This person has you rehash everything you've outlined twice previously for the firm: once during an initial 15 min call outlining your situation with a different non-lawyer and again via an extensive online questionnaire providing facts & details of your situation. We walked into the "consultation" expecting that an attorney had reviewed our paperwork previous to the appointment and the "client navigator" would share the broad stroke strategy the attorney had conceived. What we got was that neither Cayce nor an attorney had read anything I had provided previously. It was literally, "So tell me about your situation." Huh? A consultation is defined as a conference at which advice is given or views are exchanged; a meeting to discuss the treatment of a case. How can that be achieved when one party hasn't even read about the case at hand? For a law firm to be inaccurate with it's language is enormous cause for concern. Additionally, Cayce was late to the 9:00am appointment. My father opened the office door for her yet when she came into the meeting room, she lied about her delay saying she was conferring with an attorney. I guess it's true, you get what you pay for. Zero value in this offering. Save yourself some time and go to an attorney that won't bury you in "their procedure" and actually give you some insights that will help you determine if they can help your case or not.

No, they skipped all kinds of things probably because of that lack of knowledge. Their communication was terrible and whenever I tried to get even the tiniest bit of status information out of them, they were completely unresponsive or downright rude. Honest? I suppose so, but they also completely ignored all my wishes, didn't listen to what I was saying, had to make a lot of revisions and changes because they weren't interested in doing what I asked instead of using boilerplate documents I could have gotten from LegalZoom myself, and billed for work they hadn't completed while refusing to confirm whether they'd done the work or not, and if not, why they billed for it or why I couldn't get a copy. The bank is counting on you to not know your rights and they may even appear to want to work with you to help you avoid foreclosure--all the while the legal firm they've placed your foreclose with quietly marches toward an auction date. so many people end up thinking they are refinancing with the bank or resolving the issue only to get denied at the last minute and then the auction is the next week. They assume if the bank is working with you that they are not going to auction your home: wrong. banks take out foreclosure insurance and can collect on your property 2 or 3 times if they get to an auction date. its in their best interest to make you think you are safely working with them to resolve the issue and then you wont pursue legal help. Please do not fall for that. alot of homeowners ended up sadly losing their homes because they didnt know that the banks sole interest was in taking their home and then selling it at auction, collecting the foreclosure insurance and then going after you for the difference. there is no incentive for a bank to work with the homeowner to resolve any issue on your mortgage. Troy has authored a in depth book on how to avoid foreclosure and highlighted some of the tricks banks have done to get away with foreclosures. When i met with Mr. Doucet, I was astonished that he knew every person who had been involved in my foreclosure case--the judge it was going before and the legal partners who were trying to take my home when they didn't even have a deed listed to it. He had a multi tiered strategy on how to proceed to both stop the auction date and buy time on the short end to how to undo it on the long end. He is really sharp and professional and you can tell his spirit is in the fight for homeowners. This is the guy you want as your junk yard dog against the bank. He comes with a steller reputation too among other lawyers: I was referred to Troy by another lawyer who felt he would be better suited to take on the giant legal firm that had tried to auction my house multiple times.

This task was never completed, leading to the initial lawsuit. MI made an agreement and signed it merely to close the deal, then reneged on it. Subsequently, the initial lawyer, in the first case, requested a third-party inspection to avoid a "my word vs. MI" scenario. However, all discussions, as reflected in the New Judge's decision remarks, only addressed the quality of work, without mentioning the violation of a contractual obligation. 2. Your firm has had three different attorneys on this case. Initially, communication was consistent. After months of accepting my payments, your firm failed to address the prolonged duration of the case, with no follow-ups with the courts- UNTIL I called in early January to inquire about the status. At that point, you filed to determine where the case stands. When the courts provided a timeline, which was missed, your newest member handling my case, Rachel, filed a new document. Please see the email below detailing her negligence and unprofessional decision. I trusted your law firm, only to have a lawyer later tell me, "Yeah, wasn't effective to submit that." ...After giving it another two weeks, your firm did nothing but sit on my account and receive my money. I called the courts and was informed there was a glitch and they are backdated. Had your attorney(s) approached my case with passion and understanding, considering it has been ongoing for three years with over $40K spent, I would have fewer complaints about my experience with your firm and this loss. Currently, I am seeking another firm to handle my case. You are the second firm that has listened to me, agreed with me in the beginning-and then failed to include the information I requested in the narrative presented to the judge or listening officials. This portrayal presented to the judge focused solely on our "dissatisfaction with the quality of work", rather than highlighting the fact that MI rushed to sign a punch list with agreed corrections to be made, then refused to complete these corrections. After two attempts with inattentive lawyers and their legal jargon, the point was missed yet again, leaving me in a worse position than when I started.
