I promised the our waitress two months ago I would write this review, 5 star ribs and 5 star…read moreservice. Dined inside one day and on the patio a few days later. While her name escapes me,we had two of the best diners in Salerno - breaking from the everyday pasta - and it was FANTASTIC. Thank you for some of the best ribs of my life. The meat fell off the bones, the flavor unmatched, and the service attentive yet not burdensome - it as if she knew me my entire life. Also posting to Tripadvisor. Caio!

We order Dogfish Head DNA and John Bull Classic. It is quite an impressive facility, very large and sprawling on the inside, with a lot of money spent on presenting a vintage pub. Servers that day could all speak fair English, and were very poor at their job that day. Never asked about more drinks when our glass was empty. Actually served our appetizer to the wrong table and since the never check back, they didn't notice until I asked about it. Menu had Fish and Chips with either cod or fresh fish of the day, which they said was...cod. When it arrived it appeared to be a fairly typical plate, but living in the area we knew to be careful. Each of our first bites revealed a surprising amount bones, which we don't expect in restaurant served fried fish cuts. We tolerated it until, in my first piece, I further came across the actual vertebrae of the fish. 2 of them the size of finger knuckle. I brought the waiter over to explain, his response was to blame the cut of the fish, we said we were finished, and left. Only one visit can't really account for the real trend of a place's service, and they must have some success base on their appearance. An emotional rating would be 1-star or less. Trying to look at the big picture, we give it 2.

This restaurant is located in a very nice spot along the water in old town Gaeta. You will probably…read moresmell it before you can see it. There are a couple tables directly outside the restaurant, a couple tables around the corner from the restaurant outside, and a couple tables inside around the corner after that. The inside seating is not great and does not have a lot of airflow but the outdoor seating is great. The menu itself is a lot of fried food as the name would suggest. The fried food isn't very greasy though, it's light and a very nice appetizer. I had calamari and the zucchini flower. The calamari was pricey even for the area at 10€ and did not come with a lot. The zucchini flower was good and fun to try because we haven't had it before. They also had a small chalkboard with a daily special which we tried, linguini with clams and we also got fried pizza. The fried pizza was just ricotta and salami, no tomato. The outside was perfectly crispy but I think it needed something else inside like tomato. The linguini was great, there were a lot of clams and the pasta and olive oil were delicious. I probably wouldn't come here again for a meal, only appetizers. Better for lunch than for dinner.

The fried calamari comes in a paper role and is enough for one person or if you are getting other things you could share it. The staff is very friendly and super attentive. It's a casual place to stop and have a nice lunch by the sea. There's a nice little patio in the courtyard next to the restaurant where you can sit, drink your beer and eat your fried pizza, octopus salad or whatever else you find tempting. It's all good.
