The interior is well designed, a little tight but quite comfortable. They have a small outside covered patio that can be used almost year around. The cocktails (the main reason for coming here) are very well made and somewhat unique. The selection of spirits is good for a small place. Pros - well crafted cocktails, helpful and social staff, not too crowded, quiet enough for a conversation with your partner (or the people next to you), a nice mix of clientele with locals/visitors/younger/older all mixing well. There aren't really any cons - though 2 points that aren't exactly pros: 1. Prices are a touch high but should be expected with a small place serving high quality drinks 2. Sometimes they seem to be trying too hard. Some of the cocktails are a little overly complex One other point - there are several 1 star reviews on here mainly because they showed up with a group larger than 6 and were not allowed in. Seiberts is too small for large groups. The website clearly states no groups larger than 6 are allowed in - so if you show up with a large group you won't get in and it's your fault. Ambiance (3.5/5): Harry's New York Bar is located in a hotel, though the bar has its own entrance, too. Think of it as an elegant hotel bar. Comfortable seating. Spacious. Along with a long bar which has some bar seating as well. So why not a higher rating for their ambiance? Well, this is pretty wild but there was a rat walking around while we were there. We told the bartender about it, but he didn't seem too concerned with the situation. I sure hope rats are not frequent guests here! Service (4/5): Outside of the rat situation, our bartender did a good job. Service in Europe doesn't tend to be terribly attentive, friendly, or efficient. And in Germany, they will often kick you out right when it's closing time. Not the case here. The bartender let us stay for a good while after they closed. Which I always appreciate. They even give you some snacks to munch on with your cocktail. That was a nice touch. Food (N/A): Outside of the complimentary snacks, we had dinner prior so I was on a liquid diet. Drinks (4.5/5): You would think that Harry's New York Bar is an American bar given the name. That's what I thought initially. I was wrong. Harry was a famous bartender in the U.K. who invented several famous cocktails. So that's what you should have here. They have a solid list of craft cocktails, many of them with an interesting blend of flavors and ingredients. I was happy with mine, though you will pay a premium here since it's a hotel bar. Harry's New York Bar has locations across the world. I was happy to check out my very first one in Cologne.

After exploring the city for a good chunk of the day, we stopped by an hour or so before close. Here's the set-up. Before you go into the "ice bar area," you enjoy two drinks in a regular bar. Pretty much your typical standard cocktails, beer, or wine. After your pre-ice bar experience, it's time to bundle up. Ice Bar provides you with complimentary gloves and jacket. They then take you into the ice room which is as cold as it sounds. The gloves and jacket makes a difference. Don't wear shorts like I did. You spend 30 minutes at the bar. While you're there, you have two more alcoholic beverages. The options are more limited here as you can go with beer or their home-made house liqueur (three flavors). Served in a shot glass. I did one of each. What's really cool is that both the beer mug and the shot glass were made out of class. While you're enjoying your ice-cold beverages, you can check out the various ice sculptures and take pictures. While I hate the cold, and was definitely getting quite cold by the tail end of the experience, it's so unique that's it's definitely something I was glad I got to try out. Bucket list item crossed off. It's a bit pricey, as you're essentially paying for four drinks minimum, but worth it if you've never done it before. Something different for sure.
