerships are causing and force them to put people like the current Sales Manager back into his petri dish. read more

This place emailed me this week. I have no idea how they got my personal email address, but they thought it was for one of their clients. I emailed them back saying I was not a client of theirs, and they emailed me back asking if I was "(Customer's full name) at (full home address)". They actually provided me with someone's full name and address!!!! Do you even understand how dangerous that is?! I don't even live in the same region of the country as this place but I highly suggest that NO ONE go to this business. I can't believe they provided me with someone's personal information. I don't think I've ever encountered something so unprofessional. Their customer relations manager should really understand that this is not ok in the slightest. read more

For anyone that might need work done on your vehicle, Do not take it to tomball ford. I asked them to fix my steering. I waited over a week to get my truck back. When i got it back my steering was not fixed. They also charged me over 600 dollars to replace a 40 dollar bushing. They also said they could fix the problem for another 1000 dollars. I did it my self for 100 bucks. (still have the same steering problem). the customer service is the worst as well. They talked to me like i was a dummy. Was also treated with the most disrespect. Tomball of ford is the worst place you could ever take your vehicle!!! read more
