When I asked if it could be painted, it would need extra time and extra money. I decided just to get the part itself, and I agreed to pick it up this week. When I arrived, I saw the front entrance said "parts" with an arrow pointing to the back. I drove around the entire building, until I was at the next dealership. Eventually, I had to drive around the entire building again (narrow driveways by the way), and park inside the services tunnel. As one technician approached me with a friendly smile and attitude, I politely said I'm just here for parts. He changed his demeanor, asked me to follow him, and pointed to me the direction, saying it is down the hall into the right, and then left me. Didn't bother asking for my name, do a warm hand-off to the next department, what I was here for, or any additional services I may need. When I got to the Parts department, I identified my name and they found my parts I needed. I asked if someone could help me to install them; the Parts department said I would have to ask service because that's not offered (meaning the prior person who spoke to me on the phone either lied, or this representative today did not see notes that I requested a simple snap-on installation). While waiting to pay for my parts (which required me to go to Services department), nobody bothered making eye contact with me or saying hello or asking if I've been helped yet. After standing around for 10 minutes, one of the cashiers finally looked up, made eye contact with me, and said if I was ready to cash out he can help me. I didn't bother asking for installation, since this experience already made me disappointed. I paid for my parts appropriately without hassle, and then left. While still in the services tunnel, I took my time to do the snap-on installation, just to make sure the parts would fit. During the six minutes I took to put the parts on, again nobody bothered to look my way or ask if I needed help. After snapping the parts into place, I took off and carried on with my day. As someone who works in customer service as well, I was disappointed. The lack of communication, the poor signage, the lack of empathy, and the lack of consideration for someone just getting parts really made me upset. I'm open-minded to give them another chance later on, but next time, I will probably go back to my own dealership where I bought my vehicle originally.

After inspecting my vehicle, I was presented with an estimate of approximately $4,500 in repairs, not including the cost of replacing all four tires. The estimate didn't seem right to me, so I declined the repairs and went up to pick up my car. I watched the technicians pull my vehicle out of the garage following the oil change, paid my bill, and drove about 30 miles directly to my regular mechanic for a second opinion. I'm incredibly glad I did. After a thorough inspection, my mechanic determined that the extensive repairs recommended by Neighborhood Car Care - Elma were not needed. The only repair my vehicle actually needed was a new set of tires because of the damaged sidewall. Even more concerning, he found blowback oil from an improperly installed oil filter upon lifting the car to do an inspection when I arrived. He explained that the oil filter and O-ring had not been installed correctly during the oil change that had just been completed. He corrected the issue, and I was fortunate he caught it when he did. Left uncorrected, it could have resulted in a catastrophic engine failure. I called Neighborhood Car Care - Elma immediately and explained what my mechanic had found. They apologized and stated they would refund the cost of the oil change. Between the approximately $4,500 repair estimate (before tires) for repairs that my mechanic determined were unnecessary and an improperly installed oil filter on a routine oil change, I have no confidence in the quality of the work performed. A routine oil change should be just that--routine. Based on my experience, I believe it's better to steer clear.

A while back, the battery for my clicker to lock and unlock my door died, so I was manually locking and unlocking my doors the old school way, no big deal. But, recently, I had an issue with the manual lock where it would no longer unlock with the key. I needed to call roadside assistance to get in my car. That same day, I booked an appointment at West Herr Toyota in Williamsville for the following week. (The event happened on a Friday, and I got a Tuesday appointment!) I went online and they had an appointment that was after work hours that fit perfectly into my schedule. I arrived early to my appointment and Doug started on my car immediately. Timing here is important... I pulled up at 6:33pm for my 6:40pm appointment. My car was done and I was cashed out by 6:41pm!!! Now, of course not every appointment for your car is going to be as seamless as this, but Doug knew what he was doing! He fixed my door lock and put new batteries in my clicker and it was only $8.65 for the service and only 8 minutes of my evening. I was thoroughly impressed with the the friendly service, timeliness and cost. The woman who checked me in for my appointment was kind and the woman who cashed me out was equally as sweet.
