As we conclude our final week at Action Day Lincoln, I wanted to take a moment to formally express my appreciation for two amazing programs that they hosted. The first was the Multicultural Celebration on 2/19/26. I was pleased to see it organized, but I didn't think I would have time to attend. When I arrived that evening for pick up, our child was excited about trying to visit some of the wonderful stations. We only stayed for a short time, but the experience of my child getting a Passport to get stamped at the different country stations and try food and learn about each country was so positive and uplifting. I was so honored to be a part of the Action Day community beautifully representing the diversity and value that each family brings into it. The second was the Innovation Night on 3/19/26. After the experience of the Multicultural Celebration, I made an effort to ensure we had time to explore and enjoy the experience. We spent more time during this event and it was both fun and informative for the children. I could say more about why these events were so impactful, but I'll simply express that the demonstration of inclusion and innovation were so well organized that I can honestly say that they were the two best events I've attended in the almost 10 years we've been with Action Day. He was in Action Day's infant program from the time he was 5 months until he was 1, then we took a short break and now he's back as a 1.5 years old. I'm writing this review because I had a hard time finding information about how daycares handle food allergies when I was looking through reviews myself. Jamie has done so much to help us feel confident sending our son (who is severely allergic to milk and eggs) to daycare. She worked out plans to keep him safe during meal time when other toddlers are eating his allergens, and ensured staff were all trained in how to handle allergic reactions. She even visited the local fire department to inform them about the severity of his allergies and ensure they were prepared to find their way around the campus should they ever need to. Additionally, our son has a great time every day and all of his teachers have been attentive, warm, professional, and easy to communicate with! Shout out to his current teacher, Miss Maria, who takes extra care to apply lotion to him all day long and does frequent diaper changes to keep his eczema at bay.

Even though we were only there for a short time, they took the time to observe my daughter closely and gave me detailed updates at pickup about what she did during the day, how much she ate, how her nap went, and what to expect afterward. For example, they let me know when she napped earlier than usual and might get tired sooner at home, which was really helpful. I really appreciated how thoughtful and communicative the teachers were. My son, who was two years old at the time, attended this Montessori for approximately four to five…read moremonths. We enrolled him in February 2026, and during that period, he was also diagnosed with autism. Unfortunately, we had concerns about the daycare from the beginning. The facility appeared overcrowded. One large hall was divided into three open classrooms for children ages 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5. Because the classrooms were not fully separated, the children could easily move between them. During morning hours, we sometimes observed approximately 30-35 children in the hall. Based on what we saw, each class often appeared to have only one part-time teacher managing around 14 children. We were concerned about how the staff could safely supervise so many young children, so we sent our son for only half days. Our son is on the autism spectrum, but he was generally happy and not particularly aggressive. His primary challenges were speech, communication, and following directions. He also does not have significant sensitivity to sound. However, we did not feel that the teachers had sufficient training or support to meet his needs. In my opinion, even children who are not on the spectrum could struggle in an environment with overcrowded classrooms and limited staff. I do not blame the teachers or their assistants because they appeared overworked and may not have received the training and resources they needed. My main concern is with the management. We did not see enough investment in experienced staff, proper staffing levels, or training programs that could help both the teachers and the children have a more positive experience. We withdrew our son in July 2026. On few occasions, we noticed bruises, and he often seemed completely exhausted when we picked him up in the afternoon. Because he is still nonverbal, he could not explain what had happened. We also did not feel that the daycare was sufficiently transparent with us or willing to learn how to better support a child on the autism spectrum. The staff occasionally complained that he ran around the classroom and did not listen, but these were areas in which he needed guidance and support. We clearly explained that toddlers attend daycare not only for supervision, but also to learn routines, social skills, and positive behaviors. If young children already followed every instruction perfectly, parents would not need to spend thousands of dollars on childcare and early education. We expected the management to hire experienced staff and work collaboratively with parents to support each child's development. Based on our experience, we would not send our son back or recommend this daycare to our friends. There are other nearby programs that appear to be more inclusive and supportive of children on the autism spectrum and their families.

Praise, sticker charts, and time away (breaks) are used to help children learn skills or reflect on their behaviors. Children have access to the giant yard, which allows for outdoor classes, picnics, and learning about nature. I liked how the area was also mostly shaded. There are many different toys, sensory items, and games available for children to engage with daily. I am always greeted warmly by staff and can see that they truly love children and adore them as if they were their own. They capture precious photos to share with parents. I can easily communicate by phone, text, email, or through the ProCare app and receive a quick response. I have visited many sites and decided on this one because the facilities felt comfortable, modern, clean, and spacious. Their tuition is also reasonable for the area. Parking is steps to the classroom and is always available making it convenient and safe. The preschool is located inside next to a church away from any main roads and is gated. My family will miss the CAPS team very much as they are truly a gem. They provide a quality program and develop children by preparing them how to socialize and operate in structured and unstructured environments.

She embraced him with so much love and patience and built that trust with him very early on. From the first week on, we knew he was in wonderful hands and he began making friends immediately. Coming from a home-based daycare, the transition was challenging and it took him around two months to adjust. During that period, I had hoped for a little more support from the teachers to make drop-offs smoother. Communication & Feedback: One of my biggest concerns was the limited communication. Updates through the Procare app were infrequent, and direct feedback from teachers was minimal. I wasn't expecting daily notes, but even a short weekly summary about how he was doing--both socially and academically--would have been very valuable. Since the program follows a Montessori style, children are encouraged to choose their own work, which can be great for independent learners. However, for my son, who is quieter and sometimes needs encouragement, I felt he did not receive as much of a gentle nudge as he could have. Many teachers seemed overextended, which may have contributed to this. Safety & Care: There were two instances where my son returned hurt. In one of the instances it was a teacher's direct oversight. What concerned me most was the lack of proactive communication--we only learned about it after asking. For me, this was a significant gap in accountability and transparency. What We Appreciated: - Hot lunch everyday. - Very bright and clean classrooms. I liked the way all the montessori jobs are arranged around the classroom - Multi age group class - Ms Joyce is very friendly and truly has the best intentions for the kids in mind. Everyday, she wakes up so excited to go to school, all 3 of the teachers in the class are not only amazing but my daughter is so comfortable around all of them, and they let her express herself to the fullest. From the sports activites to educational to field trips everything has been so incredible here. It is organized, fun, informative and they will always keep you updated about your kids.
