As a professional level barista that's been to top coffee houses across the world - from Vienna to Paris, Sydney, Seattle and all parts in between - Xcaanda is legit and competes with the best I've ever been to. From the moment you step up to the bar, it's clear they take espresso seriously -- not performatively, but with genuine technical mastery. Their setup alone tells the story. A Sanremo espresso machine anchors the bar, flanked by two Mahkong grinders and an almost comically impressive lineup of four Acaia scales. You rarely see that many even in competition training labs. Every dose, every yield, every add‑in -- even cocoa -- is weighed with intention. Consistency isn't a goal here; it's a religion. The baristas back that gear with skill. Numerous awards and training certificates line the space, and you can taste that expertise in the cup. Their espresso is clean, balanced, and confidently extracted. Milk drinks are textured with care, and their latte lineup is one of the most creative in Baja. They offer three distinct mochas, each built around Oaxacan chocolate or cacao, and each with its own flavor architecture. It's rare to see a café treat chocolate with the same respect as coffee, but Xcaanda does. Craft touches elevate the experience even further. One drink arrived crowned with a thin orange slice, caramelized to order with a hand torch -- a small flourish that signals a bar focused on sensory detail, not just beverage assembly. The menu is extensive, thoughtful, and clearly shaped by passion. If there's a limitation, it's the small selection of sweets, but that feels more like a deliberate choice than a gap. Their energy is directed toward beverage excellence, and it shows. Overall, Xcaanda is top‑tier -- one of the best cafés I've visited anywhere. Precision, creativity, and genuine craft come together in a way that makes every drink feel intentional. If you care about espresso, this is a must‑visit.
