Very disappointing takeout experience on January 28th, 2026 at 6:07 pm. I paid $49.90 for Hunan Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Chicken Lo Mein. Every single dish had no more that 3-4 thin, tiny pieces of meat. Mostly noodles, onions, broccoli and sauce. Calling these "chicken" and "beef" dishes is misleading. This is terrible value for the price and feels deceptive. I will not be ordering again from this place. The place has a new owner and their integrity level is no way like the previous owner. read more

So disappointed by this restaurant. I ordered veg lo mein, veg fried rice and edamame to go. The edamame was in a styrofoam container so all the gross chemicals just seep into the hot food The veg lo mein had an awful burnt smell and taste, I couldn't even eat it. This is real deal American Chinese Food. It is expensive. The sushi is really good and I will recommend the Grandfather's Chicken, and Chicken and Broccoli. My grandson loves the Goyza. read more

What happened? When this place first opened it was really good. It has gone down hill the last 5 or so years ago but we were hoping it would be as good as it used to be so we tried again but were disappointed again. The fried rice (like another reviewer mentioned) was tasteless and barely had any pork and the wonton soup was also tasteless. The basics you can't even do right. We are done! read more

It was the first time I've ordered take out from this Maderien Group Location. And it was very very good. The Spicy Thai Shrimp was excellent. The wonton dumplings were so fresh they melted in my mouth. The XMAS Maki special sushi roll was also very fresh .. definitely my new go to for sushi and special chef's dishes. read more

Very good in my opinion, and priced appropriately. We got the general tso's, Panang chicken, crab rangoons, and 2 sushi rolls - spicy tuna a philly. Pros: Chicken in the panang chicken was tender and juicy. Tiny bit of spice was nice and the veggies were tender and fresh. General tso's was crispy and the sauce was good. Crab rangoons were delicious and flavorful. I'm not sure what sauce it was served with, but it was different than I was used to and very good. Cons: The philly roll isn't a traditional philly roll. This was made with crab whereas I'm used to it being salmon and cream cheese. (Still tasty though) The sauces they gave us were pretty sparse in that there was very little in the container. Honestly not a big deal, but next time I'd ask for extra over the phone for favorites (like the one served with the crab rangoons). read more

So excited to find this gem. I am a big sushi lover and having this place less then five minutes away is seriously gold. The food was excellent and the staff is very nice and friendly. I guess since it's in the colder months they also offer you hot tea when they bring you water which is a very nice touch in my opinion. I have really tried with location. As a whole the Mandarin group is excellent. I have frequent every one Deptford, Glassboro, Swell, and Mullica Hill butfor some reason this one is just not as good. And this one is a 3 minute drive from me. I've had both Chinese and Japanese entrees there and I can't figure out the difference. So I'll guess I will continue to travel afar to get my Chinese food. Check your orders before you leave. My wife ordered #33 (seafood combination with white rice or all natural grain brown rice) $17.95 I ordered #50 (Shrimp with lobster sauce, served with pork fried rice and eggroll $9.95. When we came home and put everything on the table, there was no pork fried rice or eggroll. I called and got some bs answer that made no sense. The total bill came to $34.02. Now, do the addition. $17.95 plus $9.95 comes to $27.90. 6.5% tax takes it to $ $27.90 plus $1.67 totaling $29.57. We were cheated out of $4.45. And I didn't get a complete order, only the shrimp in lobster sauce, no pork fried rice or eggroll. I am filing a complaint with the NJ division of consumer affairs as well as disputing the charge when it comes in on my credit card. The committed fraud by deception. So, if I could rate this place less than 1 star, I would. Never going there again. read more

We recently moved to the west coast but before we left the area we would get take out here at least once every 2 weeks, the sushi MAY not be the best but I have never had better. The price is very good for what you get and it's always fresh and tasty. The Chinese food is also very good but they have a limited selection of tofu dishes. That being said, I have often asked them to make me something special by describing what I want and they have always graciously accommodated my request. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It never occurred to me how long it takes to acquire favorite restaurants. Now that we are suffering thru some really bad (or mediocre) meals, it makes me long for Mandarin Oriental and their consistently good food. read more

Mandarin Oriental is part of a small group of Chinese/Japanese restaurants in Western Gloucester County. They have consistently decent food. The orders are always ready in a reasonable amount of time and the prices are average. I have only ever gotten takeout here, but if you dine in, the dining room is very dark - like I don't think you are going to be able to see what you are eating dark so you may want to bring a flashlight. You are not going to be blown away by what you get at Mandarin Oriental, but it is a safe choice if you are in the mood for Chinese takeout. read more

I recently stopped here for lunch, considering I was jonesing for some Chinese, and this place is literally right next to where I work. They have a "Japanese side," with sushi, and a Chinese side with your standard Chinese fare. This time, I decided to go with the Chinese and ordered a General Tso's chicken. It came with a salad and some crispy wontons and duck sauce. It was all very tasty, and reasonably priced (my check came to about $9) . The place is very nicely furnished, if a little dark. We ordered take out from here and it was OK. Not the best we've ever had, but not the worst either. On a positive note, the establishment looks nice unlike a lot of other take out places. The garlic chicken was pretty good and so were the dumplings. I love scallion pancakes, however, I'd probably skip them from here. They were extremely dry. Overall, if we were really craving Chinese food, we would probably get take out again. But it's definitely not the best we've had. read more

Got sushi from the Mullica Hill location throughout the pandemic. Always great. They're open for dine-in now and we recently had a wonderful dinner! Can only speak for the sushi, but I've never had a bad experience. read more

A lazy lunch on a day off and this fit the bill. We were the first customers to arrive on a gray Monday. I highy recommend the Human Beef lunch special that comes with soup or salad, tender thin sliced beef and vegetables in spicy Hunan sauce and your choice of white, brown or fried rice. My dining companion totally enjoyed his Cashew Chicken that came with the same sides. Lunch specials are really a great deal and would be made even better if the restaurant would honor the coupons they place on the Local Flavor app but I was told I would need to go print it out. The app does offer the merchant the ability to mark coupons as used but then this restaurant apparently doesn't value regular customers. read more

Simply marvelous. I try to eat here at least once a month with friends. It's moderately priced and only semi-upscale. My friends and I can go out for a casual lunch with appetizers such as the miso or wanton soups, egg/spring rolls, and the delectable Angry Crab raggoon. I've also had wonderful dates here, the sushi is fresh and full of clean flavors. The Pad Thai is the best on the east coast in my opinion (I've tried it everywhere), and the other dishes are presented wonderfully and tastefully. It perfect for any affair. (BYOB) Also, my close friend had her wedding catered by Mandarin Oriental and no quality was lost in the presentation or taste (and this was an outdoor wedding about a 1/2 hour away from their restaurant) It was professional and classy, perfect for the large wedding. read more

I've eaten here a few times and while the food is good the service leaves a lot to be desired. We order takeout sometimes from there and the quality control is so bad it's the norm for us to check the order before we leave. Takeout often takes way longer (2-3x) than the quoted time. The eel avocado sushi roll was awesome. With that being said, this family of 4 simply could not finish our meals. The sesame chicken and general tsos was way sugary. The wok seared chili beef was way over salted. I get Americanized Chinese food, but this was pretty awful. June 20, 2018 It's been a couple months since I last ordered take out. Are last Meals were marginal. Everything taste the same. But I wanted Chinese food and I only live 4 minutes away. I called about 6:15, Gave the lady my order, she responded 10 minutes. Ordered a large Wonton, Chinese and Broccoli, and Shrimp LoMein. The Wonton was Very Good. The Shrimp LoMein had no taste. The sauce seem to e watered down. The Chicken and Broccoli was terrible. If you ever had a Chicken meal, the Chicks is always cur thin and soft. The Chicken was nothing like that. It looked as if someone took a rotisserie chicken pulled chicken pieces of the rotisserie chicken and thought it in some fried rice. On top of that, there was minimum amount of sauce for favour. Terrible. It was so bad, no one wanted to eat it. My suggestion is, instead of just trying to move food out the door. Take a little more time then 10 minutes to cook a meal. Bobtrack 50 read more

So disappointed where as I bought the house special fried rice and when I get home it is basically all rice. Where the shrimp and chicken and pork? For almost $10 it should have some. Not a single piece of shrimp. So I call to complain and he checks with the kitchen and of course the guys says the kitchen guy said he put it in. Yeah, well that just pissed me of so I told him I was coming back so we can look for it together. Wouldn't you know it when I get there he says the kitchen guy thinks he might have forgotten it. No kidding sherlock. In short check your food before leaving. Some people might say it might not be worth the two dollars in gas to return it but its the principal of it. . Feasted on the takeout with 8 other people, I'm talking about several large bags worth of food. We had so many different types of rolls and sashimi I couldn't tell one type of fish from another but they were all delicious. They were very nice to make dishes off-menu, like the tofu and string bean dish we requested. The pad thai was different but good, we were all too full from everything else to finish - a few of us were lucky enough to have it for lunch the next day. Their green tea ice cream is made just right, not too bitter nor too sweet. I have to say that the only downside is the fortunes that come in their cookies. read more
