Their work is both exceptional and reasonably priced. We have J.Gudiel Landscaping cut and edge our grass, prune our bushes, lay down mulch in the spring, and do a fall clean-up. Our yard always looks neat and beautiful during the spring, summer and fall. Jose and his team are also available to help with other yard work. For instance they were able to fix several sections of our falling vinyl fence, and this is when we couldn't find a company to do the small job. Jose always keeps us informed, and quickly responds to any concerns you may have. And you can tell he takes great pride in his work. You won't be disappointed!

We had a back porch that was rotting and falling apart and needed to be removed. We also had a hot tub that I thought would complicate things. But when Jose arrived to give us a quote he knew exactly what needed to be done and that's why we hired him. His team deconstructed our porch and made a beautiful patio along with two sets of steps. They also made a support wall to ensure that the steps stay in place. Throughout this whole project, Jose was easily approachable, communicative and friendly. We couldn't be happier with the final product. I will be hiring Jose again for future projects!

I initially had reservations about using a designer in general because I wasn't sure how everything would look and I wanted my house to be mine after everything was said and done. Allen was very receptive to my concerns and helped both me and my fiance understand the remodeling process and helped to keep in in control of the process. His suggestions ended up being exactly what I was looking for and then some! He was even able to help me work around the restrictions of my condo association which was amazing! Highly recommended I can't say it enough.

Essentially, most of our house was demo'd for this major project. We were nervous about everything, cost, design, etc and Allen walked us through each step, making us extremely confident about the project. He is very thoughtful and experienced when it comes to both function and thinking long term to resale value. Allen made many suggestions that we did not know were even possible to increase the functionality of our (new) home. We are now in the midst of the renovation/addition and he is still involved in the process to make sure we are happy with the design. I really cannot say enough about him as well as the contractor that he referred us to. We would highly recommend Allen and SDA (so much so that 2 of our neighbors are planning to work with him in the near future)!

Tim and his team have worked with us on three completed residential projects at our home. We are…read morenow preparing to start a fourth phase, which we hope will complete the upgrade of our nearly 60 year old Cape. The first project was a street facing dormer that reshaped the look of the house from the exterior, while providing where before there had been a gloomy restrictive hall, expansive new well lit space inside. Interior finishes included high density foam insulation, replacing all old style wood trim with new bold trim, a long window seat, and custom shelves, cabinets and a built in desk. With the contractors still on site, a design in hand, we started the second project, while halfway through the first. This project was to upgrade the original 1966 upstairs bathroom, and replaced it with a 3 room segmented space that had separate shower/bath, toilet, and 2 sink washroom. We have 4 bedrooms on the second floor. With Tim we created the perfect 4 person bathroom, where all 4 could, if necessary, simultaneously have privacy, while sharing the same space. Tim designed the cabinetry for both the 8' vanity, and shower/tub room. Tile selections, combined with careful LED placement, gave us a bright usable space. When the second floor dormer and bathroom were complete, we moved from our downstairs Master bedroom to one of the upstairs bedrooms to make way for the third project, which was intended to provide a first floor master suite where we could eventually gracefully age in place. Tim's design gutted the left side of our house, removing the master bedroom, a guest room, powder room and small classic 1960's master bath consisting of a shower, toilet and single sink. He extended, with a full basement under, the back of the house 8' for the length of the master bedroom and master bath. The finished product comprised an expanded entry hall, relocated formal powder room, and entry coat closet, an expanded Master Bedroom with a large walk in closet, and a Master bath unit that included a closeted laundry, 8' counter with 2 sinks, linen closet, and a wet room that allowed ample space for a shower that had both a wall head and ceiling rain shower, plus a full size bath tub. Exterior walls and ceilings were insulated with closed cell foam that provides the most remarkable heat and A/C retention. As with the upstairs Tim paid particular attention to the finish details, being uncompromising and bold with the door design, windows, molding, trim, as well as adding crown molding. Doors were sized to allow wheelchair access, if we were to ever need it, bathroom fixtures while beautiful, were also selected to ensure they would be as relevant today, as they might need to be in 20 years. We completed these projects last spring, and love the finished work, with us particularly enjoying the space, comfort, and grandeur of our bedroom and bathroom. These projects were part of a master plan we had initially worked on with Tim, with the final stage of the master plan to bump out our constricted family room and kitchen, plus remove a small three season converted breezeway between the garage and house, replacing it with a two story space that will combine Tim's bold style with our desire for a functional kitchen, and more importantly a warm welcoming home.

The pros: our new kitchen looks great, in a large part due to the incredible design done by my…read morewife, an excellent architect, and by generally good workmanship from the sub-contractors. The cons: I would never work with F.H. Perry on any future renovation. Here are a few of the highlights: - Flooring mistake - The sub-contractor who put our flooring in underestimated the amount of material required. This left us with two choices: 1) take a big delay in the project (possibly 3-4 weeks) while we waited for more material to come in, while also rescheduling all subsequent sub-contractors, or 2) tile the visible parts and whatever non-visible parts of the floor we could with the available material. Unfortunately we felt we had no choice but to go with #2 and so now have tile in the visible and some of the non-visible parts of the kitchen, allowing us to neither change out the cabinets or floor without ripping up both. - HVAC issue - Our site supervisor said it didn't make sense to heat under the cabinets and recommended putting floor heat underneath only the visible parts of the kitchen floor. Our previous kitchen had heated floors that spanned the visible and non-visible parts of the kitchen, which worked well. But based on F.H. Perry's feedback, this seemed unnecessary. Unfortunately the loss of the additional piping does not allow the floor heat to keep up when the temperature goes below 20 degrees. - Site supervisor pulled / project overrun - Toward the end of our project, F.H. Perry pulled our site supervisor to work on a bigger project, assigning two people part-time to play this role. We had expected to have a handoff meeting to make sure we had a clean transition, but instead we had two very distracted new people who had very little knowledge of our renovation were rarely here. What was estimated to have been a 10 week project dragged on for another 6-8 weeks with no effective project supervision. - Cost overrun on drain project - As part of kitchen renovation, we had F.H. Perry take on a drain project in the backyard. We received a verbal only estimate for the work that we thought was high but moved forward. We constantly asked for more details during the project and were told only that "the digging took longer than expected." When we received the bill it was 5X the estimate, the majority of which was for three diggers / unskilled workers to manually dig a hole. The sub-contractor's bill was completely indecipherable, and it was clear they were charging for work that could not possibly have been done. In the end, I give F.H. Perry some credit for admitting the absurdity of the invoice and being willing to substantially discount the bill - but only after my wife provided all the details on the workers and hours worked by the contractor. - Network cabling - This is minor but is a good example of our overall experience. The entire house had been wired with cat6 cabling prior to the start of the renovation. As part of this project, we asked F.H. Perry to move a network drop four feet from its current location. After the kitchen was completed, I tested the network port and it was not live. In bringing the subcontractors back, it seems they just attached a random cable they found to the outlet, never bothering to ensure it went anywhere (it didn't) or that it was cat6 (it was cat5). Overall we had a very poor experience with F.H. Perry and would never consider or recommend them for a residential project.
