The Director and teachers are a really sweet, caring and understanding about the value of early childhood education. One of the things I really like about the preschool is the children get time to play outside. Also, my daughter always comes home singing new songs or talking about something new she learned at school that day. Most days when I go to pick up her up, she doesn't want to leave because she's having such a good time. Love it! I know other parents whose children have attended Tot Tenders and they have nothing but good to say about it and it's been around for a long time something like I don't know 30 some years. The only problem is they always have a waiting list so it's kind of hard to get in.

All the teachers but the one with the glasses and the sweet Cuban lady seem to hate their jobs. My daughter's teacher was inherently lazy; and I caught her several times SCREAMING and cussing out my two year old. When I brought up the problems to the owner, she made a ton of excuses. We had some verbal sparring over the phone; and after I made SEVERAL reports to both the health department AND Hillsborough county, she told me to leave. I had already moved my daughter, so. If you research (which I wish I had done before) there have actually been a ton of complaints filed here over the years. It's obvious the owners are only in it for the money. They don't do a lot of projects with the kids, the food is crap, and everything is incredibly old and dirty. Any time you bring up problems, you get a ton of attitude. One time, I caught a staff member spraying bleach water next to my kid, and I asked her to stop and I got yelled at for it? So I brought it up to the owner and she said it wasn't bleach. It was labeled bleach water and I know what bleach smells like! I was told that my daughter had to wear shorts under her dresses or skirts because "the little boys in the class are curious" where TF are the teachers if the little boys have time to do that? My daughter shouldn't have to change what she wears because the teachers aren't doing their jobs. In addition, I've walked in several times and the kids were by themselves and the teacher was nowhere in sight! Stay away from this place; I wish I had never subjected my daughter to it. I hope it gets shut down.

The staff is tenured, loving, and really know how to engage the kids and genuinely care about them. Any interactions with the administration team have been very professional and pleasant. I know my daughter will be very prepared for Kindergarten after VPK! She is not even in VPK yet and knows all of her letters, sounds, numbers, is writing her name and short words, and most importantly seems like she loves to learn.

My 3 year old son has been going here for a year and I absolutely LOVE this school. I only have one…read morechild and had no idea how to potty train him. The teacher for the 2 year old class, Mrs. Pat, basically did this for me! My son can sing his ABCs, knows his shapes, knows his colors, can count to 12, has learned how to share and so much more! He didn't know any of this when he started. The facility is clean and they decorate for the holidays. The meals are included with the price, home-cooked and MORE than enough. The kids are good kids. You don't walk in to bad words, fighting or any of that. They all give my son a hug everyday when he leaves, and even the big kids are patient and friendly with him too. The school is equally diverse, which I love, so my son has learned to be friends with every kind of person! They have people come and take pictures that you can purchase with professional backgrounds, they have holiday parties and do really cool arts and crafts projects. The 3 and 4 year old kids are together, so my son is already literally learning everything from the VPK courses. Right now, he is learning to write letters! It's like getting two years of preparation before kindergarten instead of just one. When my son "officially" starts VPK next year, he will definitely be way ahead of the game. They have a big, fenced in play yard where my son loves to roam. They are so affordable that I almost didn't use them. I didn't trust the price. But they are truly exceptional and I am grateful I went with my gut. I am very protective of my little boy and went to several different daycares before I found this one. Thank goodness I did. Thank you A Little Kids Academy!

I asked to speak with the director and she stated she only knows what's happening based upon reports. (She never views the classes). I asked to visit the class to see his behavior. She stated she would have to ask the owner. I asked for at least a weekly written report so that I can have documentation. She stated she doesn't know if she can get the teacher to do that. This place has no cameras and I cannot come in to view my child. I confronted them about my request only to have the asst director yell at me and terminate my child. Better than Main Street Learning Academy, better than KinderCare, and they actually now own Bright Beginnings Day Care off of Belcher. Bright Beginning would have been my 2nd pick. The facility itself is very nice at Bright Beginnings because it is newer. However, the staff at Kiddin' Around appealed to my family and I more. The staff is amazing. My child has gone here since infancy and is now in the preschool program. The teachers are kind, competent, and caring. The staff is composed of individuals from different nationalities, genders, and backgrounds and they all are wholesome and truly KIND people. Ms. Kayla, Mr. Doug, Ms. Becky, Ms. Taryn, Ms. Noelle, and Mr. C have all been great among others. A few of the teachers retired recently, perhaps due to age and the pandemic, I'm not sure. However, the turnover rate is very low. That itself should speak volumes to anyone looking for a provider. Working with preschool children can be challenging at times and requires a lot of constant redirection that sometimes burns teachers out. Not at this school, because the teachers themselves have amazing support in the office staff should they need assistance. This is shown by the happiness in the faces of the infants, toddlers, preschool and school age children. My child has NEVER once cried or resisted going into this school, EVER, always happy to go learn and play. It is a nurturing atmosphere for the children and staff and many of the teachers are pursing higher education in a related field. No matter what time I arrive, the teacher are always engaged with the children. (pre covid because now parents are not going inside of the facility to reduce chances of transmissions). At some of these local centers the staff just sit around gossiping while the kids run wild. And it is okay to talk amongst staff when appropriate as long as the kids are well cared for and this facility does a good job of balancing it. Also, the kids do great art work and the daily reports are better and way more detailed then the surrounding facilities that may seem nicer visually, this is an older facility then some in the area but the owner take great care and it is very nice and clean on the inside. The previous owner Mary recently retired but she was AMAZING, she was there every day from sun-up to sun-down. A lot of the teachers and front off staff have been there nearly a decade or more. Prior to Covid they had great cleaning procedures and they have now exceeded that with their current Covid procedures. I would most definitely recommend this center 1,00 time over and more. Lets just do our part to continue keeping the children safe. If you or your kids are covid positive or symptomatic I say please delay your enrollment. However, I think you would be pleased with this center. Bright Beginnings would be my 2nd pick in the area if they didn't have a seat for your child, and 3rd would be Curlew Learning Center. My sons teachers were great, don't get me wrong on that…read more I just received a bill for $360 because their app failed to let me pay during the last three weeks my son was attending, and now I'm obligated to pay after I was told I didn't have to? I informed the administrative staff for three weeks about the issue and they told me I was fine. It's complete crap and I won't be paying because of an error on their behalf. Secondly, my son never wets himself at home as bad as he did at school three times over because they wouldn't take him to the bathroom regularly.. My son also came home with mysterious bruises on his legs twice, which the first time they had "no" idea how it happened. He gained some skills while at parc, but not enough to say this is a great school. I had a lot of concerns when my son brought home new behaviors that were unacceptable. I don't believe the teachers truly paid attention to the kids on the playground, and I honestly think they were a little rough with my kid. Not abusive, rough. I only recommend this school as a last resort. The billing process is terrible, and the administration at this school needs some more training. But everyone else is great! His teachers were awesome regardless of the issues I saw.
