Kole was an amazing host for our first stop into this cigar store/lounge. He is 41 and has worked there for 19 years. Can we say enthusiastic and knowledgable?!! Yes! Kole designed the humidor and it was large, well lit, and well organized by brand. He told us about who rolled the sticks, about how one company bused in its workers (Dominican Republic) and had three doctors on staff. How one expensive stick from that company was rolled by only one person and they rolled something like 50 a day vs. say 120 a day for an average cigar. He was explaining another cigar ($1,000 a box) had 11 different flavors as you smoked through it. About what was aged in what kind of wood. My mind spinning and I wanted to try a $35 cigar and I don't even smoke cigars! I like to learn and am happy to support my boyfriend in his hobby, so I was happy Kole took the time to give us a tour. I'm no expert on price, but I know my boyfriend typically pays $12 a stick and there were plenty at and below this range as well as many much (and MUCH MUCH) higher. As for the lounge part, it was A) Well ventilated. So important, and B) Well designed. I mean four separately designed areas, one of which was made to look like a church with authentic light fixtures obtained from a local church, don't cha know! Padded panels on the walls. (Hard to explain, you'll have to come look at them.) Cigar logo brand embroidered $1,000 a chair stadium chairs to lounge in. The whole store can house 80 people comfortably. High top tables in the bright, sunny front of the store; dining room table in the back room (church room) with tons of comfy chairs throughout. Free coffee, soft drinks to purchase, non gendered bathrooms. Some enthusiasts even brought their own lawn chairs and tail gated in the parking lot. Stop in and try it! read more

If you want to PAY MORE for cigars, Tobacco Grove has you covered. I've been smoking cigars for 25+ years and have been to cigar stores all over the metro. Tobacco Grove has a good selection, but they average 2.00+ per stick higher than any cigar store I've been to in Ramsey, Coon Rapids, Anoka, Blaine, Fridley, or Brooklyn Park. They do have a room where people can sit around and play games, but it's not worth the prices. read more

I've visited many fine cigar shops in the midwest, Florida, and elsewhere as I've traveled around for work and fun. I would say that this is quite possibly the best cigar shop in the country. Tobacco Grove has a great selection w/ Padron, Davidoff, etc. The people are great to be around and very helpful when picking out a stick to smoke. Came here with my girlfriend to buy a cigars since we are from out of town. From the time we entered, everybody was staring at us as if we didn't belong (we are ethnically diverse). Entering the humidor the selection was half stocked and the staff immediately came to address us, speaking extremely rudely and asked us for our ID's. My girl shows her ID being 21 and as I'm pulling out my own the staff member tells us "you guys gotta roll" kicking us out. Never have felt this discriminated against. Cigars have always felt like a very precious way of socializing with others, however that wasn't the case here. Absolutely disgusting. Somewhat of a nice place but think twice if you look different, unless you enjoy being discriminated against. read more

Fantastic selection of the highest quality cigars I have seen in any of the metro area cigar shops. I was looking for a really stellar cigar that would shock my cigar aficionado friend who is getting married this weekend, and they didn't disappoint. Complete with an extremely knowledgeable staff (Rick was my sales consultant - calling him a typical salesman would be selling him short) who was able to explain the back stories and reasons why one cigar may be higher priced than another. I ended up with a truly breath taking 4-cigar box collection that is sure to amaze him. I rated it as $$$ (Pricey) because thats what I was looking for... but in actuality they have a very full range of prices from inexpensive to pricey. read more

This is 2017 pushing 2018 and I think that the service and the shop attendees were behaving in a chauvinistic manner. However, rather than shun them, I am willing to give them another chance and I suggest that other women do the same. Perhaps we can help them get over this prehistoric at attitude. The following is my experience: I was on the way to Ottertail to visit some friends, one of which smokes cigars. I wanted to be able to share a cigar experience with my friends. So I walked into the tobacco shop, only men visible looking at me like I'm an alien? Someone pipes up to say we don't sell cigarettes. This sounds to me like they are saying, "you're in the wrong place." I wonder how they would've responded if my friend traveling with me and I had come inside to smoke our cigars like they were doing. It appeared to be part of the service. Anyway I answer, i'm not interested in cigarettes but I would like clove cigars. One of the service people said they had some behind the counter so he pulls out two packages, a cherry and black. I like them both and so I said Yes, that's what I want. He responded which one? I responded both. While checking out he offers me one tiny pack of matches not holding enough for even one of the packages I bought, but I don't know that till I get out to the car. Disappointed. I really do not consider that good customer service... At all. After all the matches are supposed to be good for advertising. This is the best cigar shop in the Twin Cities bar none. They have an outstanding selection in all price ranges and the lounges are great! I especially like the Rocky Patel lounge with its wall of candles and comfy leather chairs. The staff is extremely knowledgable and helped me find both a stick to smoke that day, and something special for a dinner later the following week. It took a few minutes to get there (about 15+ minutes from downtown Minneapolis,) but it was worth the drive. read more

Wow, what a surprise! A little slice of Miami in the middle of frigid Maple Grove. I walked in early on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. The only thing more surprising than the crowd was the quality of selection. A large, easy to get around humidor filled with top quality product. The best part of going to Tobacco Grove though is the people. I sat down on at the bar and started chopping it up with Mark, the guy that works there, and this amazing character who met Elvis, Jimmy Hendrix, and worked with Prince. We were yapping it up like old pals. I was amazed and will be going back often. Tobacco Grove deserves six stars. read more

I think the best part about this place is that it's the best of the best in terms of a lounge where you can spend time with good folks and enjoy your smoke. The staff is pretty incredible. Tobacco Grove has a great facility with lots of space, TVs, and tables. They'll let you go there to catch up on your work while enjoying a stogie. The humidor is one of the largest I've ever encountered and its filled with a great selection, of course. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable to boot. You can even smoke in the bathroom, which is decorated with ashtrays! What's not to love? read more
