    The ceremony was beautiful!!!!
    Rosa L.

Let me start by saying he is the best !!! We had originally booked for 8/3/22 then on thrusday night around 845pm we decided to get married that Saturday. With less than 24hrs he was able to get the marriage license and show up at my location. Highly recommended. His vow selection and ceremony was very detailed and I'm so glad he was part of my special day. Thank you guys so much

We wanted to book a simple elopement. We are very happy we made the decision to use Reverend Steve Mistriel. We expected a short and sweet ceremony and Reverend made it feel 100% like us. He works closely with the couple to ensure all their needs are met. He made it feel very personable and we felt very comfortable. He kept in contact and was easily available to answer all of our questions. We have no regrets. We love that he is open minded when it comes to officiating for the LGBTQ community.

Amazing work. Valued our Catholic tradition and was very professional. I contacted him 3 weeks prior to the wedding and he helped make everything happen in time for the special day.

All of our guests loved the grounds, they are really the perfect setting for the weekend. Thies and Brandon, the property managers, are very cool dudes and were just super easy to work with. Cathedral City has some pretty rigid rules, but Thies told us how to set up our speakers to be loud enough for a good time without breaking any city ordinances. During our stay there, we used pretty much all of the grounds throughout the weekend. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and the dinner/reception were all held in different areas. Some of our friends played tennis in the morning, and we used the big pool and hot tub as well. The smaller pool was pretty cold as we were there in March, but heating the big pool was definitely worth it for our Saturday, post-wedding pool party. We did not have any issues with the plumbing, it was great having our friends stay with us for the weekend, and again, Thies and Brandon were excellent to work with. Highly recommend this place if you want to make your wedding a weekend affair to remember. Hopefully we can book this for our 10 and 20 year anniversaries. Thanks again.

The wedding party got to enjoy a few nights' stay in the houses of this property while the guests stayed at nearby hotels. The houses are charming with rustic furniture and comfy beds. We loved the main pool with all the inter-tubes; just what the doctor ordered the day after the wedding! The bride & groom brought in a dj, bartender and catering service they knew. I guess they had Soho Tacos catering the night of the wedding, which I love! Wish I had known. It would have probably helped me out the next morning!

Monterey Country Club: Community, Class, and Unmatched Value!…read more Joining Monterey Country Club has been one of the smartest decisions I've ever made. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're greeted by name and treated like family -- it's that rare blend of warmth, professionalism, and genuine community spirit that makes every visit feel special. A huge shoutout to Bobby and Kaitlyn Ellis, who always go above and beyond to make every day at the club an absolute pleasure, and to Juan, the Membership Sales Manager, whose kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail make him an absolute gem. This staff makes you feel not just welcome, but known -- and that's something truly special. Beyond the incredible service and the beautiful course, membership here also comes with access to the Palmer Advantage program, which is a total game-changer. It opens the door to play at country clubs across the country -- both public and private -- under the Arnold Palmer management umbrella. Most of the clubs I've visited through the program don't charge a green fee at all -- just a cart fee, typically between $15 and $32. That's an unbelievable value, and I've been taking full advantage of it, especially now during the desert's overseeding break! Monterey Country Club isn't just a place to play golf -- it's a community that feels like home. If you're even thinking about joining a club in the Coachella Valley, do yourself a favor and check out Monterey. I promise you won't be disappointed.

*Monterey is a Wonderful Place*…read more The guard gated community is beautiful and peaceful... The condos/homes are spacious, light & bright with high ceilings and beautiful views of the golf courses... The swimming pools are all nice but kinda small...and the jacuzzi spas aren't hot enough... The gym is very old & outdated in need of a major facelift and better equipment & dumbbells. I've rarely seen a gym I didn't like nor can't deal with until this one. And happy I wasn't forced to workout at this facility... The Clubhouse tho is very nice...and Letty at the front desk is so friendly & welcoming...and sweet as can be... But the star of the show is/was Dennis at the Clubhouse restaurant/bar. Friendly cool dude who know's his stuff, has extensive experience in the restaurant/bar industry, provides amazing & professional service...and he was able to keep up with me while talking about sports :) Had their Ahi Tuna for a pre dinner Appetizer and it was fantastico. The "center-cut ahi tuna" was extremely fresh...and all the flavors of the dish paired very well. They do something with the sauces that's not common -- they use hoisin sauce, instead of sweet eel sauce, and together with their spicy tuna aioli it's a perfect combination. Because IMO, most eel sauces are too sweet & sugary. Compliments to the Head Chef. We intend to comeback one day for brunch because believe it or not, their Lox & Bagel Plate is only $13...and the funny thing is, when we saw that on the menu, wifey & I discussed a return visit in the future...and when we began our conversation with Dennis, discussing their menu, he told us "you need to comeback another day for the $13 Lox & Bagel Plate" and we all had a good laugh about that. My only complaint is they close the Clubhouse restaurant/bar @5pm...and it'd be nice if they stayed open later. Because I'd most defiantly linger to watch a ballgame on one their large flatscreen tv's...and spend more money on food & drinks...and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would. But all & all...Monterey Country Club is a wonderful place, centrally located in the heart of Palm Desert, right on the borderline of Rancho Mirage.

Unfortunately, my recent visit fell far short of the standard one would reasonably expect from an establishment in this category. From the moment I arrived, the service felt disorganized and inattentive. Staff members appeared disengaged, offering little acknowledgment or direction, creating an atmosphere that felt more chaotic than welcoming. Simple requests seemed to be met with confusion or indifference, and at no point did anyone step in to provide the level of hospitality that should define a country club environment. The facilities themselves also left much to be desired. Areas that are typically considered showpieces -- such as the dining room, locker rooms, and outdoor spaces -- showed signs of neglect. Tables were not promptly cleared, chairs were left out of place, and overall cleanliness did not reflect the premium status this club claims to uphold. For the cost of membership and the reputation they promote, these oversights are not minor; they are indicators of deeper issues in management and quality control. Dining was equally underwhelming. The menu felt uninspired, and the dishes lacked both presentation and flavor. Even basic items arrived lukewarm or poorly seasoned, which suggests a lack of attention from the culinary team. For a club that should pride itself on offering an elevated dining experience, this was perhaps the most surprising disappointment of the evening. I do believe this property has tremendous potential, but my experience made it clear that significant improvements in service, training, and operational oversight are needed. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, as members and guests deserve far better.

Free to visit and you can enjoy the cactus garden and wander around the gardens. Museum and gift shop as well as cafe is on sites. But this visit, we took the tour of the Annenberg property. They do recommend you come a little early to view and enjoy the main building where the cactus garden was but we were a little behind and made it right before the tour started. The tour host 7 person per guided tours. We start off at check in and then met with our guide, Hema. At the beginning you start off on the golf carts where your guide gives you an introduction to the family and the property. The gate into the main residence is around the corner from the public property. It's amazing to see how someone turned a barren desert landscape into an oasis. The brief cart ride to main door was quite nice. A massive golf property hidden in the desert. Once you approached the main property, it's welcomed by a massive water feature. A knock on the double doors lead you into the lobby of the house. Just walking into the property, it's a true MCM oasis. To find out the property only has just the primary bedroom was insane as it was massive. Theres no picture allowed inside but outside was fine. Hema, very detailed in everything she explained was very sweet and detail oriented. Walking through the different rooms and seeing all the amazing things collected by both Walter and Leonore Annenberg was quite interesting. The office which house all of Walter's work, pictures of family, friends and political figures. The different room that's in the main house, their amazing artwork which some are the original pieces. Then you have the way they lived, very elegantly. Each room had their own unique style. The designer and architect sure had their hands full with detail designed of everything on site. The furniture, one of a kind design with amazing embroidery. Walter had an amazing collection of artwork and sculptures. Seeing them throughout the house and the way it was displayed in different room of the house was spectacular. Even the kitchen was nice. Still fully functional as it's still used for summits. The outside alone is one in a million. The massive property with many lakes that is fully stocked for fishing. The golf course which is a golfers heaven. And then you have the pool with a million dollar view of the mountains as the backdrop. Not only the main house, there's the guest house which is utilized for guest. And they're know by different color rooms. And by that, it's fully decorated in the color palette. That building also all looks out to the pool and mountain. Leonore, with her favorite color yellow also had a rose garden designed in the property. The tour lets you inside the lives of the Annenberg and the amazing lives they've lived. Housing major political figures, celebrities and the amazing parties had. The massive art collection and endless photos of everyone, it was a sight to see. This is a tour worth checking out and learning about the Annenberg. Plus, Hema our tour guide was excellent.

But everyone I interacted with genuinely seemed like they wanted us to have a good time. If it was fake, it was very good acting. From the valet to check in, amazing! Javier checked us in. 7 out of 5. Stress free. The pool area, 8 out of 5. Off the charts. Attention management: I stay at a lot of hotels and resorts.
