She is one of the most unpleasant people I have ever encountered in my life. To think she is representing a business dependent upon customers is mind boggling. I am no youngster and I can tell you honestly that I have never been treated as poorly as a customer in any business as I was by that "woman". I have spent quite a bit of money on cigars at that place through the years. My wife and I go to Gettysburg a lot and sometimes we've even taken the long way home from other places we have visited just so we could stop at that cigar store. Well, they lost a customer and I'm not sure they care. Something is seriously wrong when a business who is essentially asking people to shell out their hard earned money to patronize their establishment feels that it is acceptable to treat customers the way that miserable woman does. Prices are very reasonable, especially for a brick and mortar store. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and mostly friendly (Alex, in particular, is fantastic--and even the more reserved staff members are helpful). One of the best things about visiting the Chambersburg store is the selection of handmade J.M. Boswell pipes, many of which never make it onto the website. The selection and prices seem to be much better in person and I like being able to hold a pipe before I purchase it. Great smoking lounges upstairs with comfortable places to sit and spend time with friends. Highly recommend.

I stopped in and got a Missouri meerschaum corn cob and an ounce of Christie's tobacco. It's fairly small inside, walking area is about 12 feet by 3 feet, but I doubt it ever really gets crowded. You can tell the place doesn't move too much stock as there is a fair amount of dust everywhere. Don't know if the guy behind the counter was the owner or not, but he didn't seem terribly interested or enthused about having to help me. After all, I wasn't buying one of Christie's world famous hand carved pipes, so I wasn't worth the trouble of being nice to. The guy really came across as though I wasn't important enough to give real service to, so I deduct major points here. Products range from $5 corn cobs to god only knows, with some basic meerschsums priced at a staggering $95. Tons of strange brand cigarette tobacco and Christie's own blended pipe tobacco. Everything is so-so in terms of quality and service. I'm close, in waynesboro in fact, but ill pass next time and hit Boswells in chambersburg. Not a bad place if you something NOW. But a terrible place if you are looking for quality.

I always have a fun time when I come to the Tobacco Company!
