    Homemade potato chip
    Katie G.

My boyfriend picked out this place for a celebration. We were both really happy with our food and the service. We started with the Manchego cheese plate which was really simple but paired really well with our pitcher of sangria. The waiter we had (unfortunately I forgot his name as we went at the beginning of the month) was so friendly and funny! My boyfriend is big on chicken and rice and he has referred to how good the Chicken Al Ajillo was. I had the Truffle Filet Mignon which was cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed the side of homemade potato chips, which reminded me of a restaurant that I went to when I was in Spain (which has potatoes too lol). Overall, I'd highly recommend!

Cute spanish restaurant that's located right next to my office, so I came here once for drinks after work. It was really quiet when we walked in, which was kind of awkward because there was a loud group of us. We all sat by the bar, and I got a pitcher of sangria that I split with my friend. It was actually so good and the perfect size for 2 people. We didn't order any food, but they kept bringing over small snacks for us to pick on. They even brought over homemade chips, which we all went crazy over. The best part is that they must've just been made because they were warm. When we were about to leave, the waiter gave a couple of us a free shot. I'm not a big fan of shots, but this one was absolutely delicious, even though I have no idea what it was. Absolutely great service here because you could tell they truly wanted you to enjoy yourself.

A well dressed host greeted us from the front door to our lovely table. We were highly impressed. Our wine was delish and our meal...mine seafood paella...his chicken rice and chorizo. Large portions full of flavor. Seasoned to perfection. Waiters were polite and made sure to check on us. Prices were moderate and location great. Casual dress to business suit is fine. Can't wait to return to try other things on their menu.

I wanted to love Toledo because it is one of my friend's favorite places but I honestly was left completely dissatisfied. The weird thing is none of the food was inherently terrible but instead there was just absolutely nothing special about anything and the vast majority of it lacked any flavor whatsoever. The only food item that I thought was decent was the jamón, which, let's be honest, is hard to mess up anyways. On top of that, the waiter was also quite overbearing but when there's literally only two parties dining there I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The only reason why I gave it two stars versus one is that they have very good wine. However, many places do so I won't be returning back.

I've been here 4 times now with my boss, who absolutely loves the restaurant. I'm not a huge fan of classic Spanish food but love Basque food; I usually find food from the rest of Spain usually bland or prepared poorly. This place however does Spanish food well. I'm surprised to see some poor reviews on here. The price point is high, but I've been fortunate to never have to foot the bill here, so of course that makes everything taste better! I usually order one of the lobster entrees here which are tasty and delicious. I've tried a large number of their appetizers including their croquetas, jamon, stuffed mushrooms and escargot - all delicious and perfectly cooked (with the exception of the ham of course). For dessert, I always order the macadamia tart which tastes just like pecan pie with macadamia nuts instead of pecans. Now for the service. I'm really surprised by other reviewers' comments. If anything, the best thing is in fact the service whenever we come here! They are extremely attentive and even have a waiter stand by the table to signal for more wine as soon as one's glass runs low.

Let's start with the look... wow. I mean, I was like, "Shit! I hope my date goes well, cuz this place looks expensive (it did. she was a very cool and fun person.)!" Anyway, I needed to find a quick spot near my dates job, as our plans to get Colombian food had to be pushed. After reading up on some spots, this one stuck out to me the most. The service is incredible (my date quipped that she felt bad getting up to go to the bathroom while the waiters were out of the room, cuz they might get offended that she got up without them pulling out her chair and helping her LOL)! The food was very good (I had the chicken al ajillo) and they are such dickheads, cuz when it comes time for dessert, they bring the ENTIRE FREAKIN CART OUT!!! How you gonna say no to that (genius! LOL)?!?! The crowd there was older and rich. My date and I were def younger than most of their socks (did I mention older? by older, I meant OOOLDD.) Overall, would love to try it again. PS: Extra props cuz they have Don Julio tequila

We tried a variety of dishes and each one was a hit (from the croquettes to the octopus to the paella). One member of our group doesn't usually like seafood and thought the octopus was delicious! The drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic) were also yummy. The staff were super accommodating as well which I really appreciated!! Of note, the restaurant bar stays open longer than the kitchen so make sure you check in with them on when the kitchen closes (it was around 10 when we went but things were still in flux so that may change!)

The table we sat at was quite large, and I think it could have fit a few more people. The staff was friendly, and the lighting wasn't too dark, nor was it too loud. While I liked the atmosphere, I found the food, or rather specifically the tapas, to be not good at best, while the main dishes were better but also ranged in quality. The fact that the tapas we ordered were pretty closely priced to the mains means I would recommend the mains only based on portion and taste alone. To drink, a bunch of us split a bottle of wine from their large and pretty reasonably priced selection. The first tapas that arrived was something that I could not eat. This was the Pulpo Zarautz for $32, listed as octopus with garlic and merken seasoning served over mashed baby potatoes. The dish was small, and people thought it was OK as they found the pieces of octopus a tad chewy. They liked the spices but were surprised that the potatoes were a bit cool. The $24 Gambas Al Ajillo, with slow-cooked prawns, white wine, EVOO, garlic, and mermen, was alright. There was a handful of shrimp, and they were decently cooked, but the "ajillo," or rather, the garlic, was very light. Therefore, I found it a bit bland, which is almost never the case for this dish. I wouldn't recommend this based on price and flavor. Last and least of the tapas was the $22 Tortilla De Patatas, listed simply as a Spanish omelette. There was an option to add chorizo for $2 more, which we did. Along with the omelette, this also arrived with a few sauces and some pieces of crunchy bread, which were the highlight, as the omelette wasn't good either. The texture of the omelette was very different than any other Spanish omelette I've ever had. It was quite soft with a bit of chew, with a mild chorizo flavor. Along with the greenish color, it wasn't exactly appetizing. I wouldn't recommend this at all, but thankfully, that was the last tapas we ordered. My favorite of the main dishes was the Solomillo & Pebre for $28, listed as skirt steak topped with parsley and olive oil, with hand-cut fried potato and salad. While not the most tender, as it is a skirt steak, it was still well-flavored with the topping almost reminding me, to an extent, of a less oily version of chimichurri. The potatoes had a unique texture, being slightly crispy on the outside while remaining slightly soft in the middle. The salad on the side, which also arrived with one of our other mains, was a tasty mix and certainly more effort than a typical salad you find in many of these places. We also liked the $32 Costillas De Cerdito, with pork ribs in beer, mustard, and rosemary with hand-cut fried potato and salad. The pork ribs were flavorful, though I did find a bit of it to be a bit fatty, but some of that is expected with pork ribs. The mildly sweet and slightly rich sauce paired with the pork ribs. The same comments from before can be made about the potatoes and salad. Last was the OK Paella De Mariscos for $38, listed as rice cooked with shrimp, mussels, clams, prawns, and fresh saffron. The portion size was good, with a lot of mussels and clams in particular, and a handful of shrimp. Of the bite I had of the two large prawns, they were plump and juicy as well. However, the rice was both a bit bland and a tad mushy and felt a bit overcooked compared to many other paellas. There was some socarrat on the bottom as per usual, which was the best part. It's a bit difficult to rate this place. The spices, textures, and flavors were lacking from the overpriced tapas, and I honestly wouldn't recommend any of them. For the main dishes, they were tasty, but you can get a better-cooked skirt steak at many other places for a similar price. The ribs were decent, and the paella was just OK. If we only had the tapas, I probably would be giving this place a 1, but for the whole meal, an upper 2, rounded up.

The Brussel sprouts were crispy with a tangy dressing topped with dried cranberries and raisins. This dish had a nice balance. There were two-three fairly larger hunkers which we had to cut up but otherwise flavor was nice. Next came the top sirloin cooked to medium with a bed of roasted carrot purée and a salsa sauce. The sirloin was seasoned nicely and cooked to perfection- very tender! By far my favorite dish! The calamari was a bit of a disappointment. It was fried too crispy and lost the calamari taste.
