Love the quiet calming ambiance of this small hidden gem off of 441. I thought the portions seem small but tbh it was the perfect amout, left very satisfied and not bloated ready for bed. The service is great very prompt and very polite. I had the beef ramn noodles, the broth is spicy which it clearly specified in the menu very flavorful, noodles were cook to perfection, and the beef were these magnificent pieces of very tender and jucy steak will definitely recommend. The prices are very fair given the overall quality. It's a must visit if you are in the area.

what i liked was that the portions were enough, and not too much so you felt bloated, or had to get a to-go box. i got a vegetable teriyaki, fries, and seaweed salad. i liked everything i got. i took a star off for 'atmosphere' because there was some obnoxious channel they were playing that only played ads. put on some oriental music at the very least. it's not that complicated. except for the fact that i tried to hook up my mp3 player to their speaker, but it didn't work. could't get the bluetooth connected, couldn't play from the 1/8" audio jack. they were using a usb cable which i didn't have. bummer i do want to come back and try something off the breakfast menu

Teriyaki beef meal.

After reading a lot of good reviews I decided to give it a try tonight. I called in for pick up order and was told it's 25 minute wait. When I got there it was ready and only 3 seated guests eating in. I ordered the teriyaki beef which comes with white steamed rice and vegetables. Also small Miso soup. The beef is tough. Rice is basic. Fresh cooked veggies were decent. Soup was hot and tasty. Price was $18 which I thought was high based on the portion size. (In comparison to the portion size I can get at other Chinese restaurants). I wasn't impressed enough to return.

Ramen Chicken

I normally look for recommendations for places to go eat but sometimes I just go somewhere based on my location. Music is random, not themed but this is a small place. I got my Taro Boba tea relatively quickly. Not the best I've tasted but scratched that boba tea itch I have. I tried the more traditional tapioca boba verses the strawberry. I might try that another time. I ordered the Lunch Bento box special. The Miso soup is ok. Veggies are cooked well but a little firm. The Bulgogi was good. I liked it the best out of food I'm eating. I also ordered the chicken Ramen soup. It is a little spicy but very pleasant.Full disclaimer. I eat super hot things so in terms of heat, this was super mild to me. I was hungry so I ordered two plates. The serving size of the Bento box was appropriately sized for lunch. The soup was larger but the combination of the two meals filled me up. I have spent approximately $34.00 for two meals and Boba tea. I would have spent more possibly for less food in other places. Does it knock your socks off? No but it doesn't have to. It is good enough for delivery and should be given serious consideration. Mind you I came in here and it seems like the cook was here preparing the food by herself so this really is a mom and pop and she did forget my spoon but this is good food. Good for takeout.

Shrimp tempura roll, dragon roll and crab Rangoon.

Good, pleasant service. Food was fresh and hot. Crab Rangoon had thin and crispy wonton, the most crab filling I've ever had, and the sauce was fabulous! Loved it. Atmosphere was chill and comfortable. We will be back.

The ONLY place to get Kolaches (warm yeast rolls with a choice of fillings) - if you don't know what a Kolache is, do yourself and your family a huge favor and try some, or many. Very addictive, in a good food kind of way. And their Doughnuts are so wonderfully good!! For hardcore doughnut lovers, like me, this puts others to shame (looking at you DD). Everything about this place is what you would want wherever you live, and if you're here in Lake County, we struck gold. I must admit that the prices are higher than I would like, but that seems to be the case everywhere. I am going to post this elsewhere too, because this local shop deserves our support, and selfishly, I want to be able to stop by there when I want, so I need them to thrive. It is one of those places that, if you try it, you are hooked. Oh, and everyone who works there is super cheerful and helpful. Long post, but now you know a little about Cousin's Kolaches.

Dora Cafe - Breakfast Combo w/ Sausage Links, Hash browns, toast and OJ...delicious!

We've found another great breakfast spot and it was worth the drive to Mount Dora. I heard about…read morethis place on the radio and decided to give it a try. They have all the breakfast items you can imagine and a whole bunch of lunch and dinner options as well. Their menu continues to expand. We, of course, went for breakfast and had our choice of eggs and bacon and grits and pancakes ... but what stood out for me was the biscuits and gravy and the SOS. If you don't know what SOS stands for, look it up... it's a great breakfast item. The SOS is not the same as the biscuits and sausage gravy because that is sausage gravy, the SOS has chipped beef in gravy and usually will come on toast, but I prefer it with the biscuits. I asked for my eggs over easy and they were just right. The side of grits comes in a small bowl which is a good portion for one person and the pancakes were humongous - a very good size for two pancakes and golden brown... I ended up sharing with my wife. We were very happy with the service that they gave us and one of the managers came around to see if everything was good or if we needed anything and we really appreciated that. This is a very down to earth place where it feels like home. It's a great place to bring the family, and we did see a lot of people with their kids, but, we also saw couples like myself and my wife sharing some good coffee or sweet tea and loving life. We are definitely coming back because I wanna try the teriyaki chicken plates and I'm very interested in the shrimp and scallops.

Like I said...perspective. Those in the know in Mt. Dora have been to Dora Cafe, a charming old-school cafe serving as much friendly service as yummy good. Mad respect for the sweet staff onsite, quick to smile and welcome you in while you wait just a few minutes to be served tasty food. Simple, good food - that's what's up here. Also, a very interesting variety of plates - simple breakfast combos, teriyaki, Cuban sandwiches, Shepard's Pie, gyros, and chicken livers! What?! Swear to God! Open from 6a-2p every day. Definitely get in on the breakfast combo - yummy hash browns and they even have sausage links AND patties! C'mon...now you're just showing off. I will absolutely be back...and I'm genuinely looking forward to it.

The eggnog French toast tasted like Christmas morning in carb form, the banana foster waffle with candied pecans was indulgent in all the right ways, and the French toast with blueberry compote and lemon curd was the perfect sweet-tangy mic drop. Every bite was better than the last. The staff was friendly, attentive, and moved with the cheerful efficiency of elves who've had just the right amount of coffee. Fair warning: it's a small spot and they don't take reservations, so we showed up about 30 minutes before they opened at noon--and it was 100% worth it.
