This is coming from an Asian American who came here as a tourist, so I did the most tourist thing ever and ordered what I knew Austria and Germany was famous for, an Apple strudel. And I'm glad I did because that apple strudel was the best I had on my trip there. I am not a desserts person, so take my view of this pastry with a grain of salt, but I felt that apples were of good quality, the pastry itself did not feel overwhelmingly sweet even with the sauce that comes on the side with. We walked down the main street, Maria-Theresien Strasse, and stumbled upon this place. We glanced at the menu outside, and decided to give it a go due to the variety in dishes. We almost immediately went for venison, as it definitely struck that craving chord in me. Both dishes were venison (one steak and one stew dish). When delivered and consumed, they definitely did not disappoint. The steak came drizzled with an appetizing creamy mushroom sauce with a side of what I can only describe as oversized tater tots. The stew was almost like a goulash, served with a side of spaetzle. We finished our meal with a desert and coffee. Overall great meal.
