It was our first night in Bardstown and decided to check out Toddy's. The Bardstown tourist site listed Toddy's as the recommended liquor store for finding local bottles of whiskey, as well as other types of spirits and beer. Being a whiskey enthusiast, I wanted to see what they had that my home area in Florida didn't. Selection-wise, I thought it would be better. They did have bottles of Weller Full Proof and Blanton's single barrel, but for the same prices I have seen elsewhere in the secondary market and local retail market in SFL. However, I did find a bottle of Early Times Bottled in Bond for about $26, so that was a win since I haven't seen that elsewhere. Overall, the place is ok. It's convenient due to its proximity to the center of Bardstown, and the drive-through is a plus if you're on the go. Ultimately, your experience will come down to what you're seeking. For most people, Toddy's will do the job like most liquor stores. If you're looking for a specific bourbon or rye, it's a crapshoot that you may score a find or not. read more

It's a small liquor store in Bardstown that lets you know before entering that their prices aren't for the faint of heart. I paid $162 for a bottle of Blanton's with a wax seal that was completely broken all the way around the top of the bottle.

Last year we shopped at Toddy's...bought a couple bottles of relatively cheap, $20/bottle bourbon. We were told we could only buy this particular bourbon in KY. Lo and behold my wife and I were in Aruba in Dec 2018 and found the same bourbon in Aruba. read more

I always prefer to support small, local liquor stores, but shady businesses like this place make me sick. They price gouge by overcharging on everything, including local products. Absolutely RIDICULOUS. Be cautious of their markup. Traveled to Kentucky to pick up a bottle of Parker Heritage Bourbon for my dad for Christmas in memory of my brother who passed from ALS. With just one hour to spend in Bardstown, KY on a hunt for good bourbon (disclaimer...I love malted barley/wheat/rye grain beverages: I'm a BIG beer geek, a pretty decent Scotch aficionado, and a novice Bourbon drinker), the folks at Toddy's set me straight. I told them some of the tastes that I enjoy (smoke, earthiness, peat, spice, etc.), and I ended up purchasing three Bourbons, two from Kentucky (101 Old Bardstown and Henry McKenna 10 year) and one from Tennessee (Benjamin Prichard's). I wish I would've had more time to explore this unique and special area of our country, but alas, I will have to return. Decent selection. A few not so common bottles. Anything not so common is quite literally double the retail price. Everything else was priced fairly, but there were 4-5 different bottles which I know intimately what MSRP is and they had them priced about double that. Be careful you do your research so these guys don't rip you off. read more

We spent a vacation week in Bardstown this past Christmas and shared with the person behind the counter at Toddy's, (an older woman with blond or grey hair with blue streaks,) that we were from out of state and looking to buy some Blanton's Bourbon. We knew it was not always easy to find, and asked her price and how much she had on hand. She said she had 4 bottles, and the price was $130 for each 750 ml bottle. Not knowing what to expect in the way of price, and trusting that she was being straight with us, we bought all 4 bottles. Imagine our surprise when we visited the Buffalo Trace distillery later in the week and found that their gift shop price was $60 for the same size bottle. To double check, we called a liquor store near our home back in Georgia and were told that they had a bottle and the price was $62. I'm not saying the blue-haired woman sized us up as a couple of suckers and cheated, scammed, and took advantage of us. I'd never say that. I'm just curious as to why she charged us more than twice the going price. Maybe the owner has an answer? read more

Go here and skip the ripoff distilleries, sipping rooms and restaurants. I bought 4 great Bourbons you can't find in Chicago Binny's. Open 8:30 so you can hit the road. I highly recommend it. read more
