Garbage. I bought 25 bare root purple coneflowers for $59.99. I have attached pictures of the box of dirt I received. It appears to be seedlings in a partial flat of potting soil. The plastic in the pictures is a bag that was cut in half and the flat was shoved in the bag. So basically, I paid $59.99 for a box of loose dirt and some seedlings. The pictures on their website and that they emailed to me representing how my "bare roots" would look are a clear misrepresentation of the product. This is clearly a bait and switch. read more

Honest Review of TN Nursery In January, I placed an order for 150 pine trees, along with their buy-one-get-one-free deal on pecan and walnut trees. I was really excited about this order, especially since I'm working on planting on my property. When March came around and my order was supposed to arrive, I hadn't heard anything. I reached out by email asking for an update, and instead of responding, they just shipped part of my order. The only reason I even knew was because I have a UPS account and could track it myself. The first shipment (my pine trees) did arrive via UPS with the 2-day shipping I paid for, and that part went smoothly. However, my fruit trees (pecan and walnut) were completely missing. I emailed them again asking where the rest of my order was. Once again, no real response--just a shipment notification. This time, instead of using the UPS 2-day shipping I paid for, they sent my trees through USPS, which is taking about 8 days. That's a huge difference, especially for live plants, and honestly it feels very intentional. To make things worse, I was also shorted 15 pine trees out of the 150 I ordered. I didn't initially report it because I had them sitting in water for a few days while waiting for help to plant, and I didn't notice right away. But since I was already dealing with missing items, I brought it up when I called. I was told it was "too late" to report it and there was nothing they could do. There was no effort to help or make it right. Customer service overall has been very disappointing. Responses either didn't address my concerns or didn't come at all. At one point, they even told me to do a "scratch test" on the trees--which had nothing to do with the issue I was asking about. When I questioned the 8-day shipping, they responded by saying their trees are packed to last 15 days, instead of addressing why I didn't receive the shipping service I paid for. At this point, my remaining trees still haven't arrived, and I honestly don't feel confident about their condition when they do. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I do NOT recommend this company. On the other hand, I've had a great experience with Fast Growing Trees--their customer service and quality have been excellent, and I would recommend them instead. read more

Do not buy from this company. I purchased two mimosa trees and after months of them showing no growth what so ever I contacted the company and was told there was nothing they could do because I did not purchase the extra guarantee-- on something that should have been guaranteed in the first place. Then after reading a well deserved bad review I posted, one of the owners of TN Nursery wanted me to contact them so they could make this right (in their exact words) and after countess e-mails back and forth claiming they somehow can't place me with my order, not with my name, address, two different e-mails; yet when I first contacted them they had no problem assessing from all that information that i had no recourse because I had not purchased the extended warranty. Terrible bare root plants and trees, and even worse customer service. I cancelled an order in October 2025, received confirmation IN WRITING that they would cancel and refund my order, less a 5% processing charge which I willingly agreed to...to then receive only a partial refund, and a portion of the order still shipped. When I received the notification of shipment, I checked the refund amount and found it was short, so I reached out to their customer service, forwarding the confirmation I had received from their company that they would cancel. Their response was "xyz employee doesn't work here anymore, and your order already shipped. The refund will not be issued." After a few back-and-forth exchanges I decided to write it off, but feel compelled to let others know that their rating on here is NOT indicative of the service, quality of product or integrity as a business. On top of all of that, one of the plants showed up snapped in half, anf their last response to me said I could return the plants, but I would have to cover the shipping and if they were dead on arrival they would not be refunding me. I ordered cone flowers second week of March and requested April delivery. Got a notice April that the order could not be filled until the drought conditions were over. I notified them that if the order could not be filled by May 1st , I would like to cancel the order. Received no response. Called May 1st and was told they will be able to fill the order and expedite shipment. The plants I received were tiny bare roots with no green growth. Three of the four maybe salvageable the one that was shipped solo was completely rotten. Photo attached. I think the company shouldn't be shipping immature bare root plants. Bought 4 trees, Crepe Myrtle and Weeping Cherry, in December, they came to me as bareroot, which was understood. I soaked them for 2 hours per their instructions, then planted them. It is now April and none of the trees have started to bud or shown any sign of life. I did the scratch test to see if the cambium layer is still green, all four were brown. I had these trees of 4 months, and they only have a 24-hour guarantee on their trees! Twenty-four hours!?!?! They should tell us to do the scratch test right away then, what does 24 hours tell us about any tree we think is healthy and thriving, from a supposed good company. Buyer beware. While shopping for some trees to plant in my garden, I got a Google ad popup with TN nursery, and because the prices seemed so reasonable, I placed the BOGO order, thinking I'm supporting a local nursery while also in TN. I only checked after I submitted the order to check the online reviews, and I was horrified that I had made a mistake. I contacted them in exactly 24 minutes to try to cancel the order, and the CS responded that they are unable to make changes to orders. I said they haven't even shipped or finished processing the order and pressed for cancelling, then the CS claimed she has "let management know about your request to cancel," but I never heard back. The shipped "trees" or sticks that were chopped both top and bottom had no major root mass, but some fibrous strands on the sticks with no branches. They send them bunched up in a clear plastic bag with some wet shredded paper. None of these made it. When I contacted them, the CS responded "I am sorry to hear that. Since you did not purchase the extended warranty we are not able to file a claim on this order. You can perform a scratch test to verify but we are not able to file a claim. As stated online we ship bare root dormant trees and plants. When you received your order you had 24 hours to reach out and let us know if something was wrong with the order, we have no correspondence with you regarding this." I don't know how this company is continuing to operate online, scamming people out of money. A fresh-cut stick will show green bark within 24 hours, while it's obviously doomed, just as in cut flowers. A freshly cut branch can still show green cadmium for weeks or even months, depending on species, while biologically not viable, so a scratch test within 24 hours tells you almost nothing. This company is absolutely terrible, and shifts all risk to customers. Please DO NOT order from TN Nursery! read more

In November 2025. TN Nursery told me I wouldn't get my order until more than 3 weeks after I placed it which would not allow me to plant the in 2025. Then agreed to send my order in 2026 and I let them know that they earliest I could receive it was 4/15/26. I received an email letting me know they were shipping my order 3/16/26. I called them and told them this wouldn't work as I can't plant until 4/15 at the earliest. They effectively told me tough luck, they can't stop the shipment. Horrid customer service. read more

This is a fraudulent outfit disguised as a reputable nursery. We ordered 10 "Red Rooster" crape myrtles in November 2024. All trees were delivered in December and planted. Fast forward to July 2025 when the first one finally blooms and .....PURPLE! I emailed their customer service asking what we could do to resolve this. Wasn't looking for my money back. Really, I just want my red trees so I was hoping they'd send a new batch without any friction. To my disbelief....ultimately I was blamed for not typing in "no subs" during checkout. Apparently hidden somewhere on their website it says they reserve the right to send any color they want if they run out of the color you actually ordered! WHAT!?!? I've copied/pasted the entire email correspondence without any changes (except removing my personal info). Read if you must. But don't ever buy from these people. Fraudsters. I order online from about 6 places. the plants from TN Nursery arrived and some were ok but most looked dormant which is expected. however, after 10 days in the ground. 4 were still dormant and when I carefully dug them up, no change from their original condition. when I reached out, i was told it would likely not be until next spring that they would show growth. the warranty is for 24 hours after plant arrival. if I had known that, all the plants would have be considered dead. terrible warranty, I will not order from them again. read more

I ordered 46 plants in February. I expected small starter plants. What I received were roots and some were so small and tattered that I couldn't see what end had the root. I was very disappointed and spent an exhausting day planting them, following the instructions that I was sent. After not seeing ANYTHING sprout, I contacted them and was told that it was too soon to see anything. Well, here it is the end of April and I've seen a little growth on TWO of them. I contacted them once again and was basically told too bad, so sad but I had not "purchased" a warranty for them. WHAT??!! UNBELIEVABLE! What a rip off...almost $200 down the drain! I was even willing to overlook the fact that I had to put over an inch and a half between each clump, and I just asked them to send me 4 extra square feet to fill in the space that didn't have enough. Mid-March 2025, I ordered 15 bare-root plants totaling $53.07. They arrived the first week in April. I followed instructions by soaking and planting in my garden beds. I live in Texas. In late fall, and spring plants like what I ordered (rudbeckia, liatra, and snakeroot)usually grow. I contacted TN nursery; Felicia assured me that most plants come up in Spring. Spring hits our neck of Texas mid-February. First week of March 2025, still no plants. I contacted TN Nursery and Serenity said to send her pictures of the dead roots. I found a few roots, but they weren't the correct roots, according to Serenity. I dug everywhere I planted. No soil had been removed; garden soil, compost and mulch had been added. I don't know if the roots broke down. I was told to give the roots more time to grow. I'm almost at the warranty one-year limit, and it looks like I spent $53.07 for roots that won't grow. This may not be a typical experience, but this was mine. I have ordered bare-root plants from other companies over the years, but I have never had an issue with getting them to grow, or getting replacements for bad ones, like I've had with TN Nursery. People are better off buying seeds or going to local nurseries. read more

My experience with this nursery has been extremely poor. I placed an order on October 15th with an initial delivery date of October 23rd. On October 19th, I received an email offering expedited shipping (2-3 days) in exchange for leaving a positive review. This offer implies they had the stock and ability to ship immediately in October. However, the original delivery date of October 23 was missed. When I contacted customer service multiple times, I only received general responses. They then informed me they are now shipping in November but refuse to give any concrete date. I asked to cancel my order due to the likelihood that it was too cold to plant by the time it arrived. Despite their contradictory and shifting timelines, they have repeatedly refused to cancel my order. This company makes misleading offers to pressure customers into writing good reviews, then fails to fulfill the order and locks you into a lengthy, unscheduled delay. Funny - I made a negative comment about them on FB and now they have blocked me! I received my four "3 to 4 foot" $155 paw paw "trees." Underwhelmed doesn't begin to describe my disappointment with the twigs I received. Doubtful they will winter despite my efforts to plant them perfectly. Terrible product and no support. We ordered water lilies and got a couple of small black lumps. I called the company about what we received, and they said that was normal, even though the product page shows you will receive healthy rooted bulbs. A few weeks later, and the bulbs didn't do anything. I again contacted TN and this time they said it's normal to not see anything for a year. This is definitely the worst plant purchase we've ever made...never again! Update - when I went to their website to see the details on the order, the website automatically reordered the same product - without confirming and without asking for payment info again. You can't text for support, and when I called to cancel this bogus order, the message on the phone said they charge a fee to cancel an order. This seems like a scam operation! read more

I received 3 plants but paid for 10. 2 are poisonous, and the third takes 2-3 years to grow. Definitely will not fall for your sales pitch again. The reviews are right. I should have taken a picture of the little curveball extra they threw out last year after all of had been sucked into this vacuum of lies. Read. They know what they put out last year and are now denying it since it is time to pay their customers back for their bare roots that are never going to come up. Don't order from here. I ordered bare root plants from this nursery last year on May 12th. I looked at their warranty that they will probably put out again this year once all suckers buy the roots of God knows what. The warranty stared at that time and I quote, there will be no refunds on bare root plants until next year as it takes a year for them to ever grow. I waited until now and there is not a spark of anything as of April 7th. Nothing is going to come up at all. I called and in short they rebutted what they put on their website to me and said I needed an extended warranty. Lies. When I called the nursery, the lady I spoke with had no sympathy, no give a crap about her. Told me I needed an extended warranty. I read that warranty last year and it did not say this, now it does. Take pictures of your order and the warranty. Disgusting business. Please do not order from this business to save yourself and wallet grief. I was really hopeful to try this company out for our landscaping needs, but the site is very deceiving on what their sales and promotions are. I even asked the online agent, since it did not show in my cart as expected, about the promotion they were having and it told me that I would be getting the promotion, which was Buy one get one free (bought 25 bulbs and that I should get 25 free) but when delivered, I only received half of my order. Engaged customer service and they told me to just buy more. Feels very shady (no pun intended) and definitely a huge turn off customer service wise and lesson learned. Way back in October, I ordered $156 worth of moss to "Ship Now". 3 weeks passed and I had received no updates or communication about my order. I finally reached out and they said they are "waiting for it to arrive". Another 2 weeks go by with no word from TN Nursery and by now the ground has been freezing and its our cold, rainy/snowy season. I reach out to cancel my order since it is too late for me to use the moss at this point - 5 weeks after ordering. 3 days later, they say they can't cancel or refund because the order was fulfilled. Magically they finally have it 3 days after I try to cancel. 7 weeks after ordering, it finally arrives and... what a joke. They literally just scooped up some forest floor and threw it in a box. 80% of the box is just dead grass, twigs, dirt, snails, weeds, etc. What little moss is in there is mostly just crumbles - very little in the way of a "bare root pad" that you could actually plant. Nothing even remotely like what was advertised. Do yourself a favor and save your money. This company is a joke in every conceivable way. read more

I put in for replacements in the Spring, as they were indeed dead. They wouldnt replace, only give me credit for what I spent, which wasn't enough for replacements. Same thing, waited all summer, received shipment after the growing season, dead by Spring. Now no refund or credit since I used the previous credit to buy these. Absolute BS. I called into TN Nursery and spoke to one of their sales representative. They helped me pick out what kind of moss would be best for my outside area. When it arrived to the house, I noticed it was really dry.. a few days later I noticed it was getting even dryer. Worried I emailed Customer Service and spoke with Felicia. I sent pictures and asked her to please call me direct. I told Felicia if the issues couldn't be resolved I wanted a refund. After sending pics, she assured me that I needed to give it more time that it hadn't even been five days. She gave me many tips, one including to not use tapwater because the chlorine could be the reason it is so dry. So instead of using my sprinkler, I gathered rain water and used that in the large area, (which was not easy). I tried everything they recommended. I asked for a refund after nothing had worked. Then they told me I didn't buy a warranty and they were not refunding me. I had to send them a copy of the standard warranty policy from their website. it was their policy in writing. So then they changed it to the area was Sunny. And therefore no refund. OK, but they're using the pictures I already sent them and the sales representative told me it was OK for the area to be sun and shade. The representative told me that this is the same moss she used at her house and that it would work great. They are trying everything possible to not honor their warranties. Purchased 3/01/2025. They indicated that they warranted tree purchases. I previously posted in April a positive rating and couldn't understand why all the negatives. Now i do. Only one tree out of five lived (It was actually more dead, since it was buy one get one free) The now have a "Purchased" Warranty. No warranty is honored but that one...which never popped up on my purchase order. The therefore stated warranted on their page isn't honored. I'd highly advise to find an honorable Nursery.
