The taco options were great: carnitas, hongos, fish taco, pollo asado--almost something for everyone. I ordered the fish taco and as a girl who spent a lot of time in Baja California growing up, they're not too far off of the real thing. It was a bit dressed up, but still, the execution of the idea was great. If I have one critique about the fish taco it's that the cilantro stems were too thick and should not have been served on the taco; it would have taken an extra 30 seconds to pluck the leaves. My only gripe with the menu itself was that there was no carne asada. I'm sorry, carne asada is like, the evergreen of the taco world. Go to an Alberto's, or Tacos El Gordo or any taco shop in San Diego, everyone has carne asada. I wouldn't fault them for not being able to do Al Pastor, but come on y'all, carne asada is the best.
