They were probably the best of their kind that I've ever had. The currywurst was delicious and had just the right amount of curry in it. The schnitzel was filled with camembert cheese, cranberry sauce on the side, and a lovely fresh salad with a home made olive-oil based dressing. There were 3 of us and we were beyond full after sharing the two dishes above; the cheese filled schnitzel was sizable and very filling! If I ever am back in Cologne, I will be sure to visit this place again, and I can safely say that this was the best meal of my entire trans-Europe vacation (included Belgium, Amsterdam, and Germany) :) Thank you for the delicious food and hospitality!

I was lucky enough to see Darren Hayman play here one night in May 2009, and the music - as well as the atmosphere - was wonderful. We arrived early but it was no big deal, because I loved the vibe. The word gemütlich immediately comes to mind... The place is cozy and intimate, with good beer on tap, comfortable seating and acceptable acoustics. I haven't yet been back, although I'd love to someday. And I can say quite matter-of-factly that if I lived in the area, this would easily become a regular haunt.

Unfortunately, my piece came lukewarm at best and definitely not as juicy as if it would have been right out of the oven. The version I had was good, but not worthy of all the accolades. Other than that, we tried Metthappen (raw pork tartare), which was somewhat bland and mushy. Had to add a lot of salt and pepper for more flavor. With that said, the liverwurst and blood sausage were both excellent. In the end, I did not love the bread, but the pickle was great. Service with a smile, the servers were very kind and patient. I'm the worst when it comes to vegetables but I happily went here two nights in a row. The food is good. Not wonderful but good enough to satisfy even the strict meat eater.
