I really wish I didn't have to write this review, especially about a business that's supposed to be…read morepart of one of the most special days of your life. I hired Elegant Event Entertainment for my wedding scheduled for September 12, 2025. I paid them in full -- $3,190 -- back in March. Sadly, the wedding was canceled due to very personal reasons. It was a painful decision. While the company seemed understanding at first, things quickly turned when I asked for a refund. I wasn't even asking for the full amount -- I was willing to forfeit the $1,000 deposit. I just wanted the remaining balance returned for services that were never provided. After weeks of emails and back-and-forth with Chris Mortillano, I only received $1,600 back. He claimed the remaining $590 was spent on a photobooth -- something I never authorized, never used, and never agreed to pay for in advance. And after that, he stopped replying to me altogether. It's hard enough going through a canceled wedding. To then be ignored and shortchanged by someone you trusted to be part of that day just adds insult to injury. It wasn't just about the money -- it was about doing what's right. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here. Please think twice before booking with this company. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I did. *** Update only minutes after I submitted my review was, I refunded the money I was owed after emailing and fighting for weeks! No one should have to fight like this from a company! Be cautious when booking!

READ IF HIRING FOR A LARGE EVENT…read more I don't like to write poor reviews for businesses online. However, I have repeatedly asked FunFlicks to contact me after our event. Even after I said I would post my letter as a review online they still declined to reply. Here is the letter I wrote that never received a response: I am sorry to have to write and say I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the production Friday night. I expected so much more from a professional company. I have already had to issue two refunds for the poor quality projection for the cost of the event. Here are the issues with the production that we had: 1. The screen was very loose. I understand that it was a bit windy and there is nothing to be done with that, but if you sat to the sides of the screen there were large wrinkles distorting the image. The wrinkles were there before the wind picked up, and when the wind did pick up having the screen loose increased the billowing effect. 2. The screen size we ordered may have been fine for our crowd of 1,000 people, but the projection was only projected on roughly 2/3 of the screen (see attached image). This made the captions on the films very difficult to read. If the distance to the projector that the screen was set up at was not far enough away to fill the screen, your team should have known that before setting up. There was ample space on the field to gain as much distance as needed. 3. The projector used was not strong enough for the size screen used, and especially not strong enough for rear projection. The image was not as vivid or bright as expected, also impairing the visual. I am assuming this also may be why we couldn't fill the screen also? I know rear projection decreases brightness by 20%, but this should have been taken into account. 4. The sound was terrible on multiple levels. First, with the microphone only coming out one speaker, no one could hear anything people were saying through the mic past the front rows. Also, that speaker had to be turned up to full volume each time the mic was plugged in, then it would get left there causing distortion in the sound during the films until it was adjusted again. 5. Also, the set up of the mic was absurd. To have to unplug the sound system and plug in the microphone running back and forth between the speaker and the table each time to switch between mic and movie sound was not a professional way of setting that up. It created long delays between the speaking and the start of the films, as well as films ending and the MC speaking to get the crowd's attention again. This was unacceptable. 6. The speakers were much too low in height. They need to be on risers for a crowd that size. With them that low the front of the crowd gets blasted while people in the back can barely hear. People in the front were holding their ears in the front when blasted with the base of the sound. 7. I believe we had spoken about putting speakers down the length of the field and you assured me the system you had could be heard by everyone. If you were sitting in back, the sound was so quiet you had to strain to hear - while the people in the front were getting blasted - both because it had to be loud enough for the back and because the speakers were low. For a crowd that size, there should absolutely be speakers at a midpoint at least. AND the microphone should tie into them so people talking on it can be heard throughout the venue. 8. I believe I mentioned above that the quality of the sound itself was poor with distortion on some of the voices and music during the films, likely the speakers did not have enough power to be turned up that loud. Besides, the equalization was as if it was subwoofer/bass only. People in the front rows were complaining about the vibrations in the sound. The mix was abysmal in terms of the bass. 9. There needs to be a sound person who controls the sound for each of the films and adjusts the mix on the field. Running out onto the field to listen for a minute, and then running back to adjust the sound and then just staying in the back during the films is not a professional way to run sound on a production this large. 10. The generator should be further away. It was quite loud to be in the area of the screen. I was so impressed with your professionalism and apparent knowledge in the beginning of our negotiations that I felt comfortable leaving this event up to you as the professional. In the end I was very disappointed with the result. It has been topic of conversation with everyone about the show - why the picture was small, why they couldn't hear me speaking, why were there such wrinkles in the screen, why they couldn't hear in the back. It is a conversation I feel I should not have had to have at all hiring a company such as yours that specializes in outdoor films like this. I would appreciate your response. This is an annual event and I need to have a company that I can trust and work with into the future.
