This organization provides a number of services to the French language community in Edmonton. I…read morecan't comment on their social events, since I haven't attended any of them, but I have taken several sessions of their language classes. In order to register for a class, you have to complete a placement test. I think they might let you do that online now, but when I did it I had to go to their old location by Campus St Jean, which was kind of inconvenient. I took 4 sessions of classes, starting from the very beginner level. The classes were small... 3-6 students, and our instructor was awesome. The pace of the class can vary, depending on how much time you need on a particular section. At the end of the 4th session, we were prepared to write the DELF A1 exam (if we wanted to). The cost of the classes is on the lower end of what I've seen for language classes in Edmonton, and they sell you the books in your first session that you will use for the rest of the lessons. You can also get a discount for being a student, registering in advance, or for multiple students in the same household. Overall, I was happy with the classes I took, and this is where I'd go if I decided to take French classes again in the future.

The Edmonton Public Schools Archives and Museum offers a great space and educational options for…read moreclasses wanting to use the great programs they offer. Not only do they have rooms that focus on different eras in the history of Edmonton, but they are hands on opportunities to engage in old-fashioned things such as clothing washing, etc. I like the fact that if you wanted to do research on Edmonton Public Schools, that you could do that here as well. This building is gorgeous and offers some great event rental space if you want to use it. Finally the park is lovely and will eventually include a playground. Currently it is a great spot to sit and read. I'll definitely return here: it is a wonderful venue and a great space.

Today we finished our English class and enjoyed the test…read more We had a wonderful and enjoyable time at the English Training Center and we really enjoyed the all the lessons improving and reaching our language goals. I must say that we are so fortunate to have such a great teacher like Claudia. She is so kind and helpful all the time and I am very grateful for your kind support too. I am very happy to announce that your school is amazing and I can't complaint about anything. I am very happy and proud to be one of your student at the English Training Center. I am planning to come and join you in March -April course. Thank you again for your kind support for my English language learning journey. It really means a lot to me. Happy Holidays...! Very good place to find, even when I first arrived at this location, I ran into the door of the…read morelearning center directly from the door of the bus. The center is on the second floor and has a large sunny classroom to provide a pleasant learning space. The teacher is very friendly and always offers as many practical opportunities as possible. This is very useful in the IELTS test. The course is very compact and the daily courses are done in a tight and efficient rhythm. Don't feel particularly frustrated If you don't fully master the knowledge of the day, homework will help you further understand and master the skills of the IELTS test. I searched for this institution through Google comments, and I must admit that this learning center has a good reputation. Although there are very few one-star reviews, please use your critical thinking to look at the commentator's commentary. If there are nearly 70% of one-star reviews given to different businesses, is it also a strange behavior? It is highly recommended as a language learning place for studying, working or immigrating.

I regularly attended Taoist Tai Chi sessions in Calgary years ago, and was looking to return to my…read morepractice. Not only is Tai Chi excellent exercise, improves circulation, it has so many other health benefits as well. What I think I enjoy most is the calming of the mind, although I find it contributes a great deal to my balance and stability. No, I'm not elderly...yet, but everyone, able bodied or not, can benefit with the practice of Tai Chi. There are beginner/refresher classes starting monthly at locations around Edmonton, and they are warm, welcoming and the instructors are versed in Master Moy's teachings. On the whole, attendees range in age from 18-100. Young children. Well, I attended a session with two younger (8-12 yrs old?) children, (energetic, running around, playing tag, bored and unmanaged by their parent) and found my experience wasn't as enjoyable (I'm not a fan of small humans). Your mileage may vary. I would recommend visiting, if only for one class to experience what Taoist Tai Chi can offer.

Life's Healing Choices is a course offered by Beulah Alliance Church. The purpose of the course is…read moreto help people deal with their hurts, hang ups, and habits. This is an eight week course and I have to say, I wish was longer. This course is amazing! Anyone who has ever been hurt by someone, been the one who hurt someone, or is dealing with a bad habit or addiction should take this course. A DVD teaching by Rick Warren (Author of The Purpose Driven Life) starts off each session. The workbook that comes with the course has a few blanks to fill in while he talks and highlights the key points of the message. Everyone then separates into gender-specific groups (about 6 people, same groups for the whole 8 weeks) to talk about everything. There are some questions suggested but it's really just a time to get stuff out, ask questions and support each other. It's a great time. It's very freeing. I found that this course has helped me in many ways. It has helped me to refocus my life in the direction I want to go, helped me deal with some past hurts and ask forgiveness of those I've hurt in the past. Whether you think you should take this course or not, you should. You don't have to have serious, life-altering problems to benefit from it. I didn't. I had a few little things that I wanted to address and I came out of it with so much more than I ever expected. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
