This is an independent franchise so I get to support a local business while still having a great selection and competitive pricing. Customer win on multiple levels. I needed to go in for an outside drainage solution before the rain hit. I went in by myself and the folks behind the counter collaborated with me to find a price-friendly solution that fit my needs and was simple to install. I never felt intimidated (unfortunately that's still a reality in some places) and would have no problem going back for my next project (and there is ALWAYS a next project...). PS - the person behind the counter (owner?) was explaining to me that they get a really great deal on paint, a white label brand of the expensive stuff at a steady ~20% off. In case that's a project YOU are ready to start, definitely check these guys out.

But I tried to get them to build a roof onto a pergola I was to build. Now I understand their apprehension, but my reason for not recommending them is they would not get back with me, I had to call them multiple times with no response. Very poor communication skills.

This was great considering I didn't live too close and I didn't want to spend a lot on getting it repaired.. I arrived kinda close to closing time and the man in charge of the repair was just about to leave... YET... he stayed to fix my lamp for me... And let me tell you... I walked around the shop ONE TIME..... and he was already finished with my repair!!!! Wow... talk about fast and reasonable service!!!!.. I was very impressed... Jennifer helped me, and it took a couple of tries, but we found the perfect replacement harp. I then brought them a little bedside lamp I had as a child. It needed some repairs. They quoted a priced and also noted a crack in one plastic piece I hadn't even noticed. They said they'd try to repair that too but if they had to source a replacement part, it might cost a bit more. I agreed. The lamp came back repaired and with a stylish metal piece to replace the broken part. It did cost a couple dollars more, but I am so pleased to have that lamp working and beautiful again. When picking up the the little lamp, I found another table lamp I liked. Their shop is jam-packed with great inventory, many styles and themes otherwise hard to find. I brought the new lamp home, but the shade didn't work in the space. I took the shade back (still in original wrapping) and they sent me home with 3 others we picked out to try. One worked beautifully, so I bought it and they even gave me a credit on the original included lampshade since I returned it. Then today I went back looking for a floor lamp for a tight space. Jennifer helped me again, patiently helping me try out a couple of options in the shop. I chose a sleek brass floor lamp with a stunning black shade. She told me if it didn't work out, I could bring it back and try the other one. It's now in its space, looking so elegant that there's no way it's being returned. This shop has become my go-to for lamp and lamp accessories!

They spent a good deal of time with me - sometimes both at once - to help me reach my decision. While I was there, several other customers came in with what appeared to be lamp repairs, and the shop also has plenty of lamps for sale as well. I ended up purchasing two small modern off-white shades for antique bedside lamps and a really cool clover-shaped tan shade for a living room floor lamp. The prices were fair and in line with what I was expecting to pay so overall I was extremely pleased with the experience and will definitely return with any future lamp-related needs.

After examining the breaker box and confirming the issue wasn't in there, the journeyman and apprentice wanted over $1,000 just to investigate the issue further in a few days (no guarantee they would find the issue or fix it). I sent them away, and reached out to Zwicker Electric instead. This master electrician came out same-day, and was able to diagnose and resolve the issue for $135.
