Hello. I am John. I am a very amateur painter. It's been six hours since I last dabbed paint on…read morecanvas....(there, I said it) If one has a art/craft hobby to feed, one might do far worse than shopping for supplies or ideas than shopping at Hobby Lobby. They keep a vast selection of seasonal items, as well as a nice variety of art and craft supplies, often on sale and covering various price points. Their employees never seem to mind answering questions or helping me locate something, which is a BIG deal in a store with a footprint as large as this location. Even when the checkout lanes are busy, the register people take a moment to make you feel welcome. Yes, I understand that Hobby Lobby isn't 'local' and their corporate stance on certain issues is very inclusive. But the way I see it, is it's their business, and if I didn't like their policies, I can always drive an additional 5 miles over bad roads, pay more, and have a narrow selection choice for my supplies. I figure that every one of those nice people working at H Lobby ARE local, just like me. I like that I can bring my well-mannered dog inside with me, too! That gives me plenty of time to peruse the isles in order to find exactly what it is I'm looking for, or to find something that I didn't know I needed. And Puppo enjoys carefully sniffing all the exotic items while I shop. There's plenty of parking, and space in front for loading bulky items. Plenty of Handicap parking, too! I may be a rank amateur, but Hobby Lobby treats me as though I am a pro!

A month or so later I figured I'd have to try their coffee if their hot chocolate was so good. I was hooked. I became somewhat close with the owner and one other worker there since I visited so often. Sadly, I can't remember her name now but I asked her if she has any drink suggestions and she put me on their rose syrup which I now get with their lattes almost everytime I go. I asked her again another time for any suggestions and she made me my first matcha. I have to say my second favorite place purely for nostalgic reasons. The inside is a tad millennial but I love how there seems to be plants in every corner and the out door seating in the back is just the cutest tucked away spot as well. The art market was a rather fun place to stumble upon. It's not just an art gallery, but an actual art co op, so the people you are buying art from art actually the artists (so be careful what you say!). The people working here were super nice, and some of the art was gooorgeous. They not only have paintings, but lots of photography, sculptures (one artist seems to have a particularly odd penchant for vegetable steamers), jewelry, and clothing. The ceramics and jewelry were pretty reasonably priced. Some of the artwork was reasonable, and some both my husband and I both agreed was waaaay overpriced. I imagine since the artists determine the price for their own artwork. There was one painting which I'm now wishing I had bought. Maybe if we have a little extra money next month I'll call and see if it's still there. In any case, we did buy a ceramic vase, which we are now housing our lucky bamboo. Overall, I really liked this little art co cop, and I would gladly go back.
